  1. No, I had to go with whatever was available. For some reason (it's a long time ago) the XP machine didn't look at the CD Drive but it looked at the USB drive. I just wanted to prove that if I had a catastrophic failure the system would work. .....and Barry kept pestering me to prove that it worked. If you have a working drive and just want to restore you don't need the Boot Disc - you just open the software and Restore. The Boot Disc is for catastrophic failure. I have always tried to keep ALL temporary files etc well away from the C drive. If there is an option to save Temporary or Cache files on a different drive I always take that option. It keeps the C drive as clean as possible between Images. The one thing that has eluded me so far is my Outlook Files.
  2. Lin, Think of it this way. I have a 1TB HDD solely for Images which are named by date. I keep adding Images at regular intervals until the 1TB is full. At that stage I delete the oldest image(s) before adding the newest. If I have a virus/malware problem I would go back until I find a virus/malware free Image. When I first started using Macrium I was able to create a Boot Disc for the Laptop but my XP machine refused to boot from the one I made for it. After two e-mails to Macrium he/they suggested that I use a USB Memory Key for the XP machine. Problem solved. DG
  3. Peter, I can see some sense in what you are suggesting. The folders and .pte projects that I am trying to switch between have all been worked on recently and have not been moved. Is it possible, as I suggested to Igor, to take the File Tree out of the equation? Close it? I am opening a project and, without saving it, I am going to File / Open to open a different Project. But the File List does not change. DG
  4. Gary, I think that you echo the opinion of most people here? Which software you use is down to Personal Choice and where you live? I use a UK based company. Buy British!! DG
  5. Igor, Open PTE. Turn the File Tree Off? Open a Project via File / Open (Project A ) Do the File List Images change to the correct new images for Project A Folder? Open a Project via File / Open (Project B ) Do the File List Images change to the correct new images for Project B Folder? DG
  6. Why is it that a simple post about a recommended software to do a job always turns into a 5 page diatribe based on personal preferences? DG
  7. Igor, With "Open last Project" in Preferences ticked. 1. Start PTE and it opens with the last Project. (Project A) 2. Go to File / Open and Browse to a different Project. (Project B ) 3. Project B opens but the File List shows Project A Files. Should each new Project loaded via File / Open show the related Image Files? My Project .pte and my Project Images, Audio Files etc are all saved in the same folder. I would like to see the File List show the contents of the Folder containing the .pte file when it is opened. I cannot speak for Gary. DG P.S. Have you noticed that if you put "Project B" in Brackets it comes out as (Project
  8. Hi Jeff, Sorry for the delay. The missing masks are in this ZIP: Masks.zip DG
  9. Options: You can create a gap between each tile by taking a pixel off each side in "Size/Position in Pixels of Parent". DG
  10. Mary, Please try this: Here are the Templates to make the Video Mask - 50 second original and 5 second short: SquaresMasks Templates.zip Here is the Style complete with the Video Mask: Jigsaw 03.zip DG P.S. You said "16:10 AR (I don't like cropping my pictures)" - did you mean that you like you show to fill your 16:10 monitor. Or did you mean that you have a camera which takes 16:10 images?
  11. Yes We need a different "packaging" strategy when Styles are applied. DG
  12. Thank you Denis, Vilara, I understand. The mask is referenced in the "Backup In Zip" rather than be "real". I assumed that it became "real" once the Style was applied. I don't remember the conversation you mentioned. Interesting. DG
  13. Vilara, Denis, I later realised that you might be refering to Styles which contain certain Custom Transitions. If that is the case then I concede that it could be a problem. I have not tried it but that is possible. Any video mask etc applied in a pure Style will be collected and saved to the BIZ. DG
  14. Maureen, You just get better every time. Nice use of "Third Image". DG
  15. Tom, Try setting a 5 sec Transition Time and 10 sec slide duration before you apply the CT. I just D/L'd it to be sure and it works fine with a 2 sec or a 5 sec transition. Are your two transition times greater than your Slide Duration? - that causes a problem (obviously). DG
  16. They will have been collected and saved in the BIZ? DG
  17. How many pieces? What AR? DG
  18. If the styles have already been applied then they are not needed? DG
  19. Can someone give a definitive answer? Is what Gary and I are seeing correct or not? I am seeing the same thing on both Laptop and Desktop machines - Vista and W7. 8.0.3 and 8.0.4. Am I supposed to be seeing something different - does anyone else see anything different? DG
  20. I think that I am getting the same as Gary? If the Project that I open is the last saved then the File List association is kept. However, if I open a previously save Project then the File List is stuck on the Last Saved Project's File List. DG
  21. ........or as a Custom Transition: JigsawTT01.zip
  22. Jigsaw Demo: HERE DG
  23. Two Jigsaw Puzzle Styles which can be used as transitions. Add two 16:9 (1920x1080) images to the Slide List twice (1;1;2;2) with zero Transition Times. Apply the style to slides 2 and 3. Jigsaw 01.ptestyle Jigsaw 02.ptestyle Lovingly developed and created using TTT.
  24. http://www.wnsoft.com/ Just download from the link and then follow Barry's guide. DG
  25. Have you checked your Junk Mail (just in case)? If the original e-mail went there, chances are the "ticket" reply did too. DG
