  1. Gary, In the attachment file I just used Media Player Classic - Home Cinema which many users have to view the information. As you compare the two files ... the orig file has a very limited information table as compared to the converted file . You will also notice the orig file VBR information table has no direct reference to the time duration where the converted file CBR does. I too have used All Sound Recorder Vista. I have attached my settings used. I also prefer 192kbps over 128kbps.
  2. abebes, To create a standalone AVI file ... select Create a Custom AVI video file as displayed in the attachment. In this custom senerio select the Video Codec button, then you must select your own compatible Audio & Video Codecs to complete the video file process. You cannot select the PictureToExe Video Codec within the list for this process. I use a MPEG4 codec such as Xvid or Dvix for the video codec. * The other video options use the PictureToExe Video Codec which requires third party tools/converters to complete the video file process. * The PictureToExe Video Codec is not a true encoder/decoder codec file. It is just an instruction sheet for third party tools/encoders to use in its final compilation.
  3. Gary, The duration inconsistencies are most likely attributed to File 21 being encoded in VBR and the File 24 being encoded in CBR. VBR files often need scanning and partially decoding of the entire file to obtain accurate estimates of the bitrate to best approximate the duration because the metadata maybe tagged differently in the file. Audacity decoded the entire file for full editing and thus reflected the correct duration(s) for both files. Stick with encoding your files to CBR ... since this seems to be the best for all players and PTE to accurately reflect the proper duration.
  4. Aaron, My best guess is that you have included video files in your PTE project. Currently the projected output size calculation PTE displays does not include any video file sizes added to the total project. Igor will most likely address this total projected calculation in a future release.
  5. Gareth, Mixing different video encoding proceeses into single video format can get confusing and very complicated to achieve the best results. First of all: Are you trying to burn/produce an interlaced DVD or a progressive DVD ? * Mixing of intelaced/progessive video formats can produce the "choppy" effect you mention. * Its best to have all input video at the same framerate (fps) and video format (interlaced/progressive) to match your export video (DVD) process. Mixing the various processes can result in undesirable results if they are not compatible in the final output mix. * Input video/audio codecs used should be compatible to the output conversion process you select. Final word: Check the File Info of your input video files (right-click within PTE). Check for differences. * It may only be that your input AVI video format file needs to be interlaced or progressive to match your output DVD video format (interlaced or progressive). You can change/force the setting within PTE/Video Builder to see if playback results are better. Test the DVD for PC playback and TV/DVD playback ... as the results may be different on various playback devices. * Check the audio codec used for the input MP4 video file ... its possible it may not be compatible with your output DVD audio format selected. Change the Video Builder-Project Options setting and test DVD audio playback results for the input MP4. Otherwise, you may need to encode the MP4 using a different audio codec.
  6. Landscaper, This is an indicator/marker in Windows 7 that your files (and or folders) have restricted access. You need to read up and check your user account/security file permission settings to change how you want this file/folder behaviour to best suit your particular needs. Usually you can change a single file restriction setting by a right-click then Properties, then selecting Security tab for the settings ... as long as your User-Login/Group has the permission.
  7. Bert, The Help.chm file can fail to operate depending on how you have extracted the program files from the zip package ... as all of this is part of MS file security. Just right-click the Help.chm file and select Properties ... then just click where it says to Unblock the file. The Help file should then operate properly. (Or, just Unblock the zip package before file extraction.) * Being Project Reporter v2 was last released in Jan 2009 ... it will not be fully compatible to properly read all segments/functions of newer PTE project files.
  8. Barry, I would further your tests by using your wifes Dell 2709W monitor hooked up to your PC and vise-versa. It will atleast verify if the monitor itself is not the issue.
  9. Gary, You say you are not getting any errors with v6.5 ... and I would assume you are publishing/overwriting using the same Admistrator user account as v7.03 ? Have you tried to completely uninstall v7.03, shutdown and do a cold boot, login your normal Admistrator user account, and clean install v7.03 again ? *This may possibly resolve the issue with v7.03 and your Admistrator user account ... but it wll not resolve any other issues/corruption you may have with your with Admistrator user account.
  10. Gary, Do you still have any older versions of PTE program you can test with to Publish and verify if it too generates the error ? Firstly, I would reinstall v7.03 program to make sure all is up to par on its end ... then test again Publish. If all PTE program versions generate the same error ... then your issue may be related to your OS
  11. My tests with v7.03 and XP-SP3 does not exhibit this issue. If you use the EXIT action with other Objects ... does the same issue persist ? *Test with other OS if you have multiple PCs onhand.
  12. vilara, PTE currently does not offer any additional video-sound controls. This is most likely to be added/addressed in some future releases as the video component development evolves.
  13. Have you checked your View Options ? Its possible to change the double-click Slide view behavior.
  14. golfer, Your issue is most likely due to using an old 6.05 version of PTE program and trying to Load a new style issue Video Builder Key registration. Older PTE programs are not capable to Load new style registration keys. To install your new Video Builder Key ... you must download and install PTE v7.03 program and then Load your new Video Builder Key.
  15. gogs, As Ken says, Object Box is a "small dimension" utility. The program window has no resize adjustments so it is going to affect users with high resolution monitor settings. The program window is intentionally small because its made to work in combination ontop with PTE so as not to obscure its window and functions. If your querry pertains to the size of the image snaphot and its objects list within the Details Preview Pane ... use the Details Preview Control buttons on the lower right of the pane to open the image in Windows Picture and Fax Viewer (name varies per OS) for full review. Does this button open the image snapshot on your OS ? *Personally I find it hard to productively work in HD resolutions on smaller screens ... and will generally use 1600x900 or lower during the construction. HD resolutions may well be best suited for the visual aspect ... but in general not as accommodating for the actual construction/production aspect.
  16. newsposter, I dont know what Media Center offers in features and commandline options ... so I cannot comment. 1- PTE has limited commandline parameters that can sent to its slideshows. These commands can be used in the Run Application and Run Slideshow actions, and can also be run from a shortcut file, a BAT file, or applications that can send commandlines. "slideshow.exe" -cover "slideshow.exe" -display X "slideshow.exe" -slide X "slideshow.exe" -desktopalign *See PTE User Guide p78 for details. 2- PTE can send commandline parameters to other applications as long as they have their own commandline options available. Check the applications help file for any commandline parameters or switches it offers/receives. Use the Run Application action to send the commandline option to the application. * Note PTE does not send keyboard shortcuts or hot keys.
  17. Morasoft, After review of your project file ... change your current MENU button action to Run Slideshow action and enter the compiled EXE filename. This action will produce the play/resume effect after pause you are looking for. *The project is still only one EXE file. *The Run Slideshow action also accepts additional commands such as slideshow.exe -slide n if a MENU slide happens to be located on other than the first slide.
  18. Eric, Using the Run SlideShow with Return option should easily solve your problem ... however all your shows need to be compiled in v6.04 I have also attached a v6.04 single slide project zip that should also work for your needs using the basic Run Application option. Compile the project and just add your own show1.exe and a show2.exe . *When building with your own music ... make sure you use Syncronize Music and Slides and also set the Timed Points at End of Last Slide at End of Music in the Timeline. The attached file should at least get you started Project1 ss menu_Nov4-2011_20-40-24.zip
  19. Tony Falla, The different keys have also made Igor's job somewhat complicated. ... as he still maintains and honors the previous Lifetime Key purchasers of the product. Most software products these days have abandoned their Lifetime Key customers and now just pay as you go for each version upgrade. You should read the new changes if you have not done so already: Licensing and Upgrades - WnSoft Forums
  20. Tony Falla, Hopefully my responses to some of your questions wont add to your confusion. App for Mac is actually a Deluxe Upgrade feature. PTE will allow you to Publish to Excutable file for Mac if you dont have the Deluxe Upgrade Key. However, the app file is tagged/labeled as Created with Trial Version . PTE only uses it own version specific Video Builder component. If you open a Pte file in V7.0 PTE ... it will not produce a video using V6.5.8 Video Builder component. You have to open the Pte file in V6.5.8 to get its specific Video Builder component However, you can create a video in V7.0 in Trial mode with tags of Created with Trial Version . To use a expired but valid Deluxe Upgrade Key ... you must continue to use/keep the older PTE/Video Builder version to Publish with full Deluxe featues without Trial tags. The Deluxe Upgrade Key is always valid for any older versions as long as it has not past the expired date. What this means is if you just bought a Deluxe Upgrade Key today ... its always valid and good for all older versions . *PTE Deluxe features work in Trial mode with tags of Created with Trial Version even if you dont have a valid or expired key.
  21. Robert & Den Virus Protection Programs have so much influence and control of our PCs these days ... we are somewhat at their mercy. The best bet at this point is to contact the makers/vendors of the Virus Protection Programs and make them aware of your current issue(s). Hopefully they can address the issue thru a definition update or some other program setting on their part. Visit their users site board to see what others are experiencing. As for; Its hard to tell if its really and fully turned off and some of them just dont turn off. Its also possible when you did turn it off ... the icon display didnt return because its reading/using the icon cache. Sometimes a cold boot is required (while the protection is still turned off) to clear the cache.
  22. Robert, Can you clerify a few important details in your issue: 1- Is it that the PTE program wont accept/reject the custom icon you selected in the Project Options ? 2- Is it that Windows itself does not display the custom icon you selected ? 3- When you right-click the Properties of the EXE file in Windows, what icon is displayed ? 4- Does switching Windows to different folder views change the icon displays ? * Turn off any real time virus protective servies running and see if icons return to proper display. I think you may see where my questions are leading to the direction as to your possible issue.
  23. Seabird, Since you are building a totally manual slide show ... have you set the correct Project Option ? See attachment.
  24. Joy, tom95521 ... one of the moderators ( a California west coaster )
  25. Joy, You are correct ... you should be able to burn a DVD Movie format disc on the Windows/Fusion using PTE to play in any DVD player. Have you tested your DVD burner to see if its correctly burning any other DVD discs from your new Windows/Fusion (not using PTE but some other burn program)? By your previous comment it appears its burning in some other format. Can you read/explore the DVD in Windows and see any data files ? (Windows may need to be set to show hidden files) Do you have any DVD disc info tools that will tell you the format type of the disc ? (It should say DVD Video) * Tom is the expert when it comes to Mac/Windows pcs.
