  1. Dave, My intention was to notifty of the v7.5 Copy Slide improvment over previous versions .. . and not repeat the full details of using HAWK Method of Copy Slide method. * I see it as the Hawk Method can either be 2 instances of PTE open or 2 PTE project files loaded within a single instance open. * For me ... saving complete Copy Slide data is the real nice improvement.
  2. v7.5 now has the ability to Copy Slide (via clipboard data). This enables lots of flexability in copying slides or even saving complete slide data as a external file. * This new improvement omits the need to have 2 instances of PTE open to Copy Slides (HAWK Method) from one v.75 project to another v7.5 project. Of course this improvement only relates to v7.5 and forward versions. Older versions will still need to use the HAWK Method. *Please remember PTE project files are forward compatible .... not backward. This also relates to its Slide and Object data.
  3. Gary, The filename with extention can already be seen in your Status Bar. Make sure you have the Filename setting enabled in Preferences. Is it too much trouble to click ?
  4. My v7.5 final tests on this subject is that there is definitely a behavior difference of showing the previous slide when NO Transitions setting is applied. It appears this issue was introduced with v7.5 beta 13. Previous beta builds (11,12) seem to behave correctly ... whereas later beta and release versions behave differently.
  5. Dom, I would agree only if its kept very basic (simple auto option) and only for distributable EXE (compiled/embedded image resources only ... nothing saved external). As you say ... its purpose is directed towards to reducing for sharing needs. The problem is users are always going to want more control and functions in its use. However,"cjdnzl" comment says it best for me.
  6. Barry, Unless Im missing your point ... I use the Time box arrows on the toolbar in the timeline view to nudge the position (slides and music) or precisely enter a lower/higher MS nudge value in the box. I guess additional KEY control may be helpful ... but how much of a nudge are we expecting in these moments. My only concern about additional KEY control is how many does there have to be before it gets more confusing to use the program. How many do we already have now ... Ive lost count and their specified use ? See attachment:
  7. Joy, Have you actually tested to make a ISO or other Deluxe features in your v 7.05? Do you get trial version notices in the produced files ?
  8. If you have uninstalled and/or lost your previous PTE version installation package ... you can download older version installations from WnSoft site. Previous Versions of PicturesToExe Deluxe and Old User Guides http://www.wnsoft.com/archives/ UpGrade for current users http://www.wnsoft.com/picturestoexe/buy/
  9. Eric, Yes ... tick (enable) the Main Object of Slide of the gag image if you want that to be the name of your Slide. Dont worry about un-ticking any of the other images ... its automatically un-ticked when you apply it to the gag image. (Thats because you can only select one main object per a slide.)
  10. Eric, To have the Featured Image displayed as the Slide title ... just enable the image object in O&A properties tab Main Object of Slide. There can only be one main object. (this has worked for me in the past) As for multiple names ... you will just have to edit the Slide name to your liking.
  11. Eric, If you are trying to play a 4:3 ratio video in a 16:9 frameset you will end up with a picture in a black box * What is the aspect ratio of the ripped video from DVD ? * Does a EXE build version display show correctly ?
  12. Chris, You wont be able to achieve this one slide changing on one screen and another on the second screen ... because the PTE slideshow is running in a single instance. To achieve something to simulate your effect you need to run two different instances (not duplicate) of PTE ... thus providing multiple(2) graphic engines to independently suppply each screen. * Dealing with pictures is one problem ... dealing with music is another (unless only one of the shows has music) * Essentially you need to run two(2) slideshows compiled somewhat alike ... but different.
  13. Gary, Your first post image appears to show the VideoConverter and its error message. When you say "I Moved This Border" ... you are of course talking about the VideoConverter program window panel and not PTE program window ? If so ... its not PTE program having this error ... its the VideoConverter.exe having the error which is another program. * Open VideoConverter.exe all by itself (without PTE open) ... and test again for same error.
  14. Eric, You need something like this video capture card with HDMI input ... about $100 AVerMedia AVerTV HD DVR MTVHDDVRR PCI-Express x1 Interface The AVerMedia MTVHDDVRR is a high definition / analog video capture card. Featuring the HDMI port, it can work with HDMI-enabled equipments and capture HD video up to 1080i, and with the 10-in-1 dongle cable, it delivers broad compatibility with analog video devices equipped with composite, s-video or component interface. You can also connect it to cable/satellite set-top-box, gaming console and HD video recorders to capture your favorite video content on PC. newegg link: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815100049&Tpk=MTVHDDVRR If this is a one-time thing ... its not worth it of course.
  15. Peter, Here is the link of the discussion ... during v7 Beta 6 development. Posts 154, 155
  16. Peter, I recall having the same issue and reported it during some v7.0 development. I cant remember at the moment ... it was a very brief discussion. I will try to find Igor's reply as to why this happens.
  17. Eric, I did test the new 7.5 beta on XP with Run Application. Using a v7.5 menu and launching v7.5 slideshows (even Igor's Mole slideshow) did not exhibit any desktop/taskbar flashback. However ... when launching some older version slide shows the desktop/taskbar flashback still was evident. So the new v7.5 graphic engine looks promising for launching future new slideshows ... without using Run Slideshow. * Further tests are needed and especially for Win7. * Tested with nVidia Graphics
  18. Just some information on Intels new processor Graphic playback with PTE. I recently installed a new Intel processor i5-3570K (Gen3) which has the upgraded HD Graphics 4000 processor graphic capabilities. The new generation HD 4000 graphics works wonderfully well with PTE slideshows ... where older onboard generations were sometimes adequate. I tested several slideshows from WnSoft site which had animations, video, masking, and even the spinning cubes and all were silky smooth and very rich looking. So maybe beginning now with the new HD 4000 (and whatever the future holds) ... PTE slideshows and processor graphic capabilities can live in harmony. Its not the perfect solution to using discrete (add-on) graphic cards ... but its a nice capable alternative till one saves up and buys the graphic card they want later. *Only selected Gen3 processors have the HD 4000 graphics. The other Gen3 models will come with the HD 2500 version. So for users shopping for new PCs ... spend the little extra for models that have the HD 4000 * I still plan on buying a add-on graphic card ... but just wanted users to know how well this performs with PTE before I do. * The Intel i5-3570K processor is on a Intel Z77-K series desktop board running 1866 ram. I really dont know how well other models and laptops will perform with the new HD 4000 graphics ... but Im quite impressed and very happy with mine.
  19. Peter, As Igor has mentioned ... usually rebooting sovles most icon corruption issues. Another resolve for solving severe icon issues or to rebuild the entire icon cache is to remove/delete the IconCache.db file. This .db file contains the cache of all your icons old and new. By removing the IconCache.db file ... you are essentially clearing the current icon database. Once you reboot, Windows will rebuild a new IconCache.db file with only the current and new icon data (rebuilds itself silently). The new build wont contain any old or unused icon data from the past. The file is within the Username\AppData\Local folder. Each username has its own IconCache.db file. *Applies to XP, Vista, Win7
  20. Eric, I find this Anomoly interesting between v7.04 vs v7.07. * Do you still have v7.04 installed and tested a menu with the same features/setting you are using in v7.07 ? * Is your v7.07 difficulty more with Desktop/Taskbar Flashback playback display when using Run Application ... or with the project menu construction/control ? * Are you still using the exact same PC/OS, Video Card, and Video drivers when v7.04 menu performed to your liking ? * Were you using Run Slideshow or Run Application actions to launch your slideshows in v7.04 menu ? * If v7.04 better performs to your liking vs v7.07 ... why not still use v7.04 to built the menu ?
  21. Eric, Nothing has been changed or is different between last years version. Theres probably something different in your settings used in the older version you have missed upon. As I mentioned briefly in the earlier post ... mixing Run Slideshow and Run Application in the same menu slideshow can present another challenge when using music. I see that one of your run actions is Run Application ... whereas all others are Run Slideshow. * You may also change the setting Enabled: Pause when slide show inactive to obtain certain playback behaviour.
  22. Gary, This is normal behaviour with Manual slideshows. Since you are in control and if you jump-the-gun ... the sound playback becomes out of sync. What you need to do then to control your manual advance actions ... is create the slideshow with Auto-Advance actions and intermittently adding Manual Advance(Wait) actions on selected slides ...or vise versa as Manual Advance(Wait) actions with intermittent Auto-Advance actions on selected slides. PTE offers lots of flexibility here to support your needs in which to combine manual and auto in combination. See Image Attachment as an example for first 3 slides for making Manual Advance(Wait as default) actions with intermitant custom Auto-Advance actions and Loop actions on selected slides. Play around with these Slide actions in your own slideshow so you have auto playback and manual control when you need it. There is alot you can do if you explore the features. *I now personally prefer to use the Customize Windows feature to build the menu button aspect portions of a manual slideshow ... as these are available at any time using F1 key to suit ones needs or by button actions. See Attachment.
  23. Eric, These are my observations of your submitted Memories of Summer.pte file. @ Project Options: Enabled: Wait for Key Disabled: Syncronize Music Enabled: Pause when slide show inactive @ SLIDE 1 Your Comments: Slide 1 blank sound added via customise slide add music My Observations: --Blank Slide, 5 sec, Wait --No Objects, No Actions --Slide Music (32 sec) Play New --No Added Sound @ SLIDE 2 Your Comments: Slide 2 & 3 picture slides with text My Observations: --Image Slide, 5 sec, Wait --2 Objects, No Actions --No Slide Music --No Added Sound @ SLIDE 3 Your Comments: Slide 2 & 3 picture slides with text My Observations: --Image Slide, 5 sec, Wait --2 Objects, No Actions --No Slide Music --No Added Sound @ SLIDE 4 Your Comments: 4 button slide, no music My Observations: --Image Slide, 5 sec, Wait --14 Objects, 1 Image- Action: Run Application, 13 Buttons Actions: Run Slideshow with Return --No Slide Music --No Added Sound @ SLIDE 5 Your Comments: 5 6 & 7, separate music clip added as first slide. My Observations: --Image Slide, 5 sec, Wait --2 Objects, No Actions --Slide Music (40 sec) Play New --No Added Sound @ SLIDE 6 Your Comments: 5 6 & 7, separate music clip added as first slide. My Observations: --Image Slide, 5 sec, Wait --2 Objects, No Actions --No Slide Music --No Added Sound @ SLIDE 7 Your Comments: 5 6 & 7, separate music clip added as first slide. My Observations: --Blank Slide, 5 sec, Wait --No Objects, No Actions --No Slide Music --No Added Sound The Important Part Now ... I need to know exactly how you want the music to behave. Where it should start, where it should stop, and where it should not play at all.. (The previous posts are too confusing to get any clear detail.) Note: * If you want music on a slide to stop playing from previous slide music ... enable checkbox Play New Background Music in Slide Music ... however, dont add any music files (keep it blank) * Remember RunSlideshow and Run Application are two different actions and behave differently. - RunSlideshow uses the same (one) engine for playback of PTE slideshows. This action does not promote desktop/taskbar flashback because of its single instance. - Run Application uses different (multiple) engines for playback of PTE slideshows. This action promotes desktop/taskbar flashback because of multiple instances and varies on certain systems, video cards, or drivers.
  24. Eric, Just attach your project menu.pte file to the board ( no music and image resources are needed). This way we have a better idea of all your settings and how to proceed. I will look for it after work today.
  25. Hugh, I have a WD Media PLayer which I use on a Samsung TV (which internally has limted formats) and I have no problem playing HD Video (H264) created by PTE. I even use ISO format video files. From the WD PDF: Supported Video Formats The following video file formats are supported. AVI (Xvid, AVC, MPEG1/2/4) MPG/MPEG VOB/ISO MKV (h.264, x.264, AVC, MPEG1/2/4) TS/TP/M2T (MPEG1/2/4, AVC, VC-1) MP4/MOV (MPEG4, h.264) M2TS WMV9 (VC-1) Maybe your WD Player needs a firmware update ?
