I am looking to produce a show (1920x1080 px) with a slide for each of the 160 presidents of a local club! This has involved photographing some very old prints (some from the 1870s). Each image will have its own slide along with individual text boxes stating the year and name of the individual. Other text boxes may be included depending on available information about the individual. Is there a way to align the centre of these text boxes so they appear neatly on screen? The size of the "name" text box will obviously vary per individual. Can this alignment be incorporated into a style once achieved? I am looking to make a "style" to incorporate the name of the club and the foundation date on every slide. Thanks for any help.

In any program, whether it’s Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, after adding a sound effect, the main background audio needs to be reduced to 75 percent. If the sound effect is barely audible, you can boost the audio file in Audition or find a similar file online with higher volume. Otherwise, the sound effects will not be heard. In version 11, I reduced the background sound. Yes, some sounds are very quiet.

When creating a transition, the sound is set and running. You cannot replace an audio file from a folder or from a transition in documents. The audio file. 2 seconds. The pre-installed audio files work perfectly.

I added a single clip. Changed the speed to 200%. It changed the stated video duration but it did not speed up the clip. Also, I could not publish the show to an .mp4. The publish window just sat there and never did anything. It did create a 1KB file with the name but that's all. I went back in and tried to change the speed from 200% back to 100%. Moved the slider then manually typed in the number. Closed the window and PTEAV just locked up and I had to "End Process". I started over with another clip. I changed the speed to 50%. That worked ok but then I tried to trim the end of the video and the window never showed me the end. I could go in and trim the video first and then set the speed to 50% and that worked fine. Just for the record, I experiment with ticking the "Interpolation" box for this video, but the video then became quite blurry. Apparently the interpolation is only intended for extremely slow videos. I tried again with the second clip and trimmed in first then set to 200% speed. Duration changed, but not speed. Went back and again attempted to reset speed to 100% and the little display window went black and then when I closed the Trim and Adjust Speed window, PTEAV once again locked up and I had to shut it down. I tried one more time and trimmed first and adjusted speed to 200%. Duration changed, actual video speed did not. This one did publish. Setting video speed definitely has some issues. Let me know if you need further information. I did go into V11 and set the speed on both videos I had tried to 200% speed and they did indeed speed up and I was able to save them. FYI, I am on a PC running Win 24H2 with 64 GB memory.

Regarding the volume of the new special effects, I do have the impression that the volume is rather low, even at a setting of 200. Compared to the standard music volume (100), I think a sound effect should be audible above this volume. So, to be audible, the volume should be adjusted (setting higher than 200). Or the volume of the special sound effect should be at least as loud as the standard music volume (100), with the option of increasing it to 200, as is currently possible with the music. When I need to do this, I create it once, then copy and paste to the following slides/images. This saves setting all the parameters each time, and you just have to edit the text. Hope that helps?

Igor, would it be possible to add sounds from my collection to this library? I'd like to add bird sounds, (female/male) laughter, alarm clocks, ticking clocks, kissing sounds, typewriter sounds (would be great for text animation), drops of water, streams, gunshots, sea waves, and more. And of course, I'd like to see a sound waveform so I can see the beginning and end of the sound, its peak and trough. Thanks for such an interesting new feature in the new version.

When adding a sound to a slide, the sound object cannot be replaced.

I hope this dedicated timeline will appear in v12, as it is really necessary if we want to use this feature.

Ok...But what is the 'Start Time' used for? If the 'Offset' is the time where the 'Sound Object' starts, I'm not sure what the 'Start Time' is used for. Gary

Dave, This is the default sound library included with the program. We'll continue to expand it. Users can add any other sound files to a slide/transition through the Open file window (by clicking the Add Sound object button on the top toolbar).

Igor, Can you explain how the user can add sounds to the SOUND LIBRARY? DG Main/all/styles and transitions/sounds??

Gary, Glad that you found a reason with the issue with a wrong offset. Currently Sound objects are not displayed in the timeline of the editor as waveforms. Probably in future version. The main idea of a new Sound object is to play short sound effects (1-3 seconds). Examples included in the Sound Library which appeared in Beta 3.

Gary, try the simplest thing: 1. Add a video with fast motion in a scene. 2. Set speed 5-10% 3. Tick the option "Interpolate frames". Then create another version with unticked "Interpolate frames" and compare results in a fullscreen preview.

Yes, that's correct for V12. When video speed is not 100% or when you add keywords, the sound is muted automatically. The same was in previous versions (for speeds not equal to 100%). We plan to enable sound for the modified speed, but I'm not sure how long it will take to write this code.

When key points are added or the clip speed is changed in an MP4 file with sound, the audio disappears. This creates a problem when creating transitions with files that are slightly longer than 2 seconds, because the audio disappears when the speed has to be changed to fit the video to the 2-second transition. This is normal.

(Beta 3) Ok... I just set only the Offset to 12 seconds and it played at 12 seconds. Good. I was also setting the Start Time to 12 seconds but that did not work. But...the sound does not appear in the Timeline for any adjustments. Should it? Gary

Hi, In PTE AV Studio 12 we added the Sound Library with camera shutters, clicks, page turns, and whooshes. Install new Beta 3 to try his feature. You can also add your own sound files. Adjust the volume and offset from the beginning of the slide.

Greetings, I am trying out the new 'Sound Object'. I put in a 'Bells Only' sound clip. And then I set the Start Time to be at 12 seconds. However, it does not play the sound at all. Also, when viewing in the Timeline, I don't see the wave form to make any audio level adjustments. What am I doing wrong??? Gary

Igor, Thanks. the two additional buttons for trimming will be very useful. But I still don't understand how to use the Interpolate Frames and Speed Key points and Speed. I can get it to do something but have no idea what I'm doing. A tutorial would be helpful.😂 Gary
