Barry, I can improve "Fixed size of a slide" option in next beta releases - you turn on this improved option and all your added images will be display at their original size without resizing, like an old option "Don't resize main images" in versions 5.0-5.5. I fully understand why you prefer this mode which helps reach better quality of a picture. But let me explain why we would not like to enabled this option by default for a new project. For example your images have size 1280x960. The current trend of manufacturers - producing of displays with higher and more higher number of pixels per inch. Time of life of a slideshow is long. How this slideshow will be shown on a future high resolution display in several years? Like a small postcard surrounded by massive black frame. Because of this I think that an optimal mode for majority of users is a scalable size of images. I very want reduce number of various options! But how it possible? A professional user needs one option/mode, beginner another.

Daniel, Currently I can't reproduce this issue with updating of an image file path. 1) How exactly you do this: type a new path manually in text box or click small button near to the text box to call Open dialog and choose this picture from a list? I've tried both ways with same successful result. 2) Please try to save project file under another name after you updated image file path. Re-open it. Will PicturesToExe find the updated image? If no, please send me only .pte project file. And let me know right updated file path which should be used in this project for this image file. 3) Please try to create a new one slide test project under Windows 7, then move used image file to another folder. Will this problem occur again?

Brian, Yes, I uninstalled my previous 3rd party firewall (Outpost) and turned off built-in XP firewall. But PC Tools Firewall Plus free still didn't work. -
Latest 5.6 .EXE files hang my PC when viewing
Igor replied to michohio's topic in General Discussion
I just tried to install PC Tools Firewall Plus Free but it just freezes up my Windows XP SP3 itself (even without PicturesToExe). Finally I had to use System Recover to get work my computer back. So I was not able to check up how PicturesToExe's slideshow work with this firewall. However I'll contact to developers of PC Tools Firewall Plus software to describe them this problem. -
No plans, sorry. You can only play slideshows created as a video (MP4 file, DVD, YouTube/Vimeo).

Excuse me! There were two mistakes in the code - I fixed one and missed another. Please wait for Beta 6.
-
Thanks! I just reproduced this error message with an icon and found the reason of this problem - it was a simple mistake in the code of the program. Beta 5 completely fixes this issue: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/picturestoexe-beta.zip (7 MB)

Thank you, Jean-Cyprien! I just tested and see same thing - it creates EXE file without problem with this icon, but then it doesn't work. Tomorrow we'll try to figure out why this problem occurs. Please also let me know what version of Window you have installed? Lin, Peter, Windows XP supports icons with True-Color. And Windows Vista and Windows 7 support icons up to 256x256. One icon file can be a container of multiple icons with different sizes and colors.
-
Gérard, Thank you! I've reproduced the issue with template you have published (slideshow with the modified icon doesn't play). It will be fixed soon. Regarding first problem: - Please could you ask that user of DiaporamaForum send me the icon file which he've used? - And if I understand rightly - the problem comes when he press "Create" button in PicturesToExe? - Please ask him about version of Windows.

Thank you, Gary for sending me source files of this project in ZIP archive. We'll try to investigate this issue.
-
Geoff, Yes, it will work.
-
Slideshow in an executable file for Mac temporarily doesn't support "Run slideshow" commands in Beta 3 yet.
-
Gary, If it possible please send all source files of your project where you can observe this problem. It seems to be a combinations of parameters and times which cause this issue. The problem definitely in PicturesToExe.
-
Tom, I've reproduced this issue. Will be fixed in Beta 4. Thank you.thedom, I confirm this bug. Will be fixed later. Thanks! It happened because we're adding 3D transformations for objects to the slideshow's engine. Sorry for such stupid bugs which I've missed in first beta releases.
-
Thanks, Henri! Rob, Thanks, we'll fix this issue.wideangle, During past 18 months when we've started work on Mac output option and future Mac's slideshow editor we also released PC's versions 5.5, 5.6 and now 5.7 Beta with a lot of new features.
-
Yes, of course.
-
Please try to with a new simple slideshow. Add several images, no music and run it again. Also slideshow require Intel based Mac and MacOSX 10.4 or later.

I'd like to reply on a question from French forum. Slideshow for Mac created in PicturesToExe Deluxe 5.7 is a folder with files. If you want to publish it in Internet, pack this folder into a ZIP archive. On Mac this folder looks as a single executable file (like EXE file in Windows). Double click on this "folder" will run the slideshow.
