Perhaps the answer is not to convert to mono, it won't save much size and I am not sure the slight difference in sound file size will have any impact on the show. Barry

I have heard some music in the past from a music generator........................... It was worse than useless in that it was so orrid, it wouldn't matter how good your images were any viewer would be reaching for the stop button 10 seconds into the slide show. Unless of course there has been some miracle and it has improved about 10,000% Barry

Thanks Ken. I can't get any of those options at all, as I said the page just jumps to the bottom when I select options. Right down the bottom left of the screen I get a messade that sayd Done, but with errors on the page, perhaps it is something to do with this being a business machine that goes through a company shared Service Centre. No, that doesn't do anything to help Ken. When I hit the options the page jumps to the bottom and displays nothing. The tiny triangle indicates there are drop down options, but it doesn't work on this machine. Barry

The forum is like a rocket this morning, lets hope Igors problems are solved with this. Is there any way of having the posts all display as they did before. I don't find all the replies shown in a condensed form with just a few words from the entry that easy to read Barry

Well, the forum is beginning to be a right pain in the ..............whatsit For me 16.20 Wednesday 12th October it is eratic and often so slow its not usable. I was going to upgrade the one on my web site, but I don't think I will bother. Barry

This is an issue that you need to deal with Igor. If a panel comes on screen with finish in the bottom cormer 99% of people will click it without reading what is says. That panel needs to say. Don't close this panel or PTE untill your DVD has been written. Either that or you need another "Are you Sure?" panel popping up when the finish button is clicked. Practically everyone falls for this and then cannot find the avi. Me too the first time if I am being honest. Barry

Surely you can run a synchonised show and either go to a web site when the show ends or stop on a page containing buttons that have links to a web page. I do that all the time on my tutorial CD's Barry www.beckhamdigital.co.uk

John I think AlRobin has said it all, I demonstrate PTE all over the place and the problem isn't with that. Are you sure those who mentioned the word illegal were not referring to the old chestnut, music copyright. Barry

I had a call from a customer of my tutorial CD's who bought them some time ago and suddendly his system is picking up a virus when it didn't before. I explained the problem and referred him to this forum. Thanks for all the info, my reply to him sounded well informed and up to date thanks to you guys and Igor. These things happen Barry

I added a letter and over typed another, how daft is that, all fixed now and a good lesson in saving the project file and keeping everything in one folder. Barry

Many thanks to Steve S, you found my weakness, spelling and with all these spell checks we have too. Anyway, I have corrected it thanks. Lines around a picture. I run my monitor at high resolution and find that a thin line suits my personal tastes. I see many slide shows set against a white background and while they may show great for those running 1024*768, for me I see light areas of their images bleeding off into the background spoiling an image. The same is true for black backgrounds and dark areas of the pictures. It sometime looks as though someone has taken a bite out of an image. Now the obvious answer if a line is not required is to find a neutral background, or deal with the images sufficiently so they don't need either. I have used those options too. Ron.....As I say above, not all of us fill the screen with a 1024*768 image. Michel I am not sure I understand what you are saying here. When we look at this slideshow with a display 1280x1024, the border around permit to emphasize the picture on the background. This border is very small and is in the way for me. But for a projector, it's another problem I think. The border is as small as I can make it, but to reduce the impact a grey colour can be used instead of white. The line is not a problem on my current Mitsubishi projector, but it used to be with my old Sony and the line on one side was cut off. Ireland Music I expected some comment about the snap music change to the short, but more foot tapping music and back again in this sequence. I liked the effect and almost did it a third time with the hand holding the rocks, but her indoors didn't like the foot tapping section at all.. I have a Mitsubish XD 400 and did a seminar in a lecture theatre in March where we projected onto a screen that is normally used for movies. Its huge and so we made use of the size and flatness of the screen and projected a huge image, The Mitsubish XD 400 worked a treat, very bright and able to create a massive picture on screen, good enough for 200 people to view comfortably. I use a scouring pad and and a powdered abrasive. It cleans finger prints off the screen a treat, but my pictures are looking a bit soft. Sorry Bob I am not taking the mick, I just couldn't resist it Barry

One thing to remember about Windows XP is that sometimes it will not allow you to unzip a folder. It is a protection bult into the software. If that happens, right click the .zip file and go to properties. From there you can unblock the zip file and it will then open. bbdigital
