  1. Thanks Ken! I am always thankful for all the generosity of members of this Forum sharing their time and energy so freely with each other. It is great to see so much enthusiasm and new ideas generated by Igor's new download. I can't wait to have a chunk of time to play and have some fun with it. I've spent so much time sorting out computer nightmares here, I'l have to update web sites first and then post some of my stuff up to share. Meanwhile it's a glorious sunny day in Wiltshire, I've been allocated gardening tasks and housework for the rest of the day ....... but I look forward to checking out more new developments later. Thankful to be back to almost full mouse control even if the keyboard wants to write in code here ! Thanks again Ken Maureen
  2. Many thanks Lin and even bigger thanks to Igor. I have found the new features quite easy to follow after a short "play" with this beta version but Lin's tutorial is an excellent help too and much appreciated. Thankfully I am almost back to full strength on my computer after lots of problems. Only one minor glitch left to fix. Thanks again BW Maureen
  3. my filing system is a mess or rather non existant & I have to rely on my poor worn out memory (one brain cell) to find anything ! from Brian . Conflow earlier posting.
  4. Oh how I wish someone had whispered those three little words to me when I started digital photography!
  5. Well Done Lin Enjoyed seeing the possibilities. Have now sussed out how to do text ! Thanks Maureen
  6. THANK YOU Igor.
  7. Many Thanks for the advice Brian, I have my settings to always save the downloads for me to update when I wish but somehow this one has really caused masses of problems. BW Maureen
  8. Hi Lumenlux Hope you sort out your problem. I think I have a wasted life here too trying to sort out my computer problems. No sooner is something working smoothly than some little gremlin creeps in and gives a hiccup. Thankfully nothing major to bring everything to a blue screen but all still so time consuming & frustrating. No Peace for the wicked ? I've had no Internet connection on my my main PC since April 15th - probably due to this Microsoft upgrade. The connection to router & four computers is there but one PC refuses to get sorted & work. The other three have now all been fixed. Of course it has to be the PC with all my e-mail info & web site stuff (nothing lost & all backed up onto an external but don't want to load the laptop withall those files). Just feeling very sympathetic with your lost time & annoyed feelings Lumenlux! Sorry can't help technically - hoping Father Christmas will bring a magic computer wand next year to sort these things out ...... well maybe we've already got one with the PTE Forum & all the help here ! BW Maureen
  9. Main PC NVidia GeForce 6700 XL My laptop NVidia GeForce Fx Go 5600 Robert's PC - Medion Radeon 9600 TX Secondary Many Thanks Igor for all you do for us. I still have Internet problems at the moment. BW Maureen
  10. Happy Easter Everyone. The sun is shining, lambs are gamboling (or gambling with poker chips?) in the fields, the birds have made their nests and the deer are chasing across the fields. Yes Spring has hit Wiltshire. I sorted out my dual graphics set up and promptly lost my Internet connection. So this has to be from my husband's laptop. So forgive me if I don't reply to e-mails for a while - away for a holiday break with no computers! True Peace, Love Maureen

Hi Hope Damor's had a chance to see his "Baby" idea and likes the result. A trully International project & glad to be a part of it too. Of course I keep seeing bits I want to "adjust & change" in my part but that's my personality.... Look forward to viewing the next one.... that someone else'll paste together It'd be good to see the variety of styles presented on the Forum. Well done on bringing everyone together Damor. hope you're keeping well. We'll be down in Swansea on the 18th for the week so maybe catch up with you then. Also visiting Sospan Ray, so may catch up with you at the Club on Wednesday night. You can't travel anywhere without tripping over PTE members these days - great to put faces to the names. Maybe more members should now post their mugshots up on the PTE Rogues Gallery? Also bumped into The Oldie in Northumberland the other week. Hi Alan ! I know the French Diaporama Forum have special large badges they wear at AV events to recognise one another, or maybe we'd just do a strange secret signal like one hand over your eye and one over your ear to show we're true PTE buddies! Just on April 1st maybe ? Glad to get the feedback about production. Negative helps the beginners and my skin is tough ! Well until they chop it around ... My own comment is.... the actual music is too short for the number of images - if I'd created this for my own personal use I'd have used much longer slower dissolves to get a much better effect and done more pruning. Not that I felt anyone's work wasn't welcome here etc. Thank You everyone. This would have given more time for the credits too at the end. I could've added some silence to let them roll over but feel it'd lose the atmosphere. I wanted to get this one finished, ... so I didn't do as much sound editing as I'd hoped. So I could've for example put in some sound effects at the start to really get your attention, gone into the song and finished with some of "Give Peace a Chance" (which I'd have editing & played with a bit.) Then it'd get into another dimension and level & that "ol' chestnut *********" would've been involved . Can add more notes if required, BW Maureen

Hi The sequence is on the web since I finished it at 5.30am. See Beechbrook link. However please be patient ... when I downloaded & tested the zipped version this afternoon, the credits jump (Thanks Ken for the feedback) and there's some distortion with the sound. SO I have put a temporary block on the download for a short while as I'm correcting a few niggles. Thanks

  14. Hi Harry Keep chilled out for the stress test and we'll be thinking of you on the 11th. I'm having a very minor op on the 12th - they're just cutting a bit of me off - hope it's not my only lonely brain cell ! I shouldn't even need a bed - they just dump you on trolleys in UK (only kidding!) Look forward to hearing form you as soon as you are well enough, as a veteran of many ops, just remember the anaesthetic kicks in after a few days and you suddenly feel VERY sad & sorry for yourself ... just remember all your pals at PTE. Keep your mind off things by planning your next sequence with your new monitor & talk your brother into thinking about getting a new computer. We're all thinking of ya' Love Maureen
  15. I was always afraid that people would catch sight of what I look like in the wee small hours of the morning if I joined ! Must remember to take the curlers out and peel the face mask off (or maybe wear the brown paper bag). Will be soon setting up some DI and digital AV meetings in South Wales as have just been appointed a DIGRO for South Wales - that's RPS talk for Digital Imaging Group Regional Organiser. Any helpers in the area who'd like to help set up some events please get in touch. Will have so much time on my hands ..when the Peace AV is finished. (Yes I haven't forgotten - need a whole day and night at home to finish that) Gotta go ....... giving a digital AV Talk at 1.30 today (am not usually awake by then .. only kidding. Lol ) Have joined MSM but not had time to set it all in motion - will start soon. M
  16. We're all waiting excitedly for the launch of version 5 ................................. but Ian has already experienced his BIG FIVE OH today ! HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ian !
  17. Sut Mae Sospan? Welcome to the Forum! We look forward to seeing your work Ray. Are you a member of Lli CC? If you are, give my best wishes to all the others, ............. from another Sospan !
  18. The Man Whe Drew Tomorrow was a sequence by Len Deeley. I've sent him an e-mail to view this page. It was an excellent story which told the story of Frank Hampson, creator of the Eagle comic for boys and the space hero Dan Dare. It was in our WWW-DAVE Digital AV Competition last year at Aldbourne, Cardiff & Dublin. Hope this helps. Best Wishes Maureen
  19. Using Photoshop ... I set the crop tool to 120 mm by 120 mm at 250 ppi The resulting image was 1181 pixels by 1181 pixels BUT the actual image had cropped down to 119.99 mm by 199.99 mm at 250 ppi Hope this helps Brian. I usually use Roxio Creator Classic v 6.1 which has a Label Creator program. This creates the labels and inserts for each CD or DVD. Best wishes Maureen
  20. Hi Folks A few people have e-mailed me as they are worried that the French 321 web site and the English 321 web site (which I run) has not yet shown the full up to date list of all 83 sequences received. There has been a hold-up updating the English site as I've been transfering across to a new computer and temporarily lost some connections (will be fixed very soon) and I'm currently sorting things out for next Sunday here at Aldbourne. Anyone who wishes to view all the entries please come along, pay at the door - more information here Hope this reassures some of you. It's a great entry & once that is over it'll be on to the "Peace" project. Best wishes Maureen
  21. 1861 ? Wasn't that the start of the Civil War ? I stopped counting after I hit 21 last week Love M
  22. Hi Harry Good luck at the hospital we'll be thinking of you & hoping the computer has twins Should we send cigars or nappies (diapers?) pink or blue ? Only kidding - take care! Can I auction my "dumb blonde title" too Granot? Though after all these clicks looking for the next version, maybe that should be dumb "grey". Still feel patient though as I know what a superb program version 5.0 will be when it is delivered. Think I'll have a Big Five OH party for it ...... drinks all round ...... on line of course .... champagne by the bucketful ... Don't forget we've got the 321 International Challenge at Aldbourne on Sunday. hope some of you can "pop over" - tickets on the door & more info here Love Maureen
  23. Many Thanks Igor Your hard work and dedication to all the PTE workers is always appreciated. Best wishes Maureen

Peace to all ! Don't know if you'll all like the finished sequence Folks. Time will tell! It would be awful to disagree about Peace, wouldn't it? I'll be starting it on February 20th, the day after I finish organising the 321 Challenge at Aldbourne See www.maureenalbright.com/321challenge for more information about that International event which has 15 countries taking part. You can still enter if you wish - closing date Feb 10th- sequences must be under 3mins 21secs. Anyone is welcome to come along and watch the judging at Aldbourne. I have a few ideas up my sleeve for "peace" and I will incorporate my own images as it progresses, hence my delay in submitting images (waiting for someone else to "volunteer" ). All images welcome so have no fear. I gave one AV group a challenge to produce a five minute sequence from 35 images I uploaded - only rules were you have to use at least 20 images and you cannot use any other images! see here Meanwhile keep sending in your images to Bill Best wishes Maureen
  25. Very well presented site Geoff. Well done. I particularly enjoyed your galleries and all photos loaded very quickly indeed. Some super shots, especially the Natural History. BW Maureen
