  1. David, Can you upload some screen shots? Regards, Xaver
  2. Hi Colin, I have some doubts that donation will be good model for PTE. Irfan Skiljan has millions of users, and in his case, donation for private users in combination with a registration fee for commercial users, seems to work well. Adding donation to the present payment scheme for PTE may lead to a lot of confusion. Maybe it would be better to add new features (like the integration of video objects into slide shows) to the deluxe version in order to motivate users to purchase an upgrade. Best regards, Xaver
  3. It is not quite clear to me what you mean here. Do you have problems with color management? PTE does not respect color profiles. Images used by PTE have to be converted according to the color settings of the system where the show is about to be run. Regards, Xaver
  4. I would prefer "Ignore Objects Not Selected", which offers a similar functionality during editing, but does not have any effect on the objects in the final product (preview or exe-file). Regards, Xaver
  5. Andrew, Maybe it will be helpful to choose the option "Ignore Objects Not Selected" in the Tools menu (Alt+i). Regards, Xaver
  6. I don't think so! Regards, Xaver
  7. You may read Peter's FAQ, see here. Regards, Xaver
  8. Admiral, Did you activate "Synchronize music and slides"? Regards, Xaver
  9. Maybe that you are right. On the other hand, having transition durations that exceed the slide times leads to a problem on principle. Consider three slides, slide1, slide2, slide3. Assume that the transition duration of slide2 exceeds its slide time. When slide2 is about to finish, you will see a mixture of images from slide1 and from slide2. If now want to have a smooth transition to slide3, it would be necessary to have mixtures of images from all three slides. The problem now is, that PTE does not provide access to the images of slide1 during the lifetime of slide3. So, the transition of slide3 typically will be show jerks or flickers. Here we have a situation, where the programming model of m.objects and Wings (using arbitrarily many parallel tracks) shows an advantage. Regards, Xaver
  10. Long zooms naturally lead to problems. Some time ago, Lin Evans made some studies on the "infinite" zoom, see here. Regards, Xaver
  11. The highly priced products of the competitors from Austria and Germany offer 3D animation. Regards, Xaver
  12. You should copy the slides from the demo to your new project using the method described here. Regards, Xaver
  13. PTE uses "Deflate", the standard compression algorithm for zip files (as used by WinZip or 7zip) with compression degree "Normal". Regards, Xaver
  14. In my opinion, zip-compression is lossless. Why should it be not desirable? Just another point, beside compression: What Brian suggests may be considered as helpful, but his "Zip Backup" and PTE's "Create Backup in Zip" are different affairs. The PTE function exports a PTE project including copies of the data needed for this project, but does not deal with exe-files or templates. Regards, Xaver
  15. Let me point out that this definition is not compatible with the function "Create Backup in Zip" from the File menu of PTE v5.x. Regards, Xaver
  16. I think that this is a good suggestion. An alternative would be that PTE would prevent the user from setting the parameters (effect duration, slide time) in the wrong way. Regards, Xaver
  17. Just a question: Doe the resolution settings of of your desktop actually match 1680x1050? Regards, Xaver
  18. Henri, You may try the following product from ASUS: EN9600GT SILENT/HTDI/512M. Regards, Xaver
  19. Hi Umberto, Regarding your groups (which remind me of the chapter elements from AquaSoft): Would you expect to have transitions between adjacent groups? Should each group have its own synchronized audio track? Regards, Xaver
  20. Hi Peter, I normally proceed in a similar way as you do. Inside the folder for a particular sequence, I place a subfolder with copies of the chosen images at full size. There will be at least one identically looking other folder containing the images at reduced size, and the growing versions of PTE-project-files. Regards, Xaver
  21. In the meantime, the version indication on the download page has been changed: (Build 5.6.4, May 14, 2009) Regards, Xaver
  22. As of version 9 (CS2) Photoshop includes sharpening based on deconvolution: Filter > Sharpen > Smart Sharpen. Regards, Xaver
  23. Try http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/picturestoexe-setup.zip! It is the latest version, while the version indication on the download page (Build 5.6.3, May 5, 2009) is outdated. Regards, Xaver
  24. Dudley, Let me propose to read the FAQs provided by Peter (fh1805), see here. Regards, Xaver
  25. The word "Reichsfuhrer" does not look good, and should be replaced by "Reichsführer-SS". From en.wikipedia.org on "Reichsführer-SS": "The title of this article contains the character ü. Where it is unavailable or not desired, the name may be represented as Reichsfuehrer-SS." Regards, Xaver
