  1. Sorry, PTE does not support Video's in slideshows. You can make a link in the slideshow that someone could click on and play the Quicktime Video. But this will only work if they have a player installed for the Video. You would have two files. The EXE slideshow and the MOV video file. Not sure if this is what you are asking. If you have more questions just post again. cc
  2. Tom, I have found the same problem when I use the pause with permit control of show. The option is new in the 4.2 beta's. (permit control of show) I would also like the Pause to stayed paused until I press the pause button again, in my Sync'd shows. Maybe this option will be changed before the final release. cc
  3. The last release Date I seen on Studio 9 was to be Feb 16. So If anyone has bought it I would not think they had time to test it yet. I am sure once they start testing it you might hear some comments. cc
  4. Well you could use the Custom Sync. you pick the time in the timeline you want each picture to change. a little more time to set up But works great ones it is done. Or the slides you want to be on the screen longer just copy it and make a second one. this will double your time. cc
  5. When you make a Slideshow that you have Sync'd to the music. Then only Key on the keyboard that works is the ESC. to stop the slideshow. If you put a check in the "Permit the control of the show". You can have the Nav bar in a Sync Show or you can use the Right and Left Arrows to skip Fwd or Back in the slideshow. With this, you can have your pictures in time with the music. But the viewer can still view the pictures they want to longer. Or even Pause a show that is in Sync with a song. cc
  6. Image Editing I thought this program would be good for family and friends that do not want to spend the money on Photoshop. PhotoPlus 5.5 It seems to work well I have been playing with it for a few days. Part of review: PhotoPlus has all the staples you've come to expect from an image editor. - It supports layers just like Photoshop. - It has a nice selection of tools, including smudge, clone, and a variety of selection shapes. You're not limited to the rectangle and lasso tools. - If you screw up as often as I do, you'll appreciate the unlimited "undo" feature. All this for free!? PhotoPlus includes some powerful features that caught our attention. - The text feature is great for adding customized titles. The tool makes it easy to change wording and text style. - The program comes with a built-in "export optimizer." It lets you try out and preview your image at various quality settings and formats before you save it. Whether you need to create an image from scratch, swap heads with your favorite celeb, or restore old family photos, this program has all the features you need.
  7. Well you can create a permanent AVI file if you try some of the different Video Codec. Your video quality will not be as good as the PTE_AVI file. And the file will be larger. I created a one min Video and my file size was 900 MB. (That is almost 1 Gig a min of slideshow) PTE's temp file is only 11MB. And the PTE video was much better quality. You will have to try some of the Video Codec on your computers and let us know if you find one that works well for you. Everyone's computer will have different Codec. It all depends on what programs you have installed and updates you have made. For myself. PTE's Codec works the best and has the best quality. But we are still testing this Beta. cc
  8. Hello, It sounds to me as if you are not using a program to convert the AVI file that PTE makes to SVCD. NERO, Roxio, Pinnacle. are just a few of the programs I have seen people Post about using. The file that PTE Creates needs to be converted if you want it to play on a DVD player. It will also need to be converted if you want to Play the Video from a CD or another computer. You can convert the Temp AVI file with anogher program to (Mpeg, WMV, AVI). Or you could use the "Full Frame Uncompressed" Codec. But creating this AVI file will take a Long time And a Large Hard Drive. If you search the "How to Create a Video" section http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums//index....php?act=SF&f=4 you may find more answers. If you post your Video Questions is that area you might get better answers. Hope this helps gets you started cc
  9. Thanks Stu for that information. I have to agree with you too. I am glad we get to test the beta versions before the new version is released. We all use this program in different ways. It would be very hard for Igor to do all the testing we all do. Myself I enjoy playing with the new features and trying to find ways I will use them when the final version is released. I do most of my playing in the new beta's. Making things for my Family and Friends. But, When I am working on a project that has to run. I always go back to the latest final release. cc
  10. Welcome, Once you have the show the way you want it and music is added in PTE. you need to Create The slide show. This will create an EXE file that will play the music and show your pictures. You then can burn this file to a CD. (it does not have to be a DVD). Once it is burned onto the CD You Just need to Dlb click on the File to play the slideshow. You need to make a Data CD with Easy CD 5 to burn this file on the CD. If you need more help just post. I am short on time tonight. But if you need more help Just leave another post I am sure someone will answer you soon. cc
  11. I was wondering about just converting the AVI to an MPEG. Of course you will still be looking at lower quality then the PC's EXE file would be. But one could make a CD with both the EXE and MPEG file one it. cc
  12. Michel, I liked the look of. 1000 x 1000 3000ms, smothness 25 cc
  13. I like the new push and slide effects. But I would like to see a change if possible. When I have a background picture “Tiled Image” Set under > Project Options >> Screen My background image push and slide with the pictures. I would like to see just the picture move. But if this is not possible I can always use just a solid color. It looks good this way too. Thanks cc
  14. In the Project Option - Main Tab You can uncheck "Display each slide for:" on the bottom (Default is 4 Sec) This will keep the show from advancing to the next slide This option will do all the slides. If you have text on all of them. cc
  15. Sorry. I did not see your last statement. cc
  16. I don't have the answer for you. But I do suggest that you look into a DVR recorder. (Like a VCR put with DVD's) If you transfer 2 hours of video through your computer the time line might be something like this. 2 hours to transfer to computer. 4 hours Render Video for DVD. 1 hour Burning DVD. oops Did not work. Buy more DVD's Try agian next weekend. If you plan on editing the Video's then you will want to use the Computer. But if you plan on just transfering them I think you might be happier with the DVR. You can buy one for around $300 now. cc
  17. I got an email today from Pinnacle telling that the new Pinnacle Studio 9 is expected to ship on Feb 16th. Just in case anyone was thinking about buying a copy of Studio. you may want to wait until the release of the new version. cc
  18. digital@picturethis.net , The AVI file that PTE creates is a TEMP File. The PTE program creates the AVI as you watch it, this is why the program deletes the file when you are done. You can select a different VIDEO Codec file with the custom AVI File and it will create a AVI file that you can do as you want. But the file may be a very large file too. I used the Full Frame (uncompressed) On one of the first beta just to see how it worked. It will take longer to create then the TEMP PTE_AVI File does. Because it will create the AVI before you watch it. The list of Codec you have on your computer will depend on the Codec you have installed. If you have need more help just leave another post. cc
  19. Dana, I ran a test today. AMD 2800+ E Machine T2865 The SlideShow I used had 95 Slides Two MP3 (Bitrate 128). and was 6 min and 7 sec My Pinnacle Studio 8 is 8.10.40 Output to DVD Video Quality Auto Filter Video Not Checked Draft Mode Not Checked Mpeg Audio Not Checked Burned Directly to DVD+RW Total Time from Start of Rendering to Finished DVD out of burner. 26Mins. DVD Played well in Apex 1110W Audio Sound seemed fine. If you have any questions or want me to test anything else let me know. I have not done a lot of DVD burning. So I am learning both Studio and PTE_AVI. chuck
  20. Dana, I will do some testing next week and let you know what my times are. I did make a 59 min DVD from a PTE_AVI Just to see how long it would take. I had either MP3 or WAV in the background (I can't remember) with no sound and I added some sounds to a few of the pictures. So I am not sure if the sound was lower. because I did not have much to hear. This DVD took about 4 hours to create. I will do some better testing and let you know my results. cc
  21. May the joy and magic of Christmas be felt within your hearts and homes .. now, and throughout this New Year! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Illinois. Chuck cc
  22. Ken, If the program you are using to convert the file is still open. And you have the temp avi file selected. Windows will not allow the file to be deleted. Maybe this is what happened? cc
  23. It is part of Windows XP Here is a page that tells about the update. to Windows Movie Maker 2 cc
  24. I liked this slideshow too. I liked Ricky dressed up like Santa. It reminds me of when I had a dog she was always abused as my photo subject. cc
