  1. A sequence of 5 minutes duration would use about 50 images and 5MB of WAV audio. Therefore each image would be just under 15MB. That points to the images being at the original size as captured by the camera.
  2. Barry, If the user has simply "trimmed" the video by dragging in the ends in the Timeline, I think that would result in the entire video clip being included in the EXE. Whereas, if they trim the video in the PTE Video Converter all the unused material will be left "on the cutting room floor". regards, Peter
  3. I have now undone that which was previously done, i.e.: deleted the Exclusion list itemsturned on the Heuristic engine...and re-booted the PC. All seems to be OK. No false positives - yet!
  4. When playing back through Youtube, the default resolution is often quite poor, I noticed that when I clicked on the link above, the resolution of the playback was 360p. When I expanded it to fullscreen, the resolution of the playback became 720p.
  5. Tom, Thanks for the update. I'll remove my circumventions and see what happens. Peter
  6. I have checked the SPAM folder. There is nothing there from Malwarebytes
  7. Take a look at Settings > Preferences > System > Display fullscreen preview. Does this give you what you are looking for? N.B. I have assumed you are using PTE v8 Peter
  8. Igor, Over 6 hours ago I created an account on the Malwarebytes forum. It said it would take 10 minutes or less for the e-mail to appear telling how to complete the account setup. I'm still waiting. Twice I have logged in directly to my online e-mail service and there is no sign of any e-mail from Malwarebytes. I have checked the SPAM folder and there is nothing in there, either. I would love to report this problem to Malwarebytes but they do not want to talk to me, it would seem. This morning Malwarebytes again quarantined PteViewer.exe, despite my having restored it from the Quarantine area yesterday. You have to admire its persistence! regards, Peter
  9. Why was it that I couldn't see this when it was sitting there right under my nose? Thanks for the pointer. I've returned the EXE file to its proper folder, and also PteViewer.exe to the WnSoft folder. regards, Peter
  10. I have started getting Anti-virus alerts from Malwarebytes Anti-malware. It even catches the temporary EXE file created by Publish command. The file it has started objecting to is the target of a shortcut on my Windows desktop. As an attempt to circumvent this problem I have added the folder in which the EXE is stored to the Exclusions list and have also turned off the Heuristic engine. These actions have successfully circumvented the problem. The EXE that I hit the problem on is one that I had used several times already today, in a version that was probably built with PTE v7.5. I had cause to make changes to the project and published a fresh version of the EXE earlier today using v8.0.8. I used that successfully during the early part of the afternoon. After taking a break away from the computer, I came back and tried to run the same EXE and Malwarebytes flagged it as some kind of Trojan and has quarantined it (but I don't know where and can't seem to find out where through Malwarebytes). regards, Peter
  11. Are you sure about that? I can see fonts in PTE that are not showing as TrueType fonts in Word. (e.g. Monotype Corsiva). Indeed, in my Word drop down of available fonts there is only one that shows as TrueType (and that one is also usable in PTE)
  12. Stripes, The problem you originally hit (DVD wouldn't play in a specific DVD player device) is quite likely down to the codecs involved. There are literally hundreds of different audio and video codes out there. Checking which codecs were used by PTE v7 and then choosing those when burning via PTE v8 might get you past this problem. That is, if PTE v8 allows you to customize your choice of codecs. I don't burn many DVDs so don't have a huge amount of experience to draw upon. If this isn't a codec issue then it could simply be that you chose a different brand of DVD to burn onto, and for some reason or other that brand is less compatible on this particular DVD player. regards, Peter
  13. Almost certainly, your images are stored on an external USB device that is not connected or has connected but with a different drive letter to that which it had when you built the PTE project. Be aware that PTE does not copy any of your images into the PTE project. It simply adds pointers to where they are located. The images (and sound and video) are added only when you Publish the project. At the point of Publish, all the source files (image, sound and video) must reside on devices that are currently connected and with the same drive letter as they had previously. Peter
  14. I believe the technique is to link the first clip of each track to the first slide and then insert your 10-second black slide. If I am wrong someone will put us both on the right track.

I can see two new tutorials from Barry but nothng new from MUR. Peter
  16. Gary, The behaviour you want already exists; at least, something very like it does. Drag your first slide into the Slide List, go to the Properties tab in O&A, and set up your border on this first slide. Then click on the link "Save and use by default" at the bottom of the Properties panel. Last time I used this setting I got the impression it was remembered like a Settings > Preference (i.e. the value persisted across all projects until I changed it again). regards, Peter
  17. Mick, Check that you have "Synchronize soundtrack and slides" ticked in Project Options > Advanced. Peter
  18. You succeeded, magnificently! Peter
  19. Dave, The last slide has no "outbound transition" and so will always be a "special case" when applying slide styles to every slide in a sequence. Peter
  20. I think that when you apply a Style, the embedded durations (slide and transition) over-ride your previously set values. Someone with better knowledge than me will put me right if I am wrong.
  21. I once sat in the audience when a pair of those Bose Companions were used. Their ability to fill the room (a village hall) with high quality sound so impressed me that I bought a pair for my own use. I don't think you will be disappointed with their performance.
  22. Click on the little triangle to the left of the Slides/Timeline tabs (bottom right)
  23. Lin, The Adobe Photoshop CC system does most emphatically NOT need to "phone home" in order to use it. I have regularly demonstrated using Photoshop CC on my laptop with no Internet access. You are propagating a common fallacy about the Creative Cloud offering. Of course, if you have chosen to store your image files on the cloud then, yes, you will need Internet access. But that is true for all files that you store up in the clouds - not just Adobe Photoshop CC. Peter
  24. Maggie, Try shutting off the laptop display when sending the video card output to the projector. This has been known to "resolve" the issue for some users. Do both laptops have the same amount of native RAM on the graphics card? Do both laptops have the same amount of main memory RAM? Are both laptops running exactly the same other programs - i.e. are they making exactly the same demand for memory, CPU and graphics? For example: do you both use the same anti-virus software? Do you have exactly the same software updates applied? It is very, very difficult to make exact comparisons between personal computers because each person will have set up their systems differently; each person's hard drive will have fragmented differently. regards, Peter
