I would like to see audio tracks within PTE as shown in the attached picture. The starting positions of the clips and the forms of the envelopes should be programmable in PTE. Regards, Xaver

Try: Timed Points > Arrange All Points Regards, Xaver

Manfred, I's not clear what you really would like to have! Regards, Xaver

Hello Lin, IF you look at some pte-files, you will see that the slide times do not occur anywhere. The program only saves the transition points in milliseconds as global parameters. Perhaps this may be the reason why the programmers do not like the slide times as personal settings. By the way: It is not clear to me why the customized timing settings distinguish between "By default (Show next slide after indicated time interval)" and "Show next slide after indicated time interval". Best regards, Xaver

Time is not regarded as a personal setting, it will not be set back. In order to reset the time, you have to use the global project options (Do not forget to click "Set for existing .." and "ok"). Regards, Xaver

Peter, "Transparent To Selection" is an attribute for the running show (exe/preview), but it has consequences in the editor, as well; not that good perhaps!? In the editor it may be better to use the tool "Ignore Objects Not Selected". Regards, Xaver

Hi Lin, It's good to have someone here who acts in a sensible way, stopping the silly process of mutual teasing Best regards, Xaver

I hope that you will be happy with your 2-star lens (2 out of 5, sub-average in the true sense) Regards, Xaver

We should not dispute about nothing! Important for the perspective representation of a scene is the distance between the observation point and the objects in the 3D space. So, here we need a distance parameter. In order to specify what is to be seen on the screen we additionally have to fix a field of view. This can be done using angles, or using zoom parameters relative to a default view, or introducing a kind of focal length (something like the distance between the observation point and the screen), or ... (Many roads lead to Rome) As said above: The existing zoom function in PTE is a 3D-scaling, and it does not provide the correct field of view. Regards, Xaver

A closer look shows that m.objects seems to have more sophisticated rotation parameters. So you can directly program a rotation of an object around a perpendicular axis, which can be done in PTE with the help of parent objects. In m.objects, there is only one distance parameter in the Z-direction, but an additional field-of-view parameter. They seem to use the (slightly different, but equivalent) concept that I have proposed. Regards, Xaver

Here the conclusion from "www.photozone.de/canon-eos/412-tamron_18270_3563vc_canon": All-in-all the lens may be a tad better than Canon's 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 IS but if you're looking for high image quality rather than convenience you should look elsewhere. Regards, Xaver

Just a remark: The 3D objects in the new version 5 of m-objects have parameters "camera position" and "distance" Regards, Xaver

Jean-Pierre, Moving the scene forwards along the z-axis and make a photographic zoom obviously leads to a similar result as placing the observation point backwards. Moving the observation point off the center can be regarded as using a shift lens. As we know, the concepts are (more or less) identical. So, the questions is: How to explain it to the children, what is easier to understand? It is needless to say that I support your proposal, regardless in which way this functionality will be called! Best regards, Xaver

This observation is closely related to the fact that the zoom function in the present version is a 3D-scaling, and not a zoom in the photographic sense (enlarged crop of the 2D view). It would be nice to have both kinds of zoom. Regards, Xaver

Presently, PTE works neutral with respect to color profiles. Example: If you normally work with AdobeRGB, but use for presentation a projector using sRGB, you should prepare for your PTE presentation a set of (resized) copies of your images converted to sRGB. Regards, Xaver

The Release Candidate's mini player and O&A editor work well on my office machine with onboard Intel graphics chip. Regards, Xaver

I would like to know this, as well. Regards, Xaver

Igor, Version Beta25 (October 23) solves the problem with the Intel Graphics Controller (Intel 82865G, 64 MB memory). This is not the machine that I normally use for PTE Regards, Xaver

Igor, I can reproduce the appearance of this message (PicturesToExe requires hardware acceleration ...) with versions Beta22 and Beta25 (HW_picturestoexe-setup.zip) on an old office computer with Intel onboard graphic system (running DirectX 9.0C), not in all cases but with a show including an animated cube (similar to the ones pulished by Lin Evens and thedom). The message shows whenever I open the O&A window, but only in cases where the mini player has run before. If I do not touch the mini player, I can use the functions of the O&A window, although the preview does not run very smooth. Regards, Xaver

This is indeed true! Isn't it an odd discount system where 9 licenses cost more than 25? Regards, Xaver

Hi Peter, The longer I think about your proposal, the more problems come up to understand what you really want to have. How is the situation today (for sake of simplicity) in the purely 2D case of version 5? The position and size of the top level (parent) objects are described by their O&A parameters, and these parameters refer to the overall screen. What about their children? After creation, a child doesn't do anything. It is "glued" on top of its parent, and it follows wherever the parent goes or turns. The child may obtain its own key points and its own O&A parameters. These parameters refer to the child's own screen (which is not the overall screen). What is the child's screen? It is a possibly moving array spanned by the corresponding parent object (you may say that the parent itself constitutes the child's screen). So, the child's position changes are described in a relative fashion. This is a standard hierarchical model (scene graph), simple and highly effective at the same time. My question: What precise changes do you propose for the given 2D model? A remark on the 3D situation: As the discussion of Igor and Umberto shows, the 3D model for PTE does not yet seem to be settled so far. Best regards Xaver

Peter, We had a very similar discussion some time ago. Regarding the fact that the parent/child mechanism allows tree like structures of arbitrary depth (similar to a file system, here with the screen as common root), I have to say that my mathematically shaped head starts to ache. Regards, xaver

Peter, I agree with your statement; but there should be a warning if you open a v5-project with PTE v6, and try to save it. If you do it, you will no longer be in the position to open your v5-project with PTE v5. Regards, Xaver

Peter, Here is another modification of your example. It contains the bottom part twice. Regards, Xaver 3D_Test-mod2.zip
