  1. just drag the left triangle to the right to adjust the start time. What I do when working with a long video is to open another copy of PTE & add the original video. I can easily drag the play head to roughly where I want to edit, then Trim the start. I then adjust that mostly in Timeline, but with fine adjustments in O&A. I then copy that Slide into my Project & the video is the correct length for what I want. If you are worried about them all having the same name, then just change the Slide Name in Slide Options. If you keep it all with the same filename then PTE is only having to load it once, rather than having to load lots of separate files. Hopefully there will be easier ways to edit video in V12 Jill
  2. If you use the Timeline view rather than going into O&A to trim the video, then just play the video up to the point you want it to start. Then right click & Trim Beginning of video. For the end point I just drop the next slide in at the point I want it to end. If you don't get it exactly right then you can always fine tune it in O&A afterwards. I find this method quick & easy Jill
  3. you go from 0 to 720 - so it gives a complete rotation twice. By going back to 0 it will rotate twice in the opposite direction, ie going back to the starting point. K3 needs to be 1440 for it to keep rotating twice more in the same direction Jill
  4. The Slide Time in Project Options is the default time when adding new Slides. You Adjust the Time for existing Slides in Timeline View. Move the Slides/Videos along the Timeline to fit your Music. If you have 'Sync Slides to Music' unticked then when you play Full screen the music will always start at the beginning. If 'Sync' is ticked then the music plays from the point you are at in the Timeline. When playing in the Timeline view in the Mini Preview window, the music always plays from the point you are at regardless of the setting of 'Sync' It was exactly the same in V10, no changes in V11 Jill
  5. I have not had any of these problems that you describe. There is no difference between V10 & V11 that would cause this. Even if you wish to adjust the music manually you still need to keep the 'Sync Music to Slides' ticked, so that it will play correctly with the Slides. I do not understand how the timings can change when you save the show & reopen it. Make sure you are using the latest version 11 & also untick 'Full Duration' as this can cause problems if you move Slides to different position or even adjust the timings. Jill
  6. You can't copy keyframes unfortunately. You could use a modifier to make the opacity change. Try the oscillation. Jill
  7. To run a show manually you need to set 'Wait for Keypress to show next Slide' You can do this for the whole show (in Project Options/Control) or on a Slide basis using Slide Options (Main Tab) If you do it on a Slide basis then you can easily mix manual & automatic together. You can then advance through the Slides by pressing the Right Arrow key on the Keyboard. (you can also use a dumb mouse if you are not at the keyboard) When you advance to the automatic part, that section will run until it reaches the next Slide with 'Wait for Keypress' PTE is extremely powerful & flexible to create any show of your choice. A Slide can contain any number of Objects - Still Image, Video, Text, Animations etc Jill
  8. You get all versions of that Release for free. So v9, V9.01, V9.02 etc. V10, V11 etc are new releases. The cost of an upgrade is very small & well worth it. But if you leave it several releases, then you will need to buy again. The developers need to make some money to keep on improving the product. Put your hand in your pocket & upgrade, you will be amazed at all the new features. Jill
  9. Welcome Jo. Once you get used to PTE you will find it very easy to use, but also very powerful. Enjoy the process & experiment with different options. Everything is virtual so you cannot destroy your original pictures no matter what you do. Just remember to save your Projects frequently, ideally with a different name each time, so you can go back if you need to. But there is also unlimited Undo feature, so you can easily step backwards. If you want just 1 picture to fade out, then add a Blank Slide (Black) after it - Right Click & Add Blank Slide. You then set the Transition on the Blank Slide so that the previous Slide (your Picture) will Fade as you wish. Hope this helps Jill
  10. I use Templates all the time for finished projects. It is then very easy to transfer between computers & everything is accessible from with PTE. No need to go searching for the right folders. Jill
  11. Maybe because it is over 2gb. Try making a smaller file by removing some images. Save the project as a new name first so you have a backup. Or save the project as a template rather than backup zip. Jill
  12. Ideally you should Normalise each sound clip before bringing it into PTE. Depending on the levels of the clip you may need to Normalise sections of it individually. Normalise to about -3 to -1 DB, no higher. Jill
  13. Not something I have ever used, but have you tested it on another computer? Jill
  14. That would be brilliant if you could. I also have trouble seeing the Rotate and also the Centre Dot marker on some images. Would be good if that could be made larger also, or maybe an option to change the colour of it if possible. Jill
  15. As I understand it, when you stabilise, you could end up with black edges/corners as it may crop the image to be able to align each of the video frames. By Expanding, you effectively zoom into the image a bit to remove these. Jill
  16. Don't put yourself down, it is possible to teach an old dog new tricks! Keyframes are really easy to use once you undertand the principle. You have a start point & an end point. Simply position your Object at the Starting postion on the first Keyframe Right Click on the Keyframe & select Clone Move the Keyframe along the Timeline to where you want the movement to end & then position your object in it's end position. PTE works out the movement in between. So for what you were trying to do in having a small image move off screen. 1st Keyframe, your image is on screen in it's starting postion. 2nd Keyframe move your image to be off screen That is all there is to it. Jill
  17. Another perhaps easier way to do this is to start with one image that has your background & all the small images on it. Move just your first image off screen. Copy & Paste this Slide for however many small images you have, for example 20. Make sure that you have a quick transition 0 seconds between each Slide. Then just move 1 small image off on each Slide. You may find this easier to control as you won't have to worry about having lots of KeyFrames on 1 Slide & worrying about the timing of each KeyFrame. Just make sure that you select the correct small image on each. You can delete the small images from the Slide once you have moved them off. So Slide 1 would have 20 small images & you move number 1 off Quick Transition to Slide 2 which has 19 small images & you move number 2 off Quick Transition to Slide 3 which has 18 small images & you move number 3 off Continue until you have moved all the small images revealing your background Hope this helps Jill
  18. I never use Slide Styles, but if you look in File/Templates/Manage Templates it show where they are stored. If you copy this Folder to your new computer to the same place then I think they should then all show. Jill
  19. Add a Blank Mask, then add the Heart Symbol as the Mask Stencil. This gives you a Transparent Heart. Add your Image as Mask Content. You can then adjust the size of the Heart as required Jill
  20. No question is silly when you are learning. Jill
  21. The program already does this and always has. Used Main images have their file name highlighted in Blue. Much easier to see with the light interface. Jill
  22. Hi Phil, Try clicking the C: in the top Menu. This should open a dropdown with all drives available. I don't use Dropbox any more so can't check. Jill
  23. PTE is very easy to use, the best thing is that everything you do is virtual, so you can't destroy your pictures or sound files. The best way to learn is just to try things & see what they do. Don't get hung up on the numbers, just move things with the mouse & see the effect. Also try a Right Click if you are looking for something, it usually brings up options to do what you want. There is unlimited Undo so it is easy to step back if something doesn't work as expected. Have fun & play until you get used to it, then you will discover just how powerful PTE is. Jill
  24. Both very easy to do. 1. In the Timeline drag the grey bar above the Slide to the duration you want, so just drag it back until it shows Zero. Or in Slide View click the box above the Slide & enter 0.0 2. Hold Down Shift & your mouse pointer will change to a Finger when you are over the Centre point. Keep holding Shift while you drag it to where you want. Or you can change the position by adjusting the Numbers in the Animation Tab for Centre I see that Digartal was replying at the same time as I was. Jill
