Hi Dave, If you use "Run Slideshow" command you need to select a show in .pteav format. Create shows in this format in the Publish menu > Show for Mac. To choose a file with a show, click on a small triangle button below "Run Slideshow" box. If you choose "Run Application or Open File", you can choose any file. But we don't recommend this variant for Mac. Use the first option described above.

PTE AV Studio 10.5.5 is available for PC and Mac Download: https://www.wnsoft.com/pte-av-studio/download/ Or use Auto Update feature: Main menu > Help > Check for Free Updates. Fixed problem import/export of slide styles which contain a comma in a style name. Fixed problem with high memory usage in the editor of a custom transition when a slide buffer is used multiple times. Fixed problem with the “Go to slide…” command when using a slide name set by default (a main image name). Fixed problem with freezing during video encoding when embedded video clip has a very short duration (about 1 ms).

Yes, I agree with your thoughts. Initially we decided that majority of users who will use slide styles are beginners or not experienced users. And they hardly will use the Objects and animation editor with multiple objects. So they simply drag new images to the Slide list and then apply a slide style. In this case our idea could work fine. Also some better ideas come later when something already done.

MacOS Monterey (12.0.1) and Android Apps Windows 11
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Equipment & Software
Tom, Thanks for testing! We also updated our M1 and Intel Macs to macOS 12 Monterey. Can you try a new build of PTE AV Studio 10.5.5 Beta Build 5 which I compiled on Monterey OS first time: PTE AV Studio: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Studio.dmg PTE AV Player: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Player.dmg (Run manually the Player first time after installation)- 3 replies

Right now it exports a slide (picture) at the end of a transition - exactly what you see in the Slide list. I guess that some members might expect another result, a possibility to export a slide at any time point including a transition effect.

Mask Edge Antialiasing not covering slide [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Tom, I think that this issue is caused by edge antialiasing and float point calculations for position/size between two objects which are placed exactly side by side. Move Mask (Rectangle) object slightly to the left. Now it's -200 , set -200.5 at the 1st keyframe. -
Mask Edge Antialiasing not covering slide [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Tom, thanks, give me some time to explore this project. -
How you think where this command should be placed - in the Publish button menu? Or in the Slide menu, or in the main menu > Publish?

Hi Peter, I never seen such error message. Can you attach a screenshot? And let me know a version of PTE on the old Mac with Windows 7. Probably the project file was damaged or some issue with file rights after copying. We recommend to use Create backup in a ZIP command (from the main menu > File menu) to transfer a project to another computer. P.S. I'll move this topic to the Troubleshooting section.

Quick slide style - two commands, copy and apply. There is a good sense in your thoughts about slide styles. But it's another conception with own strong and weak sides. We cannot change it now for compatibility reasons.

Hi, In future versions (12.0) we plan to add multiple tracks with objects/slides. It means that you can apply styles to slides on one track and keep text comments on another track. It will be more universal and simple solution than adding special exceptions/rules for slide styles.

What other members think about this suggestion?

Mask Edge Antialiasing not covering slide [SOLVED]
Igor replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Hi Tom, Do you see this issue in a real show? Full screen preview, EXE show, or MP4 video. Send me a simple test project. -
Hi, There are two solutions: A. Move all project files into the same folder (no sub-folders). And open this project. B. Or open your project and recover paths to missing files in the Missing Files window. Once you recover first file from a sub-folder, PTE AV Studio automatically finds all other files from the same folder - you'll see green marks in the list of discovered files. Repeat this step for other missing files from other sub-folders and click the OK button. Then save the project. P.S. I'll move your post to the Troubleshooting section as a new topic.

Hi, We implemented a special kind of slide styles - Quick Slide Style in future version 11.0. There are 2 commands in the main window - create and apply a quick slide style. Just in one click with no options. Unlike existing slide styles, when you apply a quick slide style, PTE AV Studio keeps untouched a duration of destination slide, its transition and duration of a transition. Only all objects on a slide will be replaced, keeping original main image. It's possible to apply a quick style to multiple slides. Their order will not be changed. Synchronization of slides will not be touched. I hope that this feature would be useful for AV enthusiasts.

Gary, Usually any video clips. Except of videos created in PTE AV Studio from still images with slow panning/zooming and dissolves. -
Share Screen in zoom. Improved smoothness and sound
Igor replied to Igor's topic in Equipment & Software
Hi Jill, Thanks for your commentary and experience! Yes, your task is more complex with different shows and menu and proposed suggestion probably doesn't fit. -
Hi, You can try a new Beta of PTE AV Studio 10.5.5: Download: For Windows: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/pteavstudio-setup.exe For Mac: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Studio.dmg PTE AV Player for Mac: https://files.wnsoft.com/test/PTE-AV-Player.dmg What's New: Fixed problem import/export of slide styles which contain a comma in a style name. Added compatibility with a notch at the top of the display in the new Macbook Pro 14” and 16” when you play a show at full screen. Or when you work in full screen in PTE AV Studio. P.S. If you purchase a new Macbook Pro 14" or 16" with M1 Pro / Max chip, please try this new version and let us know how it looks with a notch on the screen.

Gary, Honestly, we didn't plan a batch converter at all. It was designed to convert a single video file. Multiple video file cause many questions and problems. Different resolutions and aspect ratio, Trim feature may work incorrectly. In fact, it's not ready for version 10.5. Probably it can be improved in future version.

Hi, I found 2 recent options in Zoom app which greatly improve visual quality and sound in Screen Sharing when you demonstrate PTE AV Studio shows or other videos. 1. You can enable Stereo (High-fidelity) option for Screen Share. See the attached screenshot below. I tried this option yesterday and it greatly improves sound quality and increases audible range for other participants. I think it's very important for AV users. 2. Zoom now includes a built-in video player for MP4 or MOV video files (H.264 format). It's located in the Advanced tab of Share Screen window. See the screenshot below. I noticed that smoothness of video clip was much better and I could observe less artefacts on a picture. More info You can also enable "Optimize for video clip" option. It improves smoothness (frame rate) for dynamic scenes in a video. The only side effect of this option, it reduces resolution of video - 1280 x 720. This option also works with external video players, but earlier participants could observe black rectangles on the screen due to notification windows when a video is captured from the screen. With a built-in zoom video player this option now works flawless. So I recommend to set "Optimize for video clip" for a video with dynamic scenes. You'll get 1280 x 720 at 30p. And untick this option if you demonstrate an AV with still images and slow dissolving transitions, you'll get 1920 x 1080 at 30p. Using a built-in zoom video player will require to create your AV show as a MP4 video. I recommend 1920 x 1080, High quality, 30p for zoom. Because zoom can't effectivelyplay 60p videos. Consider use of Motion Blur option in MP4 video output for 30p video to improve smoothness even for 30p videos. P.S. Make sure that you updated Zoom app to the latest version, at least version 5.5.

Hi Gary, I'll reply tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

Tom, you're right. With H.264 format we use the most optimal settings, especially in PTE AV Studio 10.0+ H.264 is very flexible codec and has many hidden options to reach smaller file size with the same quality. Encoding to HEVC format works in 3 times slower, video playback on relatively old graphics card utilizes 70..100% of CPU that causes a high power consumption and noise from the cooling fan.

Hi Mike, PTE AV Studio 10 and 10.5 create only 64-bit executable shows for Windows 7/8/10/11. Windows XP (it's 32-bit OS) is not supported anymore. Consider two solutions for an old computer: A. Create a MP4 video file with HD or 4K quality. (Recommended) B. Or install an old version 9.0.22: https://files.wnsoft.com/picturestoexe/previous-versions/picturestoexe-setup-9022.exe Activate it with your existing license key (10.x). When you install this version, untick an option "Associate with .pte project files" to keep project files associated with the latest version 10.5. Open your project in v9.0.22 and build an EXE file for an old PC with Windows XP.
