One morning in March, a very ordinary morning, something quite unexpected happened, and all the people were very happy. This is not art, just a few snapshots taken in half an hour from one delightful morning that you might find interesting. Canon 7D, 50mm and 24-105mm. Show is 6.5 min 94 pictures, 36 MB. Thanks to Bill at Beechbrook.com for hosting. http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/downloadfile.asp?id=2342

You captured not only spectacular beauty, but a sense or feel of the place. I am so fascinated by the islands, I had to research them and now I want to go there! Do you have to be able to speak Spanish? My Spanish is about 2-3 year old level

Thank You Maureen. Your work is breathtaking and inspiring.

Thank you both very much. Igor: I had missed the "Safe executable file for Internet" option. Thanks for reminding me. By the way, I LOVE Pictures2Exe! Thanks for an amazing, quality product. I still think that one day soon it will get "discovered" and take the world by storm. Tom: I should probably disable SmartScreen, but like airport security, we sometimes endure the hassle of the dubious protection someone else decides for us. jk

Seems like this has been discussed, but is there a way to permanently prevent that nasty Windows 8 warning dialog box when opening P2E executables?

I am so pleased to be able to have Unicode support in OA text objects. But I sometimes cannot see, open, or use folders or files with Unicode (E.G. Chinese) characters. Actually this is inconsistent, for example, I cannot see Unicode characters in a folder name (just a "?") and cannot open such a folder, but I can see Unicode characters in a mp3 file. However, even though I can include such a file in a audio file list, PTE does not actually use the file. Is this supposed to work? Or just not yet? JK

It really helps that someone cares! Thanks. Strangely, the Power Supply seems to have survived the 240V plug-in. I tested it and it still works. But the little label on the power supply clearly says 110 and not 240. It is the recorder that did not survive. It's little LCD panel flashed a few times, gave random strange messages, all in a few astonishing seconds, and after a few final flashing electronic gasps--gave up the ghost altogether. Fresh batteries don't improve anything either. Searching on the internet, it does not seem practical to get it repaired through a dealer, although, I think I will try one of those nearby little booths where workers have soldering irons and scopes and other mysterious tools. What have I got to lose? JK

Decided to update my H2. A notice appeared stating that I needed to plug in AC power to complete the installation. So I did. But...the adapter was 110. My power was 220. My H2 is now fried. Sad day. JK

I agree. "The Grand Tour" was a really great show. I also really liked that old "Macarena" dance show. Long before animation it was animation. Circa 2001? Also the old HongKong airport airplane accidents slide show. It was nothing special, just really, really interesting. A lot of other slideshows are great too, but those flashed into my mind. I have a special computer folder of the "best of the best." There are a lot of shows in it.

Yikes, I had no idea I would stir up anything like this! So in simple English, what is the preferred method to post a show here that is on Beechbrook? I "thought" I was doing what I have seen others do. I rarely post my work because most is not intended for this audience. On whim I tossed the "Window Flowers" (chuanghua) show up--it was for some friends who asked for it and it was supposed to be as many pics as possible that would fit 2 particular songs. So I whipped it together. I thought it curious enough to share here--though it is not an AV work by any means. Yeah its big--90+ MB. 130 some pictures. They are sized for a friends monitor 1080 high and 15:10 aspect and saved at LR jpg level 70. The two songs are about 4 MB each. Be glad I didn't make you look at all 299 pictures that I took. You would have been really frosted. A friend decided what pics to include---I just followed orders. I'll try to be be good from now on.

Thanks much for your comments. You are right all the way around. A lot more could be done with it and it should be 3 minutes. jk

Some frosty pictures for you: 10 min, 15:10 aspect, and some Chinese music. Photos taken from the bedroom window in January and February. Hosting thanks to Beechbrook. Download it here. Edits: This is kinda overly long with over 130 pics. It's not a tuned AV experience, its just some weird pics that a few folks might find interesting. You can use keyboard control. It's over 90MB The ESC key works too

So make it a user option to set the default the way they want it.

Wow, beautiful! Barry, do you sell prints? I'd love to run a little booth on an Australian beach, with music like that playing on good Bose speakers, and sell your prints. (Agree with Bert, the white strips on the edges of my 1920 x 1080 screen just weren't right. But everything else was.) Simplicity accents the beautiful photos. And there was no need for keyboard control, in fact, I forgot to want it because your show was so good. JK

It's time for a fresh plug at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/ as well.

Non latin Symbols in picture FileNames (PTE 5.04 trial)
JudyKay replied to FE.'s topic in General Discussion
I still think unicode support for file names and within object text fields would be nice. Especially so I can write 感谢您! -
Really nice photos and music and presentation. Overall purely enjoyable. JK

Interesting photo presentation. Many truly awesome photos. Although, some photos seemed like beginners Photoshop-play gone overboard to me. The music...hmmm. Really didn't seem to connect with anything to do with the photos or slideshow. I love your photography, Barry, and your skill with AV. This one, however, was far from your best. But that is just an opinion. Still I like the photo piles and even the speed worked for me. I longed for a way to control the slide show, but alas...owell. Try again! For your niche, you have great talent! JK

On the main page in Slide View, add a tiny animated mini-preview of the existing transition. Enable the ability to Right-Click on the tiny transition preview to quickly select the desired transition from a fly-out list. Presently, slide transitions are attached directly to a specific slide. Developing a slide show would be more intuitive if we thought of the transitions as an effect apart from the slide and between the slides. If anyone agrees, can you word this to make it more clear? Thanks JK

I too agree with all five.
