Fabrizio, If I had to decide, I would prefer the integration of video objects. But, 3D animation would not be bad either. Best regards, Xaver

I got the impression that there is a bug in PTE being responsible for modifications of URLs when calling the standard browser on mouse click: Capital letters are replaced by small ones. Regards, Xaver
-
I do not know where the transformation to lower case letters takes place (PTE or Windows). On Unix/Linux systems file names are treated case sensitive. Therefore a Web server (sitting on top of such an OS) is predestined to run into trouble if requests do not respect this convention. Regards, Xaver

Thanks again! Xaver

On my machine I still observe the problem that URLs which are handed over from the Run/Open field in PTE to the browser are modified to lower case, leading to 404 errors on Apache servers; see my previous post. Regards, Xaver

Hi all, I noticed one problem when I tried to open on mouse click the following document from the Web: "http://www.wnsoft.com/apr/help/5.6/PicturesToExe_User_Guide_v560.pdf" using “Open Web page” , as well as using “Run application or open file”. After pressing the button the standard browser opened (tested with IEv6 and Firefox), but in the browser's address line the file name appeared in small letters, leading to a 404 Not Found error on the Apache Web server. Regards, Xaver

Larry, Thank you for this very interesting link! Do you know other sources of this kind? Best regards, Xaver Munich

You may look at http://www.richardgoldsworthy.net/. This music is royalty free (as I was told by the artist). Best regards, Xaver Munich
-
Andrew, How did insert the music, via "Project Options" or via "Customize Slide"? If you use the Project Options an choose synchronization of music and slides, there should not be a gap. Best regards, Xaver Munich

Ron, I don't think that JPD's thread is the correct place to start a technical discussion on problems and quality regarding AVIs or MP4s. You may open a new discussion in the AVI/DVD/VideoBuilder forum. Best regards, Xaver Munich

Yes, on my office PC (several years old with an Intel onboard graphic chip) when several instances of MS Office programs and several instances of Firefox were running at the same time. Another question: Did this effect show up directly after opening the pte-file, or only after great number of programming steps? Maybe that your PC had a lack of resources!? Regards, Xaver

See here. You can also create an account at mediafire.com. Best regards, Xaver Munich

I am sorry to say that (regarding Data Execution Prevention) I am not an expert, either. So, I would make a few tests with different DEP settings, and (if needed) I would contact the WnSoft Service. After each change of DEP settings a reboot should take place, see also here. Regards, Xaver
-
Does this warning show up every time (also after reboot), or just sporadically? You can (temporarily) disable Data Execution Prevention by changing the NoExecute option in C:\boot.ini: NoExecute=AlwaysOff, the default setting is NoExecute=OptIn . Regards, Xaver

Jeff, I also do not see anything in your show that looks "broken". In its final position PICT0002 covers PICT0032. Your mask controls the opacity of PICT0002. In the middle your mask is purely white, so the opacity of PICT0002 there is 100%. In the outer regions your mask has RGB-values of 61, 57, 58 (not really grey but a little bit red), and as one can expect: PICT0002 is about 25% opaque (but not completely transparent) in this region. Best regards, Xaver
-
In PTE v.5.6 you can use objects of type "Mask container". Inside such containers you can place real images and masks (black/white images) which control the opacity of the real images (similar to layer masks in PS). Masks and images can be animated independently. Best regards, Xaver Munich

Hi all, Here is a new version without the restriction to horizontal pans. The pan can be turned into any direction. Frames show color in order to demonstrate the effects. Regards, Xaver ForPeterAndDavePart2.zip PS: The version published a few minutes ago (now deleted) contained an error!
-
Hi all, Here is an easy example! Regards, Xaver ForPeterAndDave.zip
-
Hi Dave, Not before you have asked. But it works! Regards, Xaver
-
Peter, Let the object to be moved be a child of a transparent frame and program the movement (pan) as a superposition of two movements, a linear one (frame), and an accelerated one (object). Both movements should stop at the same point of time. The linear movement should be kept all the time, while the accelerated one should start at an intermediate point of time. This seems to be a model which leads to a speed which stays linear (constant) for some time and which later shows acceleration. Best regards, Xaver

The only thing that you are missing is that this point has already been discussed a few posts further up in this thread. Regards, Xaver

Brian, I do not see any contradiction between your statement and mine. There are applications that do not use the clipboard for copying (in particular cases). PTE v5.6.1 is an example when copying slides in the slide list. This may be the reason why it is not possible to copy slides from one running entity of PTE into the slide list of a second one. Regards, Xaver
-
Brian, Goddi, Most of the copy actions (comments, various text fields, objects in O&A window) are carried out via the Windows Clipboard. Copying slides in the slide list does not make use of it. Regards, Xaver
-
Daniel, In case of images or text objects, the cursor changes, these are objects where you normally do not expect to have an action. Buttons (where you expect an action) change themselves. Why not? Best regards, Xaver

Sorry Dave, I have already uninstalled 4.49 (it had grabbed the pte file extension). As far as I got it from the few moments I looked at it, I could see that it places images in original mode. I think that newcomers, typically using several monitors and projectors with different resolutions, rather like relative positioning and scaling of images. So, the question arises, what should be the basic features of the new version which are to be compared with those of 4.49. For image positioning you need the pan function, for scaling you need zooms, even if you do not make use of keypoints and animation. Regards, Xaver
