  1. Xaver and yourself should be able to talk for hours and swap stories etc. DG
  2. Agreed! Now wait for others with different views??? Is there a danger that the competition will hang on to DVD support and take customers away? How long has XP been replaced by Vista and then W7? There are still people using XP. (I have all three - and soon iPad). DG
  3. Igor, I think that you will have to continuously monitor this? As well as using EXE files on computer, I ONLY use HD Video / USB / TV for my own use but have been forced to prepare (Standard) DVDs for distribution of material. DG
  4. Joy, It refers to V7.0.7? Beta 12 will not have overwritten that. DG
  5. iPad 4 on order for delivery on November 2. I look forward to testing PTE video with this new toy. DG
  6. Bert, Between Camera and PTE you can use whatever Colour Space suits you best. What you must do is convert the output JPEG to a colour space that is acceptable to PTE in your computer. I found that the ProPhoto RGB space was an ideal one to use with my RAW files shot in sRGB (in-camera). It was possible to see (in some cases) an immediate, if slight, improvement in Dynamic Range in the Histogram when the conversion from sRGB to ProPhoto RGB took place in my RAW converter of choice. However, the hassle of having to make sure that my JPEG was converted to a more suitable space - and the consequences of forgetting - became a problem, so I have stuck with an sRGB workflow thoughout for some time. I should add that the sRGB Space means nothing in a RAW file until it is applied in the RAW converter. The Space that you set in-camera is, however, applied to any JPEGs generated in-camera; for instance if you shoot RAW and JPEG. The other reason for setting sRGB in-camera is that it alters the file name structure to something that I find to be more acceptable. In a recent poll 99.9% of PTE users admitted to using the sRGB Space for their PTE projects, but there are opinions that this is not correct. So let us just say that sRGB seems to work for a lot of people. DG
  7. It looks like will be getting an ipad4. Dg
  8. I had a problem recently (on my laptop) where for some reason I had lost the Monitor Profile in Display / Advanced / Colour Management (Vista). When I first read this thread it was the first thing that came to mind (same symptoms), but I didn't suggest it because others would not see the same thing as you. It only affected my NX2. Worth checking? DG
  9. Thanks Tom, In my world NAS is "Nikon Acquisition Syndrome". DG
  10. Check the colour settings in all of the software you use - as said above convert to sRGB. ProPhoto RGB will give a similar look when viewed in sRGB space. Photoshop's Save for the Web will automatically convert to sRGB - there is a tick box to look out for. DG
  11. Nicely done - reminds me of some of the work that Lin Evans has done. Small point - why is the finished product here such a large file size? If you are using the same large elements which will also be used in the final production it might be understandable but for a 4:3 1024x768 could these elements not be reduced in size? DG
  12. I think that the need for some means of moving a track up or down (other than the menu) would be a welcome addition. My reason for choosing just the up or down arrow is that the one key operation cannot accidentally change the setup of the synchronisation. The position of any track from top to bottom changes nothing in the setup. DG P.S. With regard to similarities between various software packages, Igor drew an analogy between PTE and Photoshop in another (very) recent post so I merely reciprocated.
  13. Igor, Could we use UP and DOWN Arrows to move a Highlighted Audio Track up and down?? The use of these arrows is quite common in other software applications. DG P.S. I just noticed that Peter has mentioned a similar suggestion.
  14. Peter, Will try when possible. My post was based on a Vista example. DG
  15. I am not seeing this behaviour - perhaps you can explain in more detail. If I adjust my penultimate slide to end with music, I can still play the last slide in O&A. Vista. DG
  16. would anyone care to comment on their experiences with PTE Video for iPad 3. Quality? Resolution (1920x1080)? Fill Screen (or part screen)? Transitions (Smooth)? I have made a short (4 minute) MP4 using the iPad defaults and the quality when played back on my PC with MPC-HC is great for the file size (it's great - full stop!). Anyone have any do's or don'ts? I anticipate getting one in the near future and have been doing a little research into it. It seems easy enough to get the Video into the iPad using the SD Card adaptor. TIA, DG
  17. I can confirm that a current model SONY TV can Repeat Play an MPEG4 file via its USB input. I can confirm that a current model SONY BluRay DVD can Repeat Play an MPEG4 file via its USB input. I can confirm that a Sony BR DVD Player can Repeat Play an MPEG4 file via its USB input when connected to an Epson 1920x1080 Projector via HDMI. DG
  18. Jerry, What are you going to use to play the MPEG4? If TV Media Player, for instance, there is usually a means of repeating the play of the file there? DG
  19. The option is for the Slideshow only. DG
  20. The slideshow option to play continuously is in project options - Main? DG
  21. I think that he wants to be able to mute the sound in O and A?? DG
  22. When I first suggested "Preferences" many moons ago one of my hopes was that we would be able to set "Cover Slide" or "Fit Slide" as one of the options. Sadly, it was not to be - but it is certainly something worth mentioning to Igor? DG
  23. John, I'm assuming that you are talking about "Ignore objects not selected"? It works for me in Beta 10. Overlay two images and make the top one s,aller than the background one. Select the Background image in the Object Pane. Click somewhere within the foreground image and drag. The Background image should move leaving the Foreground image as it was. That's how I expect this feature to work? DG
