  1. I think that you are on the right track! As far as I know: Most projectors can only produce sRGB images. Regards, Xaver
  2. Doug, 1. Insert the birds into the slide list. 2. Go to 'Project Options > Comments'. Insert template 'Picture Name', and click 'Set for existing slides'. In the same way, choose font, position and other settings. 3. Insert other images without text. Regards, Xaver
  3. Cedric, You are right! This bug (or is it a feature?) also happens with v 5.6.3. Apart from this bug, scaling is done relative to the total time the slide is to be seen (display time + transition time) which is the only consistent way of doing it. On the other hand, as the length of the transition time has influence on the scaling, it does not always lead to results which one may expect. I do not consider this feature as very helpful, and I have never used it. Regards, Xaver
  4. Hi Paul, My Windows XP system seems to offer two audio interfaces: MME (Multimedia Extensions) and DirectSound. Both make use of the same Realtec audio chip on my motherboard. In the configuration I described above, where I configured my system in a way to have front and rear speakers (instead of Line in/out) stereo tracks are played via 4 speakers, but only if the player uses the DirectSound interface. Audacity 1.3.7B offers a choice (MME: only front speakers, DirectSound: 4 speakers), while PTE seems to use MME. Regards, Xaver
  5. Thanks, Eric Regards, Xaver
  6. Hi, I made the following test: I configured the audio driver of my system in a way to have front and rear speakers. I connected four speakers and ran a normal stereo mp3-file. While Goldwave, Windows MP, VLC, and MPlayerC HC served the front and rear speakers, it happened that Audacity, IrfanView, and PTE only played the music using the front speakers. Regards, Xaver
  7. Hi Eric, Could you please be so kind and give us some more details. What did you expect from your Zoom H2, and what did you get? What about your general experience with the H2? Regards, Xaver
  8. Peter, In principle, you are right. But not all laptops are well suited for real-time hardware-rendering, in particular when animation and mask objects are used. As possible alternatives, WMV or MP4 videos could be taken into consideration. Regards, Xaver
  9. The display has an aspect ratio of 16:10 Regards, Xaver
  10. masimajen, See here! I hope this helps. Regards, Xaver
  11. Hi Eric, I am sure that I did it, did you? Regards, Xaver
  12. Eric, Thank you for this information. Regards, Xaver
  13. Eric, As you said, dragging the line enlarges the thumnails in the slide view, and it enlarges the waveform in timeline view. But dragging does not spread or contract (the width of a second or minute on) the timeline. Regards, Xaver
  14. Maybe too simple!? (I hope that I was able to understand you high level English correctly ) Xaver
  15. Eric, Did you test it? The voices do not sound bad, but lifeless Regards, Xaver
  16. Andrew, You may have a look at the following series of articles by Ron Davies: Producing an AV Sequence. Regards, Xaver
  17. 50 Hz is not included in the manual's list of Digital RGB signals supported by the Canon SX50. Regards, Xaver
  18. I have doubts that the windowed mode will be helpful here. I learned from the developer of m.objects that this software uses a windowed mode under Win XP. The tearing problems with the SX50 I could see were the same as I noticed when using PTE. Regards, Xaver
  19. You can create an AVI at any resolution using the PicturesToExe Video Codec. This delivers a temporary AVI which serves as a frame server. It is a very small file, and it will only exist as long as the corresponding instance of the PTE application is running. This AVI is uncompressed, and it can be transcoded, e.g. with Windows Media Encoder into a WMV video, or using MeGUI/x264 into a H.264 video ... Regards, Xaver
  20. FlightDeck's contribution can be regarded as polemical. I don't think that he really wants a discussion on the projector subject. But making up this new thread, in my eyes it's an overreaction. Regards, Xaver
  21. Hi, I have to apologize that my above post contributes to the fact that this topic is about to loose its way, I am sorry. Regarding the new Web page, I'm not that much impressed. But this should not be a matter to worry about! Regards, Xaver
  22. KDJ, It may be a matter of discussion, if your contribution is political, or not. Regarding the said tearing problem, I am pretty sure that it is a particular matter of the Canon SX50. With the SX50 the same problem also shows up in productions made with m.objects, while using the SX60 they never occur (PTE and m.objects). You should not ask the impossible! Regards, Xaver
  23. Hi Ed, Highlight the minutes, seconds or seconds*(1/1000) with your mouse. Then, something should happen when clicking the arrows! Regards, Xaver
  24. I guess that PTE uses its own libraries of encoders for the creation of DVD-Videos. Looking at PTE's VideoBuilder folder, it seems to me that the versions 5.5 and 5.6 use the same libraries. Regards, Xaver
  25. Hi Ed, In my opinion, the standard fade in/out transitions in PTE work well. Generating 3rd images in PS cannot be the general solution, and I really do not see any need for doing it very often. On the other hand, it can be helpful in particular cases. If I had to apply PS for each transition, I would change the AV software, but I am pretty sure that this will not happen. Regards, Xaver
