  1. I started with V3 in about 2004 but was only playing around with it then. Didn't really produce anything properly until 2006. Jill
  2. No problem I don't do that much animation & if I do, then I try to break it down into smaller slides so I can see the keyframes. Also as I work with 2 monitors i can always drag the window across both to get a wider view if I need it. But a way to expand the Timeline will be a great help, especially now we can see the waveform it is helpful to expand that to get exact timing with the sound. Jill
  3. Thanks for the suggestions. If key frames are very close together then having larger keyframs can make it more difficult. It is the width of the Timeline that is the problem when you have a long slide. If it is only a few sevonds it is not a problem. With some text even at 150% I struggle to read it, especially when my eyes are tired. Jill
  4. Can you connect some different speakers, just to try it? If the sound is fine on your laptop, then it must be something to do with the desktop speakers.
  5. Great News, this will be a really useful feature. I do work with a maximised window on a 1920 monitor. But as my eyesight is poor I have the text size set to 150% otherwise I cannot see it. This means the Timeline in O&A is not as wide so very difficult to see when keyframes are close together. Jill
  6. I am using Windows7 & driver is 13/12/2011 Ver 6.0.1.6526 So very old! I don't have centre or sub woofer, I have my computer connected to my Hi-Fi system only 2 speakers. John is using Windows8.1 & he has the same tabs as I do, but his driver is 2018. Maybe something to do with the sound card or version of Windows? Jill
  7. Hi Lin, Ale was asking about enlarging the Timeline in O&A. This is something many people have asked for, but at the moment it is not possible. Hopefully in future version! Jill
  8. Hi Raymond, I have tried your test file & the music level is consistent throughout. It does not change when the voice comment comes in. Not sure what settings could cause this problem on your desktop, but make sure all other input sounds are muted, such as Microphone, Line in etc. Hopefully you will have the following on your desktop. Right click on Speaker icon at the right of the task bar. Select Playback devices Select your Speakers Click Properties Select the Levels Tab Jill
  9. I use PTE for all my sound mixing and I have never noticed any unintentional change in volume. Jill
  10. When opening any show in a different version I would always do a save as and give it a new name. Purely so I have a backup copy of the original just in case. If going from pte9 to pte10 and all you want is a new exe then just make it, no need to save the PTE file. Jill
  11. Thanks for making the change so quickly. These are now fixed. Jill
  12. Ok this makes sense. The problem is that on many laptops the Esc key is very near to the power switch & in the dark when you are looking at the main projection screen it can be possible to hit the wrong key & switch the laptop off!! It is not a problem when working at home, only when giving demonstrations or using PTE for single image competitions. Jill
  13. Glad that you have found the problem. I have just tried on my desktop which still has RC5 (I haven't yet downloaded the final version) It works as V9 and changes to the Toolbar happen immediately. On my laptop you have to click OK first. Both Win 7 Jill Just downloaded the final release version & that works on my desktop. Strange that it doesn't work on my laptop.
  14. Have you checked in your Spam folder? Jill
  15. By name I meant 'X' 'Y' etc not 'Pan' or 'Zoom' Was writing from memory - I knew what I meant!! Jill
  16. When giving demonstrations of PTE I have often wished for a reset button in O&A & keep forgetting to ask! It would be very useful to be able to click one button to reset all parameters to their default positions in O&A. I know we can reset each value by double click on the name, but if you have made several changes it can be a lot of clicks! So if you have zoomed, dragged and rotated the image by using the grab handles to then reset everything back to zero there are a lot of clicks. If you have made other changes such as blur, opacity or colour it can take a while to reset everything. Even using the undo (assuming you want to reset immediately) there can still be several clicks. If you have made changes to other slides that you wish to keep then you cannot use the undo. Having a single button to reset all parameters would speed things up. Jill
  17. I was giving a demonstration to a camera Club of the new PTE10 tonight. I was showing how you can customise the Toolbars & noticed that they no longer change immediately. In PTE9 if you tick/untick or move the position of an item in Preferences/Toolbars the change happens on screen immediately without having to click OK. In PTE10 you have to click OK before the change takes place. Is it possible for the changes to take place as they did in V9? Also the little triangle 'Fullscreen view of Filelist' used to be on by default. Not sure when the default was changed to Off , but for beginners it is much better to have the default set to On. Can the default be changed back to On please. Fullscreen view of Fileslist/Slidelist In V9 & all previous versions when in Fullscreen view you can click on a thumbnail of a slide & press the spacebar to display the image fullscreen. Pressing spacebar again would return to the thumbnail view Now in V10, not only does it seem to take a lot longer to display the fullscreen image, but it no longer returns using the spacebar. You now have to use Esc to return to the thumbnail view. Being able to quickly toggle thumbnail/fullscreen using the spacebar was very useful. The spacebar is easy to hit in the dark, the Esc key is more difficult to find. Jill
  18. The standard was very high, it was hard to select the winners. I think almost all of 74 entries were made with PTE. Jill
  19. It's already on the AV News website www.avnews.org.uk I will send out an AV Links newsletter next week sometime to also include the results of the RPS Nationals being held this weekend in Leeds. Jill
  20. Could be useful especially on smaller screens. Jill
  21. Highlight the slides you wish to move & drag them to the new position. This may be easier in the fullscreen Slidelist view when you can see more (all) the slides. Click the little triangle next to Slides/Timeline bottom right of screen. Jill
  22. Yes it happens when topics have been moved and if you click the link to the moved topic it still stays bold. I then have to click the mark forum as read button to unbold it. Jill
  23. An easy way to get a list of which files are used in a project is to make a Template. Open this in Windows explorer and you can sort it how you want. I know it isn't a printed list but at least you can quickly see all the files used. Jill
