  1. BeTa, Added Videos : When mixing/adding any video file ... its important to supply all internal details/properties of each video file. * Also, is the video file added in its original out-of-camera framerate or has the added video been custom converted and to what changes/settings? * Also, is the added video file interlaced or non-interlaced ? * All details of the externally added video file(s) is important to help determine video compatability for HD/MP4 output video. HD/MP4 Output Video: What are the output settings used in your HD/MP4 video file ? Its quite possible you may not need to create a HD/MP4 video file for the DVD/BR authoring tool. To test, use publish to Create AVI and select output settings according to your needs ... HD-1080 or HD-1280x720p 60fps. Pressing Create AVI button will prompt you open your DVD/BR authoring tool for direct processing by the tool. *Please note that all third-party tools may not be capable to directly import or process from this PTE feature. *See image attachment.
  2. BeTa, This is normal ... publishing/creating a HD Video for PC and Mac (MP4) is a VideoBuilder function and process. This is normal ... publishing/creating a AVI File is not a VideoBuilder function or process. The actual building of the video or the finish product playback ? The building process seen in the viewer of the MP4 compilation window is not displayed in realtime. What media player program are you using to actually play your HD Video Files (MP4) ... Windows Media Player, or Media Player Classic -Home Cinema, or VLC Player, or what ? I dont quite understand this comment. Can you explain with better details.
  3. Ronnie, I beleive Bill's/Beechbrook dropdown list links are broken ... this appears to have happened when he just updated the site to exclude users email links/listings. Try this link to the Beechbrook Utilities http://www.beechbrook.com/pte/index.asp?categoryid=2&view=View *I will contact Bill to advise him of the issue with links on his site
  4. Linda, Since you say it runs fine within PTE preview but takes the EXE 5mins to start/load ... Basic Questions : 1) Does the new PC have a new/different virus protection software or enhanced scan settings ? 2) How long does your PC/virus protection take to just scan the 2 GB EXE file from right-click ? 3) If you exempt the 2GB EXE from being checked by the virus protection software ... does it start/load in less time ? * I think you see my initial objective is to sort out and omit the virus protection software as the first step in finding any possible startup delays.
  5. Laszlo, Try v7.04 release ... as it contains fixes and also visually displays the Keep Full Slide Duration option in the program main window. v7.0 release had the option access only from the menu bar.
  6. Just a Note: Creating just the Menu show with v4.9 is not always going to totally resovle the flashing issue. You will most likely find that all the slide shows may need to be created in v4.9
  7. Laszlo, Appears to me you have v7 new feature Keep Full Slide Duration enabled. If you disable the checkbox ... PTE v7 will act to the way you worked originally in v6.5 See image attachment. Read about Keep Full Slide Duration in v7 User Guide on page 17. "Options Show and Keep full slide duration are set by default, but you can uncheck them. Option Show full slide duration shows the slide duration itself and the duration of transition effect for the next slide. Option Keep slide duration is helpful if the slides in your slideshow have different duration and while changing their places, their duration is not changeable."
  8. Doug, First, you must explain a few details about how you configured/incorporated your segment of the "spoken piece at the end of the show" If any part or segment of the EXE slide show has any manual advanced operation of slides ... the DVD version can not translate an unknown timing of a manual action into a realtime duration.
  9. Tom, You may want to check your itunes audio file to see if its encoded bit rate mode is variable (VBR) or constant (CBR) Most downloaded music/itunes usually come encoded in a VBR bit rate mode. Convert your itunes audio file to constant (CBR) if its not already and see if this resolves your time related differences.
  10. Bert, Making your "any aspect ratio image" EXE slideshow using the -cover command line parameter is not going to effectively apply the full screen edge-to-edge you desire. All of your images need to be of the same aspect ratio because the -cover parameter is not applied on an individual slide basis during EXE playback of mixed/multi aspect images. General details of the indexed topic Command Line Parameters for Slide Shows can be found in the v7 Users Guide on page 78. The User Guide describes only the BAT file execution of the parameters. Its also possible to execute the parameters from a slide show file shortcut by modifying the properties target file string or adding the parameters to a button object or slide show exit actions with Run Application or Run Slideshow .
  11. Gary, The % of the slide to show main images setting was originally intended to address overscan differences associated with analog signals. Normally the user needs to lower the % value to compensate for the difference as increasing the % value would only make it worse. You can effectively use PTE's -cover command line parameter to "bring the left and right edges to fill the 16:9 aspect ratio" without the need to "doing it to each image, one by one)". Your method of adding %18 for your own display can possibly vary the view on other users displays.
  12. Xaver, Thank you for the feedback. If you could please supply a download link to obtain some of these other maker EXE slide shows ... I will investigate to make them compatible for possible playback in PlayView. Right now the utility contains several limitations and conditions in how it scans for EXE files so as to not list just any and all available EXE files. Since the utility was originally intended for PTE users and PTE executables, Im sure I can adapt the utility to include other makes slide shows in a future release once I explore the required changes. Note to All Users : Any available download links to obtain some of these other maker EXE slide shows for compatibility testing would be greatly appreciated.
  13. Cedric Dawnhawk, This is always an unpredicable issue with launching some slide shows from a PTE menu using Run Application. Disabling Hardware Acceleration helps to minimize/resolve the desktop flashback but different OS/Video Drivers will exhibit different behaviour. Placing/keeping focus is another unpredicable issue even if you built all the slide shows. May I suggest you try PlayView as an alternative way to launch your EXE slide shows from a ready made list menu. It also automatically stops the desktop flashback and maintains focus of each selected slide show. Click the PlayView link in the bottom of my signature line where it says Utility Programs for PTE for the description and program download link. You may also want to contact Snapcam ... as his post relates to your issue. Clean Start
  14. Eric, Windows Media Player has limited switches and will not provide you the full control you may be looking for. Media Player Classic Home Cinema has a more extentsive list of switches and does provide the Title and Chapter position control you desire.
  15. BeTa, The easiest way to test and sort this video issue of yours is for you to upload a short 7-10 second video segment that is produced straight out-of-camera without any post processing or conversions. This way the PAL Country users such as Dave and others may be best able to offer some advise to resolve. I live in NTSC Country ... so my testing of the file will be limited when it comes to DVD/TV output. Upload the short test video segment to a storage site such as MediaFire or DropBox and post a link for the download access.
  16. BeTa A quick overview of your issue and your conversion has me wondering why you convert video from 30fps to 25 fps ? HD Video for PC and MAC requires no conversion or frame rate changes to play normal on a computer. NTSC and PAL are standard definition video for DVD playback. Its best to keep the original video framerate to avoid such issues you are experiencing. When producing a DVD with VideoBuilder the video framerate conversion is set to NTSC or PAL standard video defintions required for normal DVD playback. Why not use PTE's own VideoConverter Tool to convert the original camera output video file ? *Will your original 640x480 30 fps MJpeg video file play directly without issues when used in PTE for EXE executable ? * I personally do not see a need for you to convert your original video 30fps to 25 fps even for VideoBuilder-DVD/PAL compilation. Its seems to me you are taking many unnecessary conversion steps. *Im sure you will have alot more questions ... but lets start with these first.
  17. Eric, Im surprised that your commercial DVD has unknown title description. I can only guess that your Windows version of Media Player (mine is version 11) requires an additional switch to start the playback. Its most likely a new Microsoft thing for the media player and your version of windows. Use this string: wmplayer /play /device:DVD
  18. Eric, Your Image 1 shows incorrect filestring/commandline. It requires wmplayer to excute the commandline switch /device:DVD. The switch /device:DVD cannot execute solely on its own. Use string format exactly as spelling, characters, and spacing is critical : wmplayer /device:DVD wmplayer /fullscreen /device:DVD * To test ... just paste either one of the above strings into the Windows RUN command prompt. Make sure the DVD is already inserted into Drive. Or just paste the string into PTE as attachment shows.
  19. What media player are you using to play the DVD ? If you are using the Windows Media Player ... you need only to use these commandline/switches. The /device:DVD command will automatically launch the main DVD drive on any windows system. wmplayer /device:DVD wmplayer /fullscreen /device:DVD If you are using Media Player Classic Home Cinema ... just read its Help file for available commandline/switches to play the DVD.
  20. The Hold Time Points program setting/option in v 7 has been moved to the top Menu bar - View | Advanced Options.
  21. Adding to Dave's and Peter's comments above ... see the image attachment on how to set your .pte file association using the PTE program installer.
  22. PhotoFlora I dont know what audio codecs/settings you have tested with ... but since you seem to be transcoding to BluRay format you may need to use HD Audio codec/settings. See the attachment for basic HD Audio details/requirements.
  23. organmorgan, By your comment "it began on what was looking like a duff drive" ... I assume you mean your Hard Drive was showing signs of failure. I can only guess its possible your recovery "image on new drive of windows" may still have some early signs of the issue. If you have a much earlier drive recovery "image" ... try testing with it. I would first begin by reinstalling the major system drivers : -Direct X 9 Driver -Video Driver -If you are using special/specific Mouse Drivers ... reinstall them.
  24. I usually open the image attachments using the right-click menu | Open Link in New Window. It auto sizes in the new window and you also have full control to zoom from the browser feature. When you are finished ... just close the window.
  25. Tonton Bruno, I would think that the current Customize Windows feature should handle most of your SUB needs. From the main menu ... Project | Customize Windows. You can edit the Help Window or create multiple new Windows to customize. From the User Guide see page 58 for additional details and various options.
