  1. Probably not related to file save/missing media problem but I notice if I place the mouse pointer over the full screen option then preview freezes and closes after a few seconds. During the preview freeze audio continues to play. Thanks, Tom
  2. Hi Rosy, Jane walks and runs better backwards than I do forwards. Slow Motion can be really smooth if you record in higher frames per second like the Slo Mo Guys. Also AI is being used for depth frame interpolation. Thanks, Tom
  3. Hi Igor, The files are all in the same documents directory where the .pteav is produced. I have attached a small example. It might work sometimes but not others. When it does not work it creates a .pteav file with missing media. Thanks, Tom Whirligig1_Sep27-2023_13-32-47.zip
  4. If I try to overwrite an existing filename with .pteav file the progress bars stays frozen at 0% for a few seconds an then PTE closes without error message. Mac M2 Sonoma 14.0 PTE 11.0.9 Thanks, Tom * It appears that PTE is having trouble finding the media to create the .pteav file.
  5. To create unique videos. I know Davinci Resolve, iMovie, Final Cut, Premiere, and Filmora have this option. Shutter Encoder is the only one I have tried that has required transcoding before playback. Thanks, Tom
  6. Hi Rosy, Very nice. I didn't know you were a poet. Hard to believe the section of Riverdance music was almost 30 years ago. Thanks, Tom
  7. Hi Rosy, Interesting to learn about the old steam engines. We have no railroads in the area where I live. Probably closest working railroad is 225km inland. Thanks, Tom
  8. Hi Rosy, If you have a google account you should be able to edit your files for free. https://www.adobe.com/acrobat/hub/edit-a-pdf-in-google-drive.html#:~:text=Locate your PDF within Google, now start to make edits. Also, if you have Microsoft Office you should be able to edit your PDF files. https://support.microsoft.com/en-au/office/edit-a-pdf-b2d1d729-6b79-499a-bcdb-233379c2f63a Tom
  9. Hi Igor, It is only a problem if there is just one short video. If I add more images after the video it works. A very rare problem that would probably never show up in real slideshow. Thanks, Tom
  10. Hi Igor, Project Backup file https://we.tl/t-jCyFV1YGhi Thanks, Tom
  11. Some image editors (like Pixelmator Pro) allow you to save an image as MP4. This creates a high quality single keyframe video file. I can then set the duration in PTE to 5 seconds. It then works in Object and Animation editor but not in mini player or preview. I can Publish as MP4 but not as .pteav file. Not a serious problem but interesting. Example file from https://pixabay.com/photos/blue-bird-nature-indigo-animal-8186653/ Thanks, Tom Mac M2 Ventura 13.5 PTE 11.0.8 Image_Frame.mp4
  12. Hi, I have a M1 Mac mini 16GB and M2 Mac mini 16 GB. The Sample Project encoding times below. HW encoding is faster than CPU encoding on my Macs. Tom
  13. I have been testing AirParrot 3 to stream to my bedroom HDTV. It is an older Sony HDTV with one HDMI port and that does not have integrated support for any of the 3 popular wireless display technologies. Instead I have a Google Chromecast device. I have Airparrot 3 setup as Display 2 when using PTE so I can preview my slideshows on the HDTV without using a HDMI cable. I had previously tried using Google Chrome Cast Desktop option but was not happy with the results. Available for Windows and Mac. I use the Mac version. There is a downloadable 7 day demo version. https://www.airsquirrels.com/airparrot/https://www.airsquirrels.com/airparrot/ My Chromecast device. It is often on sale at Amazon. I think mine was $25 for the 4K version. https://store.google.com/us/product/chromecast_google_tv?hl=en-US 3 popular display technologies https://newtechworld.net/understanding-miracast-vs-chromecast-vs-airplay-technologies/ Tom
  14. If I remember correctly the Windows 64 bit for both .exe and .zip limit is 4 GB. If you create a .pteav you can create larger file sizes. I remember testing a few years ago and I had a slideshow of many videos with a duration of days. Then you can associate the player in Windows to run the .pteav files. Tom
  15. Hi jmc, Thanks. I have not been very active in the forum due to spending time outdoors in nice summer weather. I have an idea to make a Tetris style transition that is different than Pascal's great geometric text transitions. Not sure how long it will take to create. Tetris style transition using 5 shapes https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tetromino Tom
  16. Windows laptops usually have an option to run from the CPU graphics (Intel HD) or external graphics( Nvidia). I think if you right click under properties I think you can change the graphics mode. You might try the opposite to see if the problem is better or worse. Tom
  17. Hi Igor, I can use my Windows PC when I need to make a bold cursive fonts. I did find a possible API that I will send by DM. Thanks, Tom
  18. Hi Igor, Thanks. Font substitution also happens with Italics. Tom
  19. While testing some Google fonts I noticed that many do not include bold versions. When the bold option is enabled PTE does a font substitution. If possible create a synthetic bold version of the font like Boxy SVG does. I think Photoshop has Faux Bold option too. Many graphic editors just have regular font with bold disabled. Also the font rendering on Festive looks different. Examples from here https://fonts.google.com/?category=Handwriting Thanks, Tom Mac Ventura 13.4.1 PTE AV Studio 11 Pro 11.0.6 (Apple Silicon)
  20. I sometimes run First Aid from the Disk Utility app to check for errors. I have not had problems with PTE Apple Silicon for Mac in version 11.0.6 and Ventura 13.4.1. Tom
  21. We have copy and paste objects, but no duplicate object/layer. It would save time there was a duplicate option and is an option in some other programs. I don't know if control D or cmd D is available. I think on the Macs it moves a layer down. Tom
  22. Hi Rosy, Unfortunately my IP address is outside the UK so I would probably need to use a VPN server in the UK to watch the show. Tom
  23. Generative AI is very interesting. The background fills are sometimes very good. Mona Lisa has been a favorite subject for fills. Tested in photopea. One image I told it to fill with mountains. For the other image I did not tell it to fill with anything and it added some random objects. I have no idea what machine learning algorithm it uses to fill in with objects. The colors it chose are very good overall but the blending is not perfect. AI is also being used to create music, design, and write. AI copyright is a hot topic. Maybe some day PTE will have AI. "PTE, design a presentation lasting 3 minutes about my holiday in Hawaii using my photos and tropical music." Tom
  24. Interesting that Pixelmator Pro, a popular graphics editor for Macs did not work properly. Affinity Photo 2 and Logoist 4 had no problems with the font. I emailed Pixelmator Pro support but I doubt it will be fixed as fast as it was in PTE. Tom
  25. Off topic, but interesting technology. Caltech has created a virtual globe of planet Mars (Google Earth also has a lower resolution version of Mars) with a combined 5.7 trillion pixels of the Mars planet surface. https://murray-lab.caltech.edu/CTX/V01/SceneView/intro_c.html Tom
