I renamed my existing apr.exe to apr420.exe. Then I installed the new version in the same folder as the previous version. So now I can easily "go back" to the old one (apr420.exe) or use the new one (apr.exe).

The .pte file is just a text file telling Pix2Exe where to find all the pictures and music. So it's no good without those, of course!

Just scroll down to the bottom of that page. There you'll find a great, big button with the text "Download lame_enc.dll here" But I agree with you (as always! :-) - get it "from the horse's mouth".

Delete (or temporarily rename) those three lame_enc.dll and put the latest version in the System folder. That way you are sure that all your programs are using the latest version of lame_enc.dll. Now, if everything works OK - check the programs where you found these three .dll's - just delete those three (renamed) .dll's.

Don't use the Create button! Use File | Save As... and File | Create Slideshow As...

Choose (Self-extracting .exe file) rather than the .zip file! Much easier for you! If you Open it, PicturesToEXE will be installed 'on the fly'. And if you Save it, you must later start the installation yourself by double clicking on the file you saved (in that case you'd better save it on your Desktop, otherwise you may have trouble finding it again). So stay away from the first download choice (the .zip file) and go for the self-extracting .exe file!

Save as (project) has of course no influence on the .EXE file (Project is .PTE). To avoid overwriting the original .EXE file you've got to use Create Slideshow as (Slideshow is .EXE) and give your new slideshow a new name.

I agree! It's a bit of a mess. Advice: 1. Options | Load last used project (UNTICK) 2. ALWAYS use Save as... and Create Slideshow as... Please fix this ASAP, Igor!

Hmmm... Seems to work OK for me. The box stays ticked and everything works as it should.

Do a search on e.g. autorun and you'll most probably get lots of answers. This topic has been extensively covered in this forum. There are even free utilities to help you ... Good luck!

I downloaded this program, installed it. Had a quick look - nothing like PTE at all. Then tried to uninstall it - no uninstall.exe, couldn't find it in the Control Panel either - had to just remove it and then run RegClean.

Are you sure you didn't start PTE by mistake instead of starting this Aephid thing?

1. Of course you can use your .mid music. 2. Why not just copy it from the ZIP drive to your hard disk? Or just load it into PTE from the ZIP drive. What exactly is the problem?
