  1. Hello Lin, I would be interested in your snow cube. I would also like to take the time to thank you personally for your training tutorials. They have helped me tremendously and I refer to them often. Kieron
  2. I did not mean to hijack your thread Maurizio. I thought you might find interest in someone else who has recently been to Ladakh. Thanks to everyone for the kind comments. I have been fortunate to travel and photograph this amazing world we live in. I would not consider myself a professional photographer as it is not my main source of income. I was quite active on the forum at the beginning of the year (asking questions). I was new to the program and had just returned from China. I presented the show at our local auditorium. Thanks to the Dom and his wonderful templates,to Barry, for his instructional videos, and others who helped me with hardware issues, the presentation was a success. Many thanks , Kieron
  3. I really enjoyed the show. I have recently returned from Ladakh, an amazing experience. If you are interested please check out my Ladakh gallery at http://www.vanishingculturesphotography.com Kieron
  4. Thanks everyone, I can`t seem to duplicate it, but will repost if it should happen again. Kieron www.vanishingculturesphotography.com
  5. A recent show that I put together has been played from the executable file dozens of times. The other day about 15 minutes into the 26 minute presentation the sound seemed to stall for about 3 seconds and remain out of synch till the end of the presentation. I have not replayed it to find out if it will do the same thing at the same point but was curious if anyone has encountered this. The presentation was presented on a dual core processor. Someone suggested to me that this may have been the reason. The logic was that the sound was on the other core at this time? I do not understand this stuff but he said it may be the way the code was written? The sound file has been left in the wave format and not converted to mp3 as I am using a newer pc with lots of ram and processing speed. Any thoughts most welcomed as I would hate to be in the middle of a presentation that is important and have this error. Kieron
  6. This is what I use, but did not pay at this price point. You can get it much cheaper. The one that is only good for 30 ft. is lower priced. Probably overkill, and not what you intended, but I also use it for a media center. I have controlled a show from over 100 ft away. I needed a wireless keyboard and this works great. You can control the volume and have the ability to use the escape key. http://www.gyration.com/p-18-go-pro-24ghz-...oard-suite.aspx Kieron
  7. Barry, I agree with what you are saying. Since I was new at learning the program in hindsight I wish I had made the images at a higher resolution. My projector is 1024x768 so I assumed that would be the resolution to make my images at. The show I put together was 25 minutes long and was about my recent journey in the southwest of China. If and when I upgrade my equipment I will have to redo the photos. It is almost the same as shooting in raw, you can always make jpegs from these files. Having the images at the highest resolution allows you to downsize to whatever you want for your show and you will still have your master file so to speak. In the future for my larger shows I will revert to this method. Kieron
  8. Thank you so much for all the work you put into providing templates. When you see how much work there is involved when you observe the objects and animations tab it is really appreciated. I hope you keep providing this valuable resource both as free templates as well as the ones for purchase. Kieron
  9. Just a follow up to my concern about the volume control showing as an overlay on the screen. As stated, I am now using the shuttle pc for my shows and microsoft xp. The other advantage to this way of doing things for me, is that I can make adjustments, or new transitions, and see exactly what will happen. Prior to this I would do everything on my other computer and transfer it to the laptop. The sound control overlay does not show up using this unit. It must be a vista control or somehow related to my sony laptop. The galaxy has not turned up as yet from the supplier, probably held up at customs. Thanks again, Kieron
  10. Barry, Great stuff as usual, very enjoyable. Kieron
  11. I have placed an order for the Galaxy and will let you know how it works. I still have a month to finish my show. Thanks again for everyones input, Kieron As a side note, I have got carried away and have made the show quite complex. When running it on my Sony laptop I was not satisfied with some of the transitions and I think something may have been running in the background. The laptop is a core duo, not dual core. I have purchased a used Shuttle small form factor computer from my local computer guy at a very reasonable price. It is very light and it runs the program smooth as silk, no more laptop headaches and cheaper than purchasing a newer laptop.
  12. I had the good fortune of photographing the Zuang fishermen on the Li River, Guangxi province China. As they were casting their nets in the dawn light, I shot the sequences at about 8 frames per second. My question is regarding the transition In PTE. I have the eight slides set to quick no transition effect. It looks decent, but I was wondering if there is a better way to speed things up? Thanks in advance, Kieron
  13. Thanks Brian, I have updated my profile and will do a search in Canada or the U.S. for a similar device. It looks pretty slick and the price is right. Thanks again to everyone, Kieron
  14. Thanks guys, I really appreciate the advice. Kieron
  15. Just another thought. If I use my external sound system and use the Logitec volume control this will not happen as the control is downstream from the mini jack hooked into the computer. This would be similar to using the volume control using external speakers on your PC that has an off/on switch and volume control to adjust your sound. It seems to me that I would have to use an external sound card with a volume control and hook the connection into this? There sound system converts down to a mini jack for hook up into laptops. Thanks, Kieron
  16. I will be using the same mini jack as if using my own external speakers into a sony vaio laptop. The projector is controlled with the laptop. If you are watching just using a laptop and turn the sound up using F4 on the Sony the small window or bar will show up with the plus /minus graph as you toggle it up. I also can use a volume control using a USB connection by Griffin Technologies http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powermate/ and the same thing applies. They told me it is a Microsoft function. I thought I could have a USB wheel to control and tweak the sound, it works great but annoying not to be able to hide the small window. I am using a Canon projector and in their literature about volume control they state that you can control the volume with the remote and see the result on screen. I don`t want the audience to see this. Thanks for the reply Brian, I thought you would be the person to answer this query. Kieron
  17. I am presenting a show in a large auditorium where the main sound controls are located in a booth away from where I will be located. I will have time to set up prior and hopefully have the correct levels. My question is regarding the windows that come up on your computer screen or projected image when you adjust the sound on the laptop. Is there a way to hide this window? If I have to tweak the sound levels part way through a show using the laptop sound control, it is very distracting to have your show super imposed with the plus/minus sound volume window showing up while you do it. I hope this makes some sense. I am using vista on my laptop. I can also have the sound in and out through the projector and use the controls on the remote. This will also bring up a window. Thanks, Kieron
  18. Really enjoyed it, Is there a chance of explaining to a newbie how you did your dissolves while keeping images on the screen. The effect is very proffessional and I am sure it will do well in the competition. Thanks for allowing me to enjoy it. Kieron
  19. Thanks Igor, Both for a fine product and quick response. It has started functioning again after several reboots. I should also have mentioned that I am running vistax64. I will check nvidia and drivers. Happy holidays from Canada.
  20. I have removed pictures to exe and rebooted then downloaded again, same problem. R
  21. Happy holidays everyone, When I click on the objects and animations box it dissapears from the desktop and nothing happens. Everything else works fine. If I try and use objects and animations from the slide pulldown the slide dissapears. I downloaded beta 18 and it still happens. I have rebooted and it does not help. Thanks, Kieron
  22. Thanks for the quick reply. I had used that option but for some reason it did not help when viewing in full screen. I have just tried again at your helpful suggestion and it is working like a charm. This has been a great introduction to the forum, I really appreciate the help. Thanks, Kieron
  23. I thought I had figured it out, but I don`t. Am I correct that the choices in objects and animation under the common tab, then mode, there is no longer the choice for original slide? Can someone inform me why it was removed, or how to get around the issue in project options. I am using a very high screen resoluton of 1600x2560 on a 30in NEC monitor. Therefore when viewing my show at 1024x768 in full screen it is very soft and poor quality. Before I would be viewing it as I would see it on my projector with the rest of the screen black. I can not find how to prevent the scaling as was possible in the previous version. Like I said I am a newbie so I apoligize for this question if it is obvious to others. I used Peter`s suggestion and it will work but it seems that I should be able to do this in the newer versions. Many thanks Kieron
