Please wait for the next v5.00 beta #7 where I'll vastly improve quality of AVI video output. Also with next beta we'll present PicturesToExe Deluxe which can create and burn DVD-Video discs. As temporal solution, use smaller images when you create slide-show for DVD.
-
Please write him about this problem. Try our official demo with slide show: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/show/PteShow.zip (12 MB) Does it also starts long time? If yes, I'll write to them, too. p.s. I had absolutely another problem with AVG antivirus. After yesterday's update all programs that have tree of folders start on 20 seconds longer. But this problem disappeared itself after a half of a day.

I also asked for this. We already had two disasters: one with our forum hacked on past week and forum and site of TheDom which were hacked and destroyed. And I hope that we will not lose one more forum and site. p.s. I'm glad to say that we almost finished works on DVD burning module for PicturesToExe. And most likely you'll see PicturesToExe Deluxe in the next beta in 2 weeks.

We've thought about idea with optional alternate variant - player which will open and play slide show. This player could be downloaded from our WnSoft web site. The only technical problem that player should "understands" all versions of slide show.

Neither posts will be edited more. I'll ask moderators about this. I'm sorry about this problem! Friends, I only would like to ask all to always duplicate postings on English language to prevent possible misunderstandings.

Dominique, I would want express my apologizes about this problem! Probably your web hoster did daily backups of your entire site/forum? This forum also was hacked two days ago. There are stupid persons which only destroy work of others and these "hackers" are not possible for nothing more. Poor limited people.
-
Some bad person hacked forum. I again apologize for this problem! Invision just installed latest forum security updates. Color scheme is old good one again.
-
Thank you, friends!
-
We apologize for this problem! We didn't change anything in the settings. It seems to be strange bug in the forum and I asked Invision to solve this problem ASAP and find reason why it happened. Also we plan to update Invision forum's engine to latest version.

The problem was in email address specified in the order. My letter with the key sent to it also returned back. After this I wrote to Siliva and I sent the key to a second email address.

As soon PicturesToExe Deluxe will create slide shows in EXE files, in AVI (WMV after convertation) and create MPEG2 video files and record DVD-Video it will be ideal solution. Personally I will record my slideshows as DVD-Video discs and include autorun.inf file and EXE version of my slide shows. So this disc will work on any device. What concerning temporal problems with playing of Pan/Zoomed slide shows as EXE files. It's not directly our problem. I should say again we did all that was possible. Now we wait when all PCs will be upgraded for Windows Vista where new video card is required. Problems with some drivers will be solved, too. And I don't know other programs that can work better at this moment. If it is so, it confirms that this task exceptionally difficult.

It's a strange. I again should say that we don't set any Internet connection nor in PicturesToExe nor in slide shows. I hate such behavior of some programs and I will never do it in my programs. As message says slide show didn't try to set connection with some web site. p2e_prev.exe is EXE file for fullscreen Preview when you work in PicturesToExe v4.48 For any your project PTE creates EXE file with this name in temp folder of Windows. Probably because of this your firewall mistakenly reacts on changing of this file?

Fred, Screen saver mode is not releazed in v5.00 beta yet. Steve, Audio Format Your suggestion is right, I'll add option - 48 KHz or 44 KHz In PicturesToExe Deluxe we'll always use 48 KHz. But because CD audio and MP3s in 44 KHz resampling still is necessary. We use good algorithm for resampling. Added Numbers to AVI Filenames I did so because some DVD authoring products (for example, Ulead DVD Movie Factory 2) caches converted MPEG2 file and even doesn't look that we want to convert modified AVI file with same filename. Interlaced vs. Progressive PicturesToExe renders video in Progressive or Interlaced formats. - If your slide show doesn't have any animation, only static slides and Fade effects - set Progressive format. - If you have fast Pan effects, Circle, Curling of page - set Interlaced format for more smooth animation. Background Music for Show Dialog Box OK, I'll check up this moment on Monday. Thanks!

We agree with opinion of Lin. I plan to add special templates (in v5.1) to easily collect keypoints states and apply for other objects. It's necessary. But we don't plan to add button to create Auto Pan or Auto Zoom for one or all slides. I'm not professional in this question of digital photo, but I feel that Pan/Zoom should be thought-out individually for every image.

It available in v4.48 not officially: Open .pte project file find opt_runapponexitiflastslide parameter and set it 0 instead of 1 Now "Run application after last slide" will work as you expect.
-
Yes, it's in our TODO list for v5.10 By the way, today I've compared quality of resized images in v4.48 and in v5.00 with hardware acceleration. In v5.00 images (2272x1704 reduced to screen 1024x768) look more sharp and no need to additionally apply unsharp mask in Photoshop.

I uploaded updated beta 6 with fixed bug when you was not able to set custom aspect ration in Screen tab of Project options. Thanks.
-
Dominique, Sorry it's my mistake with editing aspect ratio. I'll upload updated beta 6 today.
-
Dominique, I don't know, sorry New bar of drives in the top part of the main window. It correctly supports High DPI mode now (120 dpi). This preview window on 70% larger than before. It's impossible, really I didn't change anything Partially, as options allow Just please write me your suggestions and thoughts after v5.00
-
I'm sorry for the late response. Fred, It's a good idea about checkbox in Customize slide window. So I'll add the next checkbox below "Display slide for...": - "Spread keypoints". And maybe additionally "Spread effect duration", if it will be possible logically. I hope to realize it in the nearest betas.

Yes, new beta 6 released

PicturesToExe v5.00 beta #6 http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/apr_beta.zip (1.6 MB) I think the important moment of this beta that PicturesToExe produces now ideally smooth Pan effect without possible slight fluctuations on good video cards sometimes. Exact synchronization of music and slides again still not implemented. We'll back to this moment soon in nearest betas. What's new in beta 6: + Vastly improved smoothness of Pan effect on powerful video cards. + New drive bar (in main window). + Added "HD-720 progressive, 50/60 frames" mode in "Video" window. + Improvements in Customize synchronization window: + Enlarged size of preview area in "Customize synchronization" window. + Status bar displays duration of a slide show now, not duration of music. + Timeline in Visual editor shows keypoints that located outside time of a slide. + Improvements for High DPI mode (120 dpi) in Windows Vista. * Fixed visual bug in Push/Slide effects. * Improved visual quality of Curling of page effect. * Fixed bug when slide show didn't start if "Use music" option unchecked. * Fixed bug when with "Auto" mode times between slides were incorrect. * Fixed bug of previous beta with "Import transition points..." function in "Customize synchronization" window. * Fixed bug with incorrect time in dates of files in created ZIP backup. * Fixed several other very minor bugs. p.s. we're finishing works on second CPU based software engine which works as v4.48 on old PCs and old video cards. Probably it will be inserted already to the next beta 7.
-
I just improved timeline in Objects and animation window and this timeline will show keypoints now that located outside time of a slide. No "lost" or invisible keypoints anymore. I'm sorry that I didn't it earlier. We're integrating fully re-written CPU based graphical engine to v5.00 I tested today speed and quality of effects - they work with same speed as in v4.48 or even a little faster. So v5.00 should fully replace previous v4.48 with same features, quality and reliability. Although you can use this CPU based graphical engine even on very old PCs and simple animation effects (appearing of text for example) will work fine, but complex effects and Pan/Zoom of large several images works exceptionally slow - about several frames per second only. So you see that video card is only one way to provide excellent Pan/Zoom effects in real time.
-
I suppose your video card or maybe current drivers or settings don't support full hardware 3D acceleration. Please wait for the final v5.00 when PTE will support all configurations of PCs and use v4.48

Need clarification on v 5, objects and video requirements
Igor replied to mhwarner's topic in General Discussion
I don't exclude possible bugs in our new graphical engine that uses hardware acceleration. But it seems that some rare cases of freezes happen most likely because of drivers problem. In this case it's necessary to update drivers and install latest DirectX. I wrote earlier that final v5.00 we will suggest: - an option to enable 3D hardware acceleration (for ideally smooth Pan/Zoom effect) - or don't use it (perfect for other kinds of slide shows) - for 100% reliable work anywhere. Like in previous v4.48 Even if you turned on hardware acceleration, and video card of PC is old and doesn's support it, slide show will automatically use second graphical engine based on CPU calculations only. With Pan/Zoom effects, but slowely of course. We did yesterday first testing of Pan/Zoom effects under this CPU based graphical engine and it gives only 10 FPS. You see that video card much faster than CPU in this question! So Pan/Zoom works ideally only with power of your video card. Alternative variant - creation of DVD discs wth Pan/Zoom effects in our future PicturesToExe Deluxe. You can learn and use Visual editor. Even without Pan/Zoom effects it is useful to place text images, subtitles, logos, etc. Visual editor will work anywhere without any problem. Visual editor will automatically detect your video card and work with hardware acceleration or with CPU calculations only (more slowely). I suppose we reached maximal reliability possible on modern drivers and hardware in Windows XP. Microsoft told that they have totally re-worked graphical drivers model in Windows Vista. Because interface of Windows Vista based on DirectX and hardware 3D acceleration and they need 100% reliability anywhere. After several years when almost all PCs will be installed with future Windows Vista you may forget about this choice and always use mode with hardware acceleration.
