  1. Paul, Why not upload your slide show to either Beechbrook or Mediafire and ask for some constructive comments. Ron.
  2. Dave, Thank you for your quick response to my request. Ron
  3. Hi Lin, Excellent example and a process that I think could be used by many. On thier behalf, can I request that you make a quick tutorial on just how you did this please? Ron
  4. John, Thanks for your suggestion, I will certainly give it a try. Dave, Can you provide the steps required to create what you are suggesting please?
  5. I am very impressed with the way that version 7 is progressing and the speed with which Igor and his team correct the bugs that we are finding is second to none. Very well done indeed Igor and congratulations to you and your team! However, there is a small question that I would like an answer to. When I add a video clip to a blank slide it displays perfectly. However, I would like to add a 1 pixel white line around the blank slide so that it will match all other slides in the slide show (1024x768). How can this be done please? Ron
  6. Since I became involved in creating my own web site, I had to learn the terminology surrounding the use of 'Containers'. I found the whole process quite difficult. When making a slide show, the user will want things to be kept very simple and easy to understand. Therefore, I agree with the Barry (who has put forward his arguemnt very clearly) and it gets my vote. Ron.
  7. Hi Tom, I was beginning to think that you had fallen off the edge of the planet! I am using software called 'AVS Video Converter' and have found that it works well for me. It will convert anything to anything. Ron.
  8. This is a good point Peter. There does seem to be a few problems being highlighted with 'sound' at the moment and I guess that we will have to wait for Igor and his team to sort them out. I do agree with you however, that when a video clip is added to a slide show, the background audio track should them be muted so that all we hear is the audio of the video clip. Ron
  9. Hello Tom, You are probably right, I hadn't noticed that this bug had already been reported. It is strange that a normal project file preview and also a standard EXE file, play perfectly. It is only when the standard project is converted to h264 (mp4) that the sound problem arises. For forum members, who use the WDHD kit, this will be an annoying bug. However, I am quite sure that Igor will have it fixed in no time at all! Ron
  10. Igor, I have done as you suggested and I am now unable to get the exception error report. I have concluded that I must have made a small mistake when I originally carried out my first test of Version 7.1 because everything now appears to work OK. However, I have now discovered that, after adding video clips to a project and then publishing (convert) to an mp4 file (H264) using the 'HD Video for PC & Mac' option, the sound in the video clips does not play. Am I missing some important video settings?
  11. Brilliant! You have used most of the features in PTE and your command of the new 'adding video' option is inspiring. Please let us see more of your work in future because it is a lesson to us all! Ron
  12. Igor, I think that I may have discovered the reason why I was getting the exception error message (my previous post) I used a test slide show that I had created in version 6.5 and then added the video clip (using version 7). I recreated the slide show in version 7 and then added the video clip again - this time I DID NOT get the exception error message.
  13. I have been able to video clips (mp4 and Divx) to a test slide show. Both played back perfectly with sound. However, when previeing the show (or when playing the final exe file) I get the following exception message: What does this mean please? Ron West
  14. Hi Lin, You are the first to produce a demo and very good it is to! Now we can all stand by for the deluge that will surely follow. I will wait until I have mastered the new techniques before dipping my toes in. Bet Barry Beckham will be next? This new feature will be very well received, even by those who were negative to start with (like me for instance) I know that I will now love it. Igor is a wizard and the quality of this new feature knocks spots off of the main competition, i.e. PROSHOW GOLD. Well done to Igor and his team. Ron West
  15. Hello Douglas, You have already asked for(and received)my own pdf tutorials, so you now know that they are all totally free of charge. Anyone else on the forum who would like them, please email me and I will snd them on to you. Ron
  16. Or you can Zip the exe file and upload to 'Mediafire' and then send the link that they provide, to anyone via email.
  17. Barry, Excellent photographs and 8 out of ten for the slide show! I agree with Ken and feel that the rotating trees are an irritation but the actual images are spot on! With regard to your comment about the sounds of the rainforest, why not use a portable recorder to record the actual sound and use this as you background music? The piano does not sound quite right in my view. Ron
  18. This is good news and I expect that the 'Video Buffs' are getting excited now. It is interesting to note that Igor is expecting to increase the quality of images, I think that this is exceptional news because the quality is already the best in the industry. Igor and his team are to be congratulated! Ron
  19. WAV files should be avoided in slide shows created with PTE. mp3 files are the way to go! It is also better to choose the standard mp3 format rather that mp3 pro. Ron
  20. The option to insert a blank slide, while very useful, seems only to add a BLACK slide. If you want to add a different colour, what then? I just revert to creating mine in Photoshop because I sometimes will want to add a texture or noise, so that the blank will then match my other slides in the show. Ron
  21. I tried the 'Blue Ray' route and found it to be a little on the complicated and expensive side so I went the 'AVCHD' route. I have written a couple of tutorials on the subject and I will gladly sent you a link to where uyou can download them. Just send me your email address and the link will be sent by returen. Ron
  22. If you were to follow a logical workflow and create a suitable file structure before making your slide shows, this problem will never arise in the future. Send me your email address and I will let you have a copy of my tutorial on creating a suitable file structure for all of of your future slide shows. Ron
  23. Gilbert, I send me your email address and I will send you a copy of my pdf tutorial on creating your first slide show. It might help you to create a proper 'file structure' that will keep all of your images and sound files in a proper folder. It also suggest where you should keep your PTE project and exe files. I hope that it will assist you. Regards, Ronnie West
  24. I am also confused Andrew, I was expecting your flash shows to run directly from your web site (like mine do at My Site: If you want to do the same as Barry Beckham, then you will have to purchsae the 'Camtasia' software and it 'aint cheap! Ron
  25. Hello Greg, A few years ago I created an 'Album Slide Show' from a template made by The Dom (a fellow forum member) and I think that this might be something like what you are looking for. I have uploaded the slide show to Mediafire for anyone to look at. Here is the link: Click Here If it is what you think you can use, I will send you pdf tutorial, showing how to create your own album. Regards, Ron
