Paul, Please let me know: 1. What file size of both EXE files? 2. Please can you describe size of images and number of slides used in the first project? How many images on a typical slide? 3. Run first EXE show and just a slide before the end (or in 10 seconds) press Ctrl+Shift+Esc to show Task Manager. Switch to Processes tab. Please let me know - how much memory consumes this EXE file? Xaver, Timeline in the main window has limited screen space. We have to show files and mini-player above. Compact view or mixed view helps to see more details in waveform or have more visible tracks without vertical scrolling. Do you know any audio file where separate view of channels can show important for synchronization details which can not be seen in mixed view? I admit that sometimes it can occur, but most of the changes have a place in both channels.

Xaver, Sound comments were always sycnhronized since v5.0.

Tom, Text templates are not applicable for a custom transition effects. Because there is no main image, not certain slide (transition between two slides), not EXIF, etc. But you right, "Insert text template" command is leading to misunderstanding. We'll disable this option for the editor of transition effects.

If your project contains PNG/GIF/BMP image files it can cause this difference, because PicturesToExe repacks them to internal lossless format before add to EXE.

I had to delete these links because under Windows 8 their new Start menu is a flat and all links are mixed! So I keep only one link - to main application of PicturesToExe. Regrettably installation package (InnoSetup) doesn't allow easily configure installation for separately for Windows 8 and previous Windows 7/Vista/XP. I'll wait when they add this support.

Dave, Marcel, Great! A competition of transition effects! Marcel, please upload other linked image files which you use in that custom transition. Xaver, I just thought that masks are not required! It's possible to crop a slide objects with "Canvas Size" parameters. And no masks and more smooth animation of slow PCs.

Can you reproduce same problem with smaller files? Optimal size of all files - up to 100 MB.

Probably it will take even more time. The problem in a fact that PicturesToExe is using previous version of this audio file. And for this reason it can't replace the file.
