  2. Good luck, and do not hesitate to ask questions, if needed! Regards, Xaver
  3. I could not find any WnSoftFolderInfo on my system! Regards, Xaver
  4. Leona, Version 5 offers a lot of additional functionality (including animation effects), but it also has higher demands on hardware. Some people (including myself) consider version 5 as rather self-explanatory, other users' opinions are in opposition. For version 5 there exist two editions, Standard and Deluxe. As you have a license for version 4 you can install PTE Standard without any additional costs, and it offers all features for building slide shows to be run on a PC. So use this edition first, and see if you like it. Version 5 will be installed into a separate folder, and you can use both versions in parallel. The Deluxe edition offers additional features (VideoBuilder), such as burning your shows on a DVD, or HD video export. The upgrade to PTE Deluxe can happen at a later point of time. Just one remark: When you run the setup for PTE version 5, both editions will be installed, but the VideoBuilder will run in a restricted way until you have purchased an additional key. Best regards, Xaver
  5. Philip, You still can download version 4: http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/pte449.zip ! Just a question: Are are all transitions slow and rough, or only particular ones? Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  6. Bundles, Welcome to the PTE forum. Here are a few short answers and a remark: - Having your background, the use of PTE should not be that difficult. A lot of functions (in particular the basic ones) are quite self-explanatory. - You can have a navigation bar which behaves as you like it. - Presently, PTE does not support video objects as part of PTE shows. PTE provides features like hardware-rendered animations and dynamic masks, features you typically find only in products beyond 500 Euro. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  7. Barry, See my remark here. Please reformulate your post as an idea/suggestion for a future version. Regards, Xaver
  8. Leona, if you have the Deluxe version of PTE you can easily export your shows as HD video for PC and Mac (MP.4). Regards, Xaver H. Munich
  9. Barry, My experience is that a PTE show automatically covers the main (1st) monitor. Regards, Xaver H. Munich
  10. The problem of opening web pages on mouse click has remained, see here, here, or here. Regards, Xaver
  11. This proposal sounds good, but there had to be contributors and of course someone to organize this process. Users of m.objects are in a nice position as there is a particular user who has hosted and published tutorials since 2002, see here. Regards, Xaver
  12. Laszlo, Presently, PTE does not provide the integration of video objects, see also here and here! Best regards, Xaver H. Munch
  13. tsktsk, You should choose as "Aspect ratio of a slide" (screen options) exactly the aspect ratio given by your images. If you do not tick "Fixed size of slide", the program should work as you want it to do. Best regards, Xaver H. Munich
  14. Sorry, but this does not seem to be a good decision. New versions can mean improvements, bugs will be fixed, and new features will show up. Some new features will have a demand for better hardware, maybe others not. I myself do not have a high end graphic system, and I have to be careful using masks. I still hesitate regarding an upgrade, as my machine works quite well as it is; so why making a change? Some people try to make others believe that AV has to include all kinds of effects which actually is not the case. Good photos, good ideas and stories, and coherent presentations are much more important than any kind of of hardware demanding razzle-dazzle. Best regards, Xaver
  15. Eric, maybe you expect a little bit too much. One function of this forum is to help others, and this really worked within this thread, I think. But there cannot be something like a legal claim for particular services. There will always be new versions, and who should be responsible for providing the appropriate test shows. Each user has her/his own responsibility. Best regards, Xaver
  16. Eric, I think that Dave's remark (running the projector while switching off the notebook monitor) is a good one. You also may have noticed that there exist several threads in this forum (mostly related to the Canon SX 50) which indicate that presentations which run excellently on a PC monitor can show bad effects on particular projectors. So, did you test your shows using the projector, or did you only test them with your monitor? I would always recommend to test a presentation using exactly the same equipment as it is planned to be used during the final show. Best regards, Xaver
  17. Gary, Here is a workaround for your problem: - Do not use Autospread. - Determine the length of of your music in seconds. - Use a pocket calculator (or the calculator from Windows Accessories) in order to determine the display time of the slides to be changed. - Now, use the slide list (not the time line): Highlight the first slide, scroll to the last one and click it while pressing the Shift key. Now all slides should be highlighted. - While keeping the Control key pressed, de-highlight those slides whose display times should not be changed. - Open the Customize Slide window and enter the precalculated time and click OK. Backup your project before you start! Good luck, Xaver
  18. Frankly Dave, Try harder to understand him ... or even better ... ask him in Farsi Best regards, Xaver
  19. Gary, When looking at pte-files (using a text editor) you will see that just the modification of the display time of a particular slide will not lead to personal (customized) settings for it, i.e. display time is not regarded as a customized setting at all. As a consequence, a change of time settings via the project options also has its effect on those slides which previously have been changed via the Customize Slide window. So, the situation seems to be more complex than one would expect, and I see problems for the realization of the proposed feature. Best regards, Xaver
  20. This is actually Abdol's proposal (... I think if igor set it for two case was very nice ...) Regards, Xaver
  21. Igor, Many users obtain their IP addresses from their ISPs on a daily basis. So, the IP address blocked today might belong to someone quite innocent tomorrow. Best regards, Xaver
  22. Hi, Regarding the problem of not reaching particular Web pages on mouse click: Already with version 5.1 it happens that URLs appear modified in the standard browser in the way it has been reported (capital letters are changed to small ones, e.g. http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/help/5.6/PicturesToExe_User_Guide_v560.pdf is changed to http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/help/5.6/picturestoexe_user_guide_v560.pdf). Best regards, Xaver
  23. Hi Abdol, I can imagine situations where your proposal might be quite useful. Best regards, Xaver
  24. It is nice to read this. Let us all look foreword to another upcoming discussion on user friendliness and further mournful cries for version 4 Never mind Xaver
  25. Hi Abdol, The action "Pause" will stop (on mouse click) the presentation of images. If "Synchronize music and slides" has been chosen, the music will stop as well; otherwise the music will continue to play. What do you think is wrong here? Best regards, Xaver
