PicturesToExe 5 works with any video cards, including Geforce 7. But I'm afraid Geforce 7100 is not enough fast video card. It's the slowest video card in Geforce series. I just checked specifications on NVIDIA web site and found that: - Geforce 7600 in 4 times faster than Geforce 7100. - Geforce 7950 in 12 times faster than Geforce 7100. Although model 7100 in Geforce 7 series, but even Geforce 5700 works much faster. If it possible, please upgrade your video card. I'm really sorry about this problem, but we can't do anything with it. Pan/Zoom effects require more fast video card.

I'm apologize for this problem! Probably I'm wrong, but Geforce 5600 much faster than Geforce 7100. In v5.00 we did all for ideally smooth playback of Pan/Zoom effects. But slow video card or bad drivers sometimes may break our efforts. Please try to install latest drivers, maybe it will help p.s. on my PC even high activity of some program in background doesn't affect on Pan/Zoom effects.

Dominique, I spoked about: I'm sure it will work in beta 9.Simple virtual editing functions like cropping and fade in/out will be in v5.10 or v5.20
-
Please wait for beta 9
-
Thanks, I like this option, too. And it is in our plans for next version(s).
-
I'm very glad that it works now! p.s. it was a little modifed beta 8.

Lin, I feel that I may not say about bugs, because bugs/mistakes exists in any programs, including PicturesToExe. But I would hate that day if we will be obligated to follow to those "modern tendentions" in software industry.
-
According modern requirements, we obligated to say today (April 1, 2007) that PicturesToExe should be: 1) For Windows XP and Windows Vista only. Of course, XP with at least SP2 2) .NET Framework 2.0 (20 MB) should be installed. Microsoft .NET is an ideal technology for programs. Slow work? .NET is a cool technology! 3) The software is only several megabytes? Shame. The product should be at least 100 MB. Better 600 MB as any good modern software! 4) The product should connect to its web site periodically. For a noble purpose, of course. 5) The product should starts up during a long time to obligate user feel how powerful this product. Do you really want to see these improvements?

Dear Jean-Pierre! We all in WnSoft send you our best regards and wishes! We so obligated to you for your help. I will glad to see you again! With kindest regards, Igor

Kevin, (PicturesToExe v5.00 + VideoBuilder) I find that on slide shows where no Pan/Zoom effects we have quality better than in commercial DVD movies. With Pan/Zoom effects commercial discs a little better, but it happens because companies use high quality slow encoders and probably manual controls for fine adjusting.

I think we've found an excellent solution for this problem today. We'll apply a post-filter on loading of PNG/GIF images and automatically correct pixels in invisible areas. It will not slow down loading of slides because we'll do it on building of EXE file when we convert PNG/GIF to our own lossless format (as PNG). Aleksey told me that he will try to write this complex algorithm and PTE will care about this question. And for you no need to worry about this problem anymore. Dominique, Today we researched this question and found that Photoshop performs such correction after resizing or Blur effect (as you noticed).
-
Steve, Sorry, but it's only coincidence. Just we convert transparent GIF to 32-bit image and always set invisible pixels to black and in case of your mask (main color - black) it works.
-
Of course, DVD can't be compared with quality of EXE file on 1280x1024 screen! DVD has 720x480, but it is additionally interlaced and slight vertical blur to prevent flickering on TV. HD-DVD or Blu-Ray will be perfect solution when war of HD standards will finish.
-
Dominique, Please say me, did you try with modified mask PNG file I've attached? I will prepare video lesson tomorrow.
-
Steve, Photoshop and PixBuilder correctly set color of invisible pixels for the text in PNG. Otherwise we could observe problems with text loaded from PNG image (and games and multimedia programs). By the way, GIF is not solution - exactly same problem as with PNG.
-
Steve, I don't know how to fix it in Photoshop, but PixBuilder allows you to make this correction to an image. Dominique, Sorry, I didn't fully understood earlier that it is same problem in both cases. In this topic I described a solution for any mask. Steve, There is another simple solution that should help in case of your simple mask (black mask and angle is 0). In beta 9 you can set "Low quality of resizing" option and it fixes the problem because with this option there will be no smooth edges and no light pixels. I'm afraid this problem will be in any current or future slide show programs, because it's a particularity of Bilinear resampling. Bilinear resampling in many many times faster than Bicubic resampling and even latest powerful 3D video cards can perform only Bilinear resampling. Because of this author of slide show should care about preparing of correct mask.

Aliased masks and invisible colors Solution Sometimes you observed aliased edges of an mask image: The major reason of this problem - color of pixels in invisible part of an mask where alpha channel is 0%. In this case main color of mask is black (RGB: 0,0,0), but colors of invisible pixels is white (RGB: 255, 255, 255): Bilinear algorithm requires that pixels in invisible part of an image should be same as in visible. The only difference will be in alpha channel - 0 for invisible pixels and 255 for visible pixels. When you make PNG image with text on transparent background, Photoshop set all pixels to color of text (green for example), but pixels of text has alpha 255 and pixels of transparent background - 0%. Now we will open wrong mask in PixBuilder, choose invisible pixels in this mask using Magic Wand. Open main menu | Colors | Fill, choose Custom color and set R = 0, G = 0, B = 0, A = 0 Save PNG with mask. Now as you see no aliasing on edges: And finally you can make edges of a mask smooth if apply blur filter in Photoshop/PixBuilder or turn on "Blur" option for mask object in PicturesToExe. Here right PNG mask image I've corrected: http://www.wnsoft.com/test/Right_Mask.png P.S. Why this problem doesn't happen in Photoshop/PixBuilder when you compose similar scene with layers of a mask and images? These products use very slow algorithm of resampling which "knows" about this problem. But as you know resizing of 3000x2000 image may takes several seconds, but in slide show we have to use more fast algorithm (Bilinear) to provide 60 frames per second.
-
Dominique, Thanks! I have one idea about improving of film strip image. You can solving aliasing problem on edges of the film strip. Please see my new topic: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=6382

Why is PTE Quality so much better than Photodex
Igor replied to mightec's topic in General Discussion
Mike, Flash output (.flv and .swf with embedded video) in our plans (probably v5.10). Of course, I understand that currently it's impossible and we can't speak about it. -
Please tell me, what current state of spam problem after updating of the forum several days ago?
-
Steve, Yesterday we fully completed Text, Button objects, text comments, text macros. It will be in beta 9. Text comment in fact usual text object that can be fine corrected in Visual editor. See: Some other parameters of a Text object located at Common and Animation tabs.
-
Probably we'll add special option in the next version - zooming of slide (100% by default) for entire slide show.
-
Fred, Almost all commercial DVD movies I've seen use entire area of a DVD picture. On my opinion it better use all screen and only care about text labels that should be located inside safe zone. I use LCD projector connected via HDMI cable to my DVD player and I always uncheck safe zone option to see entire DVD picture on a screen.

Thanks, we'll try to solve this problem ASAP.

We'll install latest security updates for the forum today.
