  1. Hi John, Being a great fan of Barry Beckham's tutorials I too have picked up so much from these over the years. Regarding your request.. The way I insert slides to the music beat is very simple. 1..Insert the slides to be used into the slide line. (In the right order to be used) 2..Then select Timeline and the select 'Timed points' and click on 'Cut all transition points'. This in effect moves all the slides to the very end of the timeline into a 'holding area' 3..With the music selected and playing via the mini player just insert each slide as you wish on the beat of the music using either the 'New transition' button on the left above the timeline or on the keyboard using the 'Ins' key. This works for me however there may be other and possibly easier ways of doing the same. All the best Anthony
  2. Hi Ken, Which version of PtE are you using? With the latest 6.5 there is now the facility to easily customise the background music to accommodate the 'voice overs' In the project options 'music' tab click on the ''waveform' icon at the bottom and use the envelope tool to reduce the music volume at the 'voice over' section. This is so useful and very easy. Does this answer your question? I understand that Igor and the team intend to update (improve?) the audio aspects that he has recently added to a later version but with the video capabilities in V7 out soon the 'audio' has been put on hold. 3. For me this is JUST a pleasant sequence.I appreciate there are those (whether or not on the forum I know not) who will find such images offensive. I certainly do not but equally they do nothing for me in terms of artistic presentation or show. Did you consider moving the swirls at all if that was a possibilty? This does open that old old question ''What constitutes Art?'' Anthony
  4. Douglas, You would have to go a very long way to find tutorials that are more concise and clearer than Barry Beckham tutorials. They are presented in an easy conversational style that makes learning and understanding this great software a joy.Go to his web site and see all that is on offer. Anthony
  5. Just downloaded your China sequence. Thoroughly enjoyed it bringing back many memories of our trip there about 15 yrs ago. Thank you for showing it. Anthony. PS I'm sure we have all seen judges who need their eyes testing!!?
  6. Maureen, Once again you have shared with us a lovely and gentle sequence. Your formula works every time with beautiful images and sympathatic music. I thoroughly enjoyed it. A lovely show to end the year. Anthony
  7. Hello Tom Just picked up your question. If I understand your query correctly you are wanting the inserted image on the background to remain static from keypoint 2 to keypoint 3 and then to move it to where you wish it to go. You just need to add a further keypoint 4 and make the animation to that point from keypoint 3. I don't believe it has anything to do with the speed and type of animation ie, linear, accelerate, slow down and smooth. Your time line in the objects and animation window will then have 4 keypoints... '1' where animation starts. It stops at '2'. Then is static until '3' and starts again and ends at '4'. I hope this is helpful or have I completely misunderstood your problem. Anthony
  8. A subject that has been photographed with AVs many times. This AV I thought was excellent , the images and music handled so well and sensitively creating an emotional sequence. Thank you for sharing this with the forum. Anthony
  9. To Peter S, My sound files are MP3s To Peter fh, I do not know what chip my friend's Mac has installed. However a solution of sorts has presented itself....My Canadian friends have emailed me to tell me that they have a PC in their ''other home'' that they are visiting tomorrow so that they will be able to view my show after all. But I do appreciate your immediate comments and help and I will endeavour to follow up with these to create a Mac show. Thank you both. Anthony
  10. I have tried to create a PtE AV for a friend in Canada who has a Mac. I Used the 'Create for Mac' option in the create box in PTE V 6. I thought this would be fine. I made one Exe file and then made another as a Zip file. I then copied to CD and tried to play these on a local friend's Mac with OS Leopard 10.6. Neither would open or play. Something to do with 'unsupported on this architecture' So It would seem pointless in my sending this CD to my friends in Canada. Am I doing something wrong because the instructions appear straight forward in PtE in doing this? I would value and welcome your help. Anthony
  11. Peter, Following those last 3 posts I think there's a lot to be said for running XP on a wood burning stove. Anthony
  12. Peter, I installed Service pack 3 onto my kettle and now it goes like blazes. Anthony
  13. Davy, Just downloaded your show. No problem with AVG whatsoever.. The show itself.....I thought was first rate in visual and audio content. Very very moving. Thank you Anthony
  14. Neil, If there is going to be a 5 millisecond delay then that's the ideal time to pop downstairs to make that cup of tea. Anthony
  15. Hi Ken, Seemingly nothing dangerous about bypassing AVG scanning items known to be virus free. The software allows for those eclusions and and who wants to wait ages before one can open a safe file. My Resident Shield is operating all the time for everything else thrown at it. We may be talking at cross purposes here? However I appreciate your thoughts. Anthony
  16. Hopefully Eric by the time both my XP computers need replacement (drives or otherwise) Windows 7 or whatever is next will have had all the Service packs 1. 2 and 3 etc well installed and established. I truly love my XP even though it took a while after Windows 98. Long live XP. Anthony
  17. Regarding the fact that AVG seems to block everything it can my way around this issue when I had a problem was to reconfigure the Resident Shield using 'Manage exceptions' (on the Resident Shield window) . I instructed it to ignore all Exe files and their paths. This stopped the wretched software from scanning the whole file everytime I opened any new one or the long list of existing exe fles in my folder on my computer. I have done this on both this laptop using AVG 9 free and on my desktop using AVG 9 licenced. I (dare I say this?) have not had a problem since. Anthony
  18. Brian, Thank you for the music title. I will go and locate it as I think it is beautiful. Good show. Anthony
  19. Hello Brian, Thoroughly enjoyed the show. The crispness of the images and the different transitions and pictures within pictures worked well. Thought the music was great , may I ask what it was or should I know it?
  20. Hello Maureen. Wow!! I have seen so many images at the photographic clubs over the years from members who have been to Antarctica and bored the pants of the club with hundreds of ______ icebergs and penguins. You really demonstrate the usefulness of AVs by producing such a wonderful show both pictorially and audibly (as you always do damm it) The quality of your photography Maureen is superb and why oh why is there this nonsense about 5 or 6 min shows. If we have enough images of great quality as you always seem then let the show go on, so to speak. There is the esc key for some if they feel the need. I certainly don't. Thank you again and I look forward to next inevitable AV from you. Anthony
  21. Hello Eric, As I had seen (by chance) the Hairy biker's show in the week I downloaded the AV. After the shock of the blast of Bach at the beginning I thoroughly enjoyed the images and audio accompaniment.Good variety of shots. Not sure about the 'Floyd' ending but that obviously means something to you. Well done. Anthony
  22. Hi Gayland, What a monster. I can just imagine the wonder the little boy watching must have felt, cos we are all little kids really seeing something like that pass by. How many wheels were used I wonder? Thank you
  23. Here's a little lesson to be learned. Sari posts an AV and asks for comments. A nummber of replies with hopefully constructive and helpful words and thoughts come back to her and she is very grateful. Anthony
  24. Hello Sari. Some very 'pretty' pictures. For me there were far too many different transitions even though the staccato feel of the music did lend itself to sequence and the different formats of the images. The ending was a little abrupt. Thank you for sharing the show. Anthony
