  1. vbl2007 Once again, many many thanks for the great styles, and for your generosity. Take care, Regards, wideangle
  2. At the end of the day you really have two different projects - a short one and a long one - so just save them with two different names. Why try to keep everything as one project? Regards wideangle
  3. It is another impressive piece of work from you Paul. Many thanks. Personally, I like to see backgrounds that are plainer, and not too “busy”, so that they do not distract and take the eye away from the main images, but that is just my preference. Regards wideangle
  4. Some great effects, Paul. Thank you. Regards wideangle
  5. Some interesting and different ideas! Many, many thanks for sharing. Regards wideangle
  6. Hi Jon To transfer a project from your old laptop to your new PC, do the following: Open the project on your laptop. Go to File->Create Backup in Zip. Make a copy of this zipped file on a USB stick and put it on your new PC. Unzip the file. You should see the Project file and all the associated picture files. Repeat the process for any other projects you wish to transfer. Regards wideangle
  7. Dave Yes, the same thing happens with me on 10.0.13 Build 5 Regards wideangle
  8. Hi Bob On your last point, go to Settings->Preferences->Project and tick the box which says "Load last saved project on Startup" Regards wideangle
  9. Malcolm Look in the General Discussion section of the forum. There you will see the thread which shows that 10.0.13 is the latest version. Just download and install it over the top of your current version. This thread also shows you ‘What’s New’ in each change. Regards wideangle
  10. Hi Brian That was an entertaining sequence to watch.....an enjoyable potted (see what I did there!) history of a season in the garden. Enjoy the fruits of your labours. (Oops, I did it again!) Well done to you and your daughter. Regards wideangle
  11. You could put an entry in the section ‘Suggestions for next versions’. Regards wideangle
  12. Hi 1. After you have applied the Star Wars style to one of your slides, go into Objects and Animation. 2. In the bottom right hand corner you will see all the objects, and any with a white letter T denote a text object., whose contents you can change to your own liking. 3. Click on one of the text objects to highlight it. 4. Now look under the Properties tab to see what that text is. 5. Delete that text and replace it with your own. Regards wideangle
  13. Hi Aleina Yes, I use that method from time to time as well, because it is much quicker than making the changes from within PT AV's template. However, the problem with it is that if you want to have your second set of photos in a fixed order, you have to take care and spend time making sure that this particular photo is named 23.jpg, and that particular photo is named 37.jpg etc etc. Alternatively you would have to spend time dragging slides around in the slide view to achieve the correct order. Regards wideangle
  14. Hi Ian I am sure that everyone has their own preferred approach to a workflow, which they are comfortable with. My preferred approach is to use the Backup in Zip method, which I would argue is much simpler and quicker than making use of templates. This is my approach. I start a new project and insert components from wherever they may be stored on my computer (which could be from many different folders.) I then do a Backup in Zip, which automatically collects together a copy of everything I've used, into one zipped file. Why spend lots of time setting up a dedicated folder and then looking for all your files, and putting copies of them into that folder, when Backup in Zip does it in one click! As I develop my project I will occasionally do a new Backup in Zip to bring it up to date. The other advantage is that I automatically have an instant independent security backup copy of my work, and it is already compressed to save space. I have a folder which I use for all of my PT AV Backup in Zip files, so I just save them into this one folder each time I do a project. So this one folder contains a zipped backup for security purposes, of every PT AV project that I have ever produced. That makes it easy, if I wish, to copy over to a second drive, for even added security. While there are certain merits to the use of templates in PT AV, in my view they are somewhat misnamed. To me, a template should be a structure with blank placeholders where you can drop items in to create a new finished product. Let's consider an example in PT AV Studio of a basic slideshow project with, say, 100 slides each consisting of one image. You save that as a template, and then decide that you want a second slideshow but with 100 different images. With a true template you would just fill the placeholders with the new images (often with drag and drop) With PT AV, you load the template, then have to visit each slide, replace the file with the new filename etc.......a lengthy process. There are a few occasions when I may use the templates. For example, let's say I have a project with a good general introductory sequence, and similarly, a good concluding sequence, both of which I may want to use again sometime. I would delete all the intermediate slides in the project, just leaving the start and end sequences, and save that as the template. I see no advantage at all in saving a whole project as a template, when Backup in Zip does a better job. .............but, as I said earlier, everyone has their own preference! Regards wideangle
  15. Hi Ian The template method and the Create Backup in Zip method both do the job for you. One slight advantage of the latter, if relevant, is that it gives you a quick way of transferring a project, say between a desktop and a laptop. Regards wideangle
  16. Canico If I’m not mistaken I think that generating the yellow arrows that you refer to in Barry’s video, is done by a tool that is part of the software which he uses for making those recordings. (Apologies if this is not correct) Regards wideangle
  17. Jenny Also take a look in the thread called Text Object, where Barry Beckham has just posted a video about keyframes. Regards wideangle
  18. Jenny The file that Dave has uploaded is a Style so you need to import it into PT AV as a style before you can see what it does. The online user guide may be useful for you to browse, to get an idea of what both styles and keyframes are all about. Regards wideangle
  19. Eddie I was starting to type a similar thing, but Barry is quicker off the mark and has just beaten me to it!!! (Barry - could this form an idea for videos, aimed at new users, which are misc and random collections of short sharp snippets of How to Do’s in PT AV Studio, and even Photoshop?) Regards wideangle
  20. Thanks from me too, Paul - really like them! Regards wideangle
  21. I watched the demo video then imported all 10 transitions one by one without closing the window. I got very much the same result as Goddi, with multiple repetitions. (I don't have AVG so I didn't see that message). After closing PTE AV (10.0.11 build 8) and then checking the transitions, only 3 of the 10 were there. The rest had disappeared. I guess it's either a problem with the transitions or a bug in PTE AV. Regards wideangle
  22. Hi Paul These are all very different from the usual thing, and very entertaining. Many thanks as usual, for sharing. Regards wideangle
  23. Bert Yes, in the past I’ve done what Dom suggests, and it should work. It is a good idea to look at your PTE AV Preferences settings. That tells you where you are storing your styles and transitions etc. Regards wideangle
  24. I don’t have the style, but just a thought. Do you need to start the closing sequence with the same two photos you used at the end of the opening sequence? Regards wideangle
  25. Hi Rosemary When I click on the link I see a message which says "Couldn't preview the file", but underneath that is a blue button to click on labelled Download. (I don't see an Unzip file) Regards wideangle
