Did you try the Uninstall / Re-Install? DG
-
Do a complete uninstall/reinstall first to see if that cures it. Then upgrade to 7.5 - installs in a different folder to 6.5 so you will have both - you can then come up to date slowly. When you are ready you can upgrade to v8. DG

Add Mask/Size in Pixel: Why '512x512' is the max?
davegee replied to goddi's topic in General Discussion
Hi Peter, Thanks for pointing that out. It caused me to go back and see if I had missed something, which I did! I was also making the point that it does no harm to have some pre-defined masks ready to be used in conjunction with pte's. DG P.S. It must be an age thing - I rotated Masks in the Morphing Style that I posted......... I remember now that you cannot distort a Diamond Mask made in PTE across the corners?? If it is made as a Diamond in an image editor then it can be distorted across corners.............. -

Exact resolution AR is possible via "Size/Position......" DG -

You can re-size/distort after creating it. It's a good idea to make some masks in an image editor. One that I find useful is a diamond shape with and without feathering. DG -
There's more?? Great show (again). DG

"I tried 'Run as administrator' and that just gave the same result showing an error box full of missing files" Glad it is now working. DG

My reading is that it is opening the LAST SAVED FILE each time. Connect to Internet.(Are you networking your file storage?) Open PTE - Click OK - do File/New. Save it. Close and re-Start PTE. Unticking "Load last project..." in Preferences / Project might be a better option for you. DG

Updated the Article on "Third Image" with additional images and video. http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/techniques/thirdimage DG

In addition to the above advice - are you doing a complete UNINSTALL before re-installing? The screen you describe is the usual one when you have moved files and the software cannot find them. Just OK it and the project should open. You can then click on File / New Project. DG

How to zoom-in and keep '86% of slide to show main image' fram
davegee replied to goddi's topic in General Discussion
I think that Gary probably wants precise mask dimensions here so inputing via the keyboard in "Size Position....." e.g. 1920x100 (x.86 ) would be the best way forward? DG -
Do a complete uninstall / reinstall on the computer giving the problem. Make sure that you have your serial numbers ready. DG

How to zoom-in and keep '86% of slide to show main image' fram

From Post#3: Dave, I am using '86%' just as a technique to have a black border all the way around the images and to show a border on each image. DG -

davegee replied to goddi's topic in General Discussion
Tim, This is not about DVDs - this is about creating a border. In the DVD application that you are thinking about the percentage can vary and is not a fixed figure for everyone - two TVs can require different percentages. MP4 files on TV via USB don't need a percentage crop at all. Here's the method I use - it doesn't suit everyone: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/16089-making-a-dvd/ DG -

If you are going to try the mask option you can "morph" from Landscape to Portrait. It is much easier on the eyes. DG -

Only to standardise your image sizes, don't use portrait format and use a matte. DG -

davegee replied to goddi's topic in General Discussion
Gary, It would help if you told us why told us why you are using 86% of main image? Two things come to mind: A 1920x1080 "matte" with the 86% cut out of the middle and saved as a png. Place this on top of every slide. Put the border/stroke line on the inside of the matte. If you are doing this to produce an mp4 or DVD for your tv then you can add blank black image to each slide and make it the main image. All other objects are children of this and at the end use the 86%. Everything is then reduce by the correct amount. DG -
No one is going to complain about that!! Well done Igor and team. DG

Hi Peter, Read Ken's post again? DG It is now fixed Ken.

Forgive me Jose, my suggestion was more hypothesis than known facts. My idea of a large Template would be less than one gb and I have never tried anything on the scale that you are trying. I am glad that Templates work for you - they have always worked for me. DG

(SOLVED) Cannot create video with version PTE 8.0.3
davegee replied to jeanclodo's topic in Troubleshooting
Jenclodo, Post it as a Template or Backup in Zip. Someone else can try to make the MP4 to prove if it is your system?? I have no problems making MP4 at Prests. DG -
Jose, I have always assumed that the Template is written (immediately) to the Clipboard and then written to the Target Folder in my Templates Folder. I have never had a problem - even with large Templates. The test would be to hit the "Create Template" (Ctrl+T) and then immediately close the programme. If you lose any information you would know that caution is required in this process. Presumably you will will have saved the Project before hitting Ctrl+T. DG
