  1. I haven't used 5.7 so far. The effect which you describe seems to have the following origin: If you add a border to an image you add the same amount pixels to the height and the width of your image. Thus, the aspect ratio will change a little bit. Regards, Xaver
  2. If he were responding to me, I would not mind either Regards, Xaver
  3. Gary, In case you have multiple audio tracks you typically place your songs alternately on two parallel tracks. So, the waveforms (sitting on different lines) will immediately show you where the change of music takes place. Would this be a solution for your problem? Regards, Xaver
  4. Gary, Several suggestions have been made towards the revision of PTE's audio part (multiple audio tracks with additional features). So, I would not like to see WnSoft wasting time on the present (single) audio channel. Regards, Xaver
  5. Peter, Create AVI can be used with the Standard Edition, as well. Using the PicturesToExe Video Codec provides a frame server for your show which can be used for transcoding. Regards, Xaver
  6. Peter, Use Audacity in order to create a silent audio clip having the length equal to the time of the first slide. Insert it at the beginning of your play list (project options, music). This is not elegant, but it works. Regards, Xaver
  7. The Evans are not brothers (one is English, the other one is American) If you open a slide's objects and animation window you will find in the menu bar a button for adding frames (these are transparent rectangles). They are typically used together with visible child objects, and they may serve for animation control. Regards, Xaver
  8. Hi Lin, Regarding your new template, I must say: a highly sophisticated work. I reminds me (to some extent) to the approach of JPD who once demonstrated a zoom in a frame in front of a zooming background. Today, having masks at hand, JPD's example is easy to realize. So I hope not to be regarded as being unfair, if I say that your construction is to be seen as a workaround, not as a solution. The solution has to be provided by WnSoft: Insertion of video objects. Regards, Xaver
  9. I do not fear a comparison between my opinions and some other people's facts Regards, Xaver
  10. Let me add the remark that my contributions typically are not based on guesses. If my English does not express this in an appropriate way, please excuse my linguistic shortcomings Regards, Xaver
  11. Ken, Did you read the contributions of John (jfa), Peter (fh1805), Umberto, Xaver (xahu34), and others on this subject? Nobody would use the word "broke" in this context, but (expressing it in a positive way) let me call the audio features of PTE "minimalist"; others have used the word "poor". Regards, Xaver
  12. Are you sure? In my opinion, a PTE version 5.x will never use an older version of the video builder. By the way - version 5.6 is still within the 2 year period of the first deluxe version. So, all present videobuilder licenses should be valid for 5.6! Regards, Xaver
  13. There isn't a separate upgrade for PTE editor and VideoBuilder. Regards, Xaver
  14. I like this approach (either with transition effect or without), as well. It has the advantage that timing can be manipulated in the timeline view. Regards, xaver
  15. Hi pwear, You are right that Wings and m.objects provide multiple tracks for images, while PTE is restricted to one crossfade track of image containers (called slides). Multiple tracks have several advantages, while the PTE model supports hierarchical structures (called parent/child relationships), a real advantage of PTE. One might start a discussion, which model is the better one, but I would recommend to leave this part of PTE just as it is. Nevertheless I would like to see the possibility of several audio tracks (instead of just one). Why shouldn't it be possible to see more than one waveform in the Timeline view, and in the O&A window, as well. The waveform representations should offer the possibility to shift the audio clips, and to manipulate their volume (envelope function). Best regards, Xaver
  16. I think that this is a good suggestion. It would even be better if WnSoft would revise the process of delivery of keys to users. As long as the e-mail with the registration acknowledgment contains instructions which refer to a file attachment which in many cases is shown as part of the mail itself, the registration problem will remain. Regards, Xaver
  17. The quality of a user's English should not be considered as essential. You may use the forum as a playground for enhancing your language capabilities. It actually works! Best regards, Xaver
  18. Hi, I think that the problem mentioned by Ken is related to the fact that the PTE forum is used (or shall I say "misused") by members who permanently offer PTE related services or products. I would prefer to see just a list of links to the corresponding web sites, while permanent marketing activities inside the PTE forum should be stopped Best regards, Xaver
  19. I would like to express the recommendation to read posts carefully and to spend some time on reflection before entering a reply. In cases where users are not certain about the value and correctness of their contribution it sometimes might be better, not to add a post. A problem with many forums (including this one) is that "experience" is measured by the number of posts, obviously not a perfect way to do it! Best regards, Xaver
  20. Hi Eric, only recently (if I remember it correctly), you were asking for a software which transforms images from one aspect ratio to another - in a lossless way. Compared to this requirement, the audio features for PTE, as requested by Peter, myself, and others, are not a big affair Regards, Xaver
  21. ... and this should include features like they have been described by Peter (fh1805) in post 22, above!!! Regards, Xaver
  22. David, With "overloaded" I wanted to say that (beside PTE) lots of other programs (browsers, office programs, etc.) were running at the same time. Furthermore, the effect of tiling occurred only with 1-channel greyscale images. Regards, Xaver
  23. Eric, Panos FX does not refer to panoramas, but to the website of Panos Efstathiadis, a Greek PS expert who sells PS actions. Regards, Xaver
  24. Let me add the remark, that the screen shot from above looks similar to an image I posted some time ago, see here. Regards, Xaver
  25. I once had similar problems, when I ran a PTE show on an overloaded, rather old system with an on-board graphics card. Regards, Xaver
