Gary, I plan to rework this behaviour of PicturesToExe in future version. It's in my TODO list.
-
Geoff, Thanks for details! 1. Please send me a menu show (EXE) and any AV show (EXE) where could observe at least once this problem. 2. When exactly this problem occurs? When you click to run a AV show from menu or later? 3. Can you reproduce this problem without menu? It will help me better understand the problem. Recently we had a similar problem reported on the forum. I'll try find and fix this unpleasant situation.

I just ordered my new compact camera - Sony RX100. This camera should be very helpful for travels to create high quality AV shows with still images and videos in PicturesToExe Deluxe. Large 1" sensor, and only 240 g. People on forums say that quality of shots is near to entry-level dSLR cameras. It can record 1920 x 1080 video at 60p. TIME Magazine has included Sony RX100 to their list of the "50 best inventions" of 2012. I collected 13 the most impressive shots from different websites that show impressive potential of this camera for portraits and landscapes: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/27544810/Sony%20RX100%20Samples.zip (40 MB) Video: 1. http://vimeo.com/54511110 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tFD6xHMS8gY The quality of pictures and videos is incredible for such small camera. Very impressive depth of scene. The only problem with this camera - Sony sells models with 60p video only to USA, Canada and 50p for Europe. So I had to buy it in USA through eBay. We'll add support of slow-motion video (60p to 30p) to PicturesToExe in the next version.

Jose, I agree with Lin's explanation and with answers of other members. Image/video object can be placed into hierarchy of embedded containers (frames) with different zooms. PicturesToExe will calculate final (visible on the screen) zoom value. So there will be no losses in quality. This is true even for mask containers.

Geoff, I apologize for this problem! 1. Please can you try to re-create this problem (out of memory) with as possible less number of shows? For example, you can see this problem by running a menu show and then call one or two certain executable AV shows. 2. Please can I ask you pack these EXE files to a ZIP archive and send it to me? With instruction how to reproduce the problem. It will greatly help me understand the situation and fix the problem. 3. Also describe shortly a configuration of you PC: version of Windows, 32-bit or 64-bit, CPU, memory size, video card and screen resolution. Thanks in advance!

Thanks for your help again! P.S. I think we can stop the discussion, because I reproduced the problem. The discussion seems to go to another subject.

I'm considering Sony RX100 camera which can record 1920 x 1080 at 60p.

Xaver, Thanks, I confirm your findings. This problem happens when clipboard was empty before you run PicturesToExe and you run two instances of PicturesToExe. We'll try fix it quickly in v7.5.3.

Dave, Try updated 7.5.3 Beta with KFSD as in v7.5.2: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/picturestoexe-setup-beta.exe
-
Peter, Please try v7.5.3 Beta: http://www.wnsoft.com/files/picturestoexe/picturestoexe-setup-beta.exe It should solve this problem. If everything is OK, I'll publish final version 7.5.3 on December 30th.

Rename Templates to Templates and Transitions?
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Styles & Templates
Tom, Do you mean one section for slide templates and transition effects templates? -
Mike, We'll publish version 7.5.3 (or 7.5.4) with new code for DVD burning in one-two weeks. I hope that this problem will be resolved.

Barry, You are right. I finally reproduce this problem. We're working on it right now. Thank you!
-
Barry, 1. Please tell me - what exactly you have to do to reveal a hidden mouse cursor? A. Move slightly mouse cursor (pen) just on several pixels. B. Or move invisible cursor over "Size/position in Pixels" window. 2. I still can't reproduce this problem with my Wacom Bamboo tablet. But I can observe a similar situation in all Windows programs. For example, launch the Notepad in Windows, type any text and mouse cursor will dissappear. You need to move a cursor to show it again.
-
Peter, We just fixed this problem. Version 7.5.3 should be published on December 29-30.
-
Barry, Don't worry, I'm reading this topic right now.
-
Thanks, Peter! I confirm this problem. We'll fix it in v7.5.3

I think the new way to run a fullscreen preview from selected time position is more logical. We have a mini-player and fullscreen preview is a work of the mini-player in fullscreen mode. Also please take in attention that now this preview starts from current time position (not from slide number as in previous versions). New users who used video players or YouTube player will find same controls to run fullscreen mode (the button, and double-click to a picture).
-
Dave, Thanks for letting me know about this problem. 1. Can you easily reproduce this error message again in v7.5.3? 2. Please install previous official v7.5.2 and try to reproduce same situation. Will it occur now? P.S. The code of VideoBuilder didn't change since v7.5.0.

Jill, Next version will have better support of Unicode. We need to rewrite some old code (more than 12 years).

Fading Fading of a picture to a black screen and appearing of next slide. Simple custom transition effect for a project with any aspect ratio (16:9, 4:3, etc). Requirements: PicturesToExe Deluxe 7.5 or later. Fading.zip
-
Dave, I remember. I'll try to fix it. Thanks.
-
Thanks for confirmation! We'll include this fix to next update 7.5.3 You can use this test version as main version for now.

I created a new section on the forum: Custom Transition Effects 1. Add a description to the topic for supported aspect ratio. 2. A first post should include source files of custom transition effect (.ptef file and resources). 3. Demo show in EXE file or YouTube is welcomed. Xaver, Dave, Please copy your transition effects to the new forum from this thread:
