  1. Stephen, The simplest way is to resize a colour image to your chosen size then save it as a jpeg image. Then convert this image to black & white and resave it as a b&w jpeg image. Now just add the colour image to the slide list in your PTE Project and then add the B/W image immediately after the colour image then use the Project Options to fade one image into the other. Ron
  2. Hello Bert, Welcome to the PTE User Forum. I did a tutorial called 'Making your first slide show' that is still available, You might like to take a look here: HERE: Regards, Ron West
  3. Hi Igor, I have read this review and feel that, while it will help to showcase your software, it does not go into any great depth. Pictures To Exe is an eccellent software program and it deserves much more recognition. It is up there with the very best slide show creation packages and easily competes with much more expensive programs. You and your team are experts in this field and I conratulate you all! I have been with you from the beginning and, have seen Pictures To Exe grow into its current version, who knows where it will be in the near future. I look forward to version 7.5 with eager anticipation. Very well done! Ronnie West.
  4. I will certainly add a link to this demo on my own web site (www.ronniewestdigital.co.uk) Ron
  5. Hi Igor, I suppose it is only sensible for Microsoft to introduce this kind of security so we will just have to accept it. However, your example screen shots (attached) that shows us the warning dialog, might put people off from using PTE and they may decide NOT to run the exe. So, your example slide show seems to be the right way to go I think. Ron West
  6. Hi Davy, You said: Or are you referencing the imac via it's own speakers,in comparison to the PC sound system? If it's via the imac speakers try hooking up to the PC speakers instead. Yes I am referring to the internal speakers on the iMac. I don't think that I can hook up the PC system to the MAC because I have the Creative Audigy sound system and this requires a sound card inserted into an internal PCI slot within the PC itself. The only connection on the Mac is a standard output jack on the rear. Ron.
  7. At the moment I use a 'Creative Sound Blaster Audigy2 ZS' to enhance the sound quality on my Windows XP system and the sound produced by this is excellent. I recently purchased an iMac 27" and the first thing I noticed was that the sound (although good) just did not match up to the Audigy2 system. I am wondering if there is similar hardware available for the Mac? Any suggestions would be most welcome. Ron.
  8. SOLVED! Silly me, I realised what I had done. I had recently been working in Photoshop and was using the CMYK colour mode. PTE only seems to recognise the RGB mode so that is why I was getting the wrong result. We live and learn! Ron
  9. Hi Dave, Strange that the actual images are displaying correctly, it is only the title slides (made in Photoshop) that don't. This is the best screenshot that I can manage.
  10. I created a test slide sized at 2560x1440 pixels and when I viewd this in a PTE Project I got a shock (see attached screenshot) Is there a reason for this weird outcome?
  11. Thanks Guys! The creating as a Zip solution works just fine. I am very impressed with the way that my slide show now look on the Mac. Never realised the quality would be so good. I get a little jerkiness when I use the 3D transitions but that is because I do not have sufficien memory (4mb). I am going to upgrade to the maximum of 16mb next week. Ron West
  12. I have created a slide show and used the option to 'Create exe for Mac' It seems to have created a folder with a number of files within it. Being a newbie to the Mac computer,I am confused. How do you transfer the Mac EXE over to the Mac for playing? Ron
  13. Hi Tony Falla, You seem to be aware of the advantages/disadvenges of running Windows on a Mac, so I wonder if you are on Skype because I would like to get you views in more detail if possible. How about it? Ronnie West.
  14. I am getting the impression that Parallels seems to be the ether option, or am I wrong? In view of the comment made about Bootcamp not supporting XP I am in a state of confusion because I am just about to purchase an original instal disc (expensive). If I consider using parallels, will I have to get windows 7 instead? Ronnie
  15. Hi Tom, Thanks for the thumbs up, I will have to make a decision about getting a Mac very soon because I am now getting the usual problems with my 5 year old Windows system. Can you confirm that a Windows partition (via Bootcamp) will run XP Pro and all other programs particularly Pictures To Exe. If I do go down the Mac route, I would be very grateful to have any advice and assistance that you can offer. Regards, Ronnie West.
  16. I have heard about the 'BOOTCAMP' software that will partition a Mac internal drive so that Windows XP can be installed and run on the Mac. Has anyone tried to do this and, if so, how succesfull has it been please. Ronnie West.
  17. Dave, Still can't download from Beechbrool so I must be doing somethin wrong. What is the correct sequence for getting a download for the 'KeyCopy' tool please? Ronnie.
  18. Hi Dave, I am not quite back yet because I think that I need a new Hard Drive. Tried a low level format but it 'aint gonna work. I started it at 3 pm yesterday and it is still running at present (9.30am. Surely something is wrong with the drive? I am working on my laptop right now and will give Beechbrook another try. Regards, Ronnie West
  19. I am watching this thread with a smile on my face. I only asked for a copy of the utility that was made by Stu! I had that sent to me within an hour, thanks to Ken Cox. The rest of this thread seems to have taken a completely different path and we are now being treated to a workshop on computer storage management. I agree with almost all that has been said so far but I would just like to say this, I have two drives in my computer and another 6 external usb drives. I do understand the need for good housekeeping! From many years ago, I learned to keep my C drive clear of all data and it contains just the OS and the software programs. Cheers! Ronnie West.
  20. Hello Gerade, Very kind of you to provide a link to the French site. A very useful link to have. Ronnie.
  21. Hi Dave, Yes I have been a PTE User for many years now. I should explain that I had a complete computer failure last week that meant that I had to carry out a complete format of my main 'C' drive. Obviously I lost all information on that drive so the 'KeyCopy' utility would have been of no use on the newly formatted drive. However, I did have PTE on my laptop so the KeyCopy was able to find my reg details on that. Sadly, I lost my copy of the utility because I had saved it on my old C drive. Before you say anything, YES I have now saved the utility on a CD. Thanks to Ken Cox who very quickly sent me a copy. Ronnie.
  22. For some strange reason I am unable to download from Beechbrook. Can somebody please email me the 'KeyCopy' tool so I can retrieve my PTE Registration key. Ronnie West My email: ronniebootwest@ntlworld.com
  23. Hi Barry, I knew, as soon as I read your post, that it would make a whole load of people respond - you have the knack! Well done anyway, it is time that this kind of discussion was debated I think. Brian, You say that new users may sometimes find it difficult to understand the tutorials that are available, I agree with you because I have been baffled by some myself. That is the one main reason why I, up until recently, I made my own pdf's available to forum members, free of any charge. I pride myself on providing easy to understand tutorials aimed at basic and advanced users alike and, judging by the comments on my web site, most agree with me. I will watch this topic every day because it will run and run. Ronnie West
  24. Thankyou for that info, just what I needed. Ron
