  1. Verison 10.n has amazing video playback quality without requiring video optimization (converter). After a video is inserted into the slide list the O&A Adjust Time Range can be used to set in and out points (trim). Even if you are using just a small part of a large video file the complete video file is included in the .pteav data file. Maybe it would be possible to have an automatic trimmer that reads the Adjust Time Range in and out points and do a lossless cut at the nearest keyframe before and after the trim time. It would help reduce the file size without affecting quality. Thanks, Tom
  2. Absolutely true. I can't think of any software I have used over the last 30+ years with support as good as this. Tom
  3. The deer that were jumping our fences to get to our apple trees are temporarily? scared of surveyor's marker tape attached to wires above the fence line. Not very attractive but we really like to grow our own food as much as possible. Our cats are contained. Unfortunately the little dogs in our neighborhood that love to chase cars are not. Tom
  4. Still learning how to make transitions. The image crop works great (instead of using a mask to remove half of the image). I tried to add a shadow but was not happy with the results. Thanks, Tom Added variable opacity in v2. Folding v1.pteeff Folding v2.pteeff
  5. Hi Rosy, Advantage of video trimming in slide list is a convenience if you change your mind instead of deleting and adjusting in file list. The advantage of fullscreen slide lightbox simulation is great if your eyes are tired. I think F3 (file list) and F4 (slide list) with ctl/cmd + scroll wheel zoom and space bar preview are really nice. Tom
  6. That was fast. Thanks, Tom
  7. When Igor optimized video playback of video files in PTE 10 the convert/trim feature was removed from the slide list. I never thought about Jill's option of opening a second copy of PTE and replacing the video. That would work. Rosy, the option that does not work is only in full screen file list (F3 or up arrow above file list). Yes, it works great in the normal file list. The right click option in full screen file list should probably be removed, enabled, or disabled (grayed out) just to avoid users like me noticing the option. I will probably create an Ideas and Suggestions for trim option or auto trim (based on video time range) during slideshow .pteav creation. Thanks, Tom
  8. The location where I miss not having the convert/trim option is in the slide list. If you decide you want to trim a video after it's a slide then you have to delete the slide and trim and add again. As far as I know (not verified) if you use the Objects and Animation option Adjust Time Range it does not change the size of the slideshow unless you produce a video. Maybe it is possible to use the convert/trim video clip option as an external editor but I don't know how. Tom
  9. PTE 10.5. If I right click on a video in full screen file list there is a convert/trim video clip option but it does not seem to do anything? It is the same on Mac and Windows. I can still convert/trim in the normal file list. Thanks, Tom
  10. Just a quick note on Mac audio. The Mac has many audio input and output channels that can be mixed together. I am using Big Sur and the new M1 silicon Mac mini. I think I finally have the missing audio screen recording issue resolved after watching this video and installing 2 ch Blackhole virtual audio driver. Now Quicktime Player screen recorder is capturing the audio. Audio Hijack might be another option but Blackhole is free and was easy to install and configure. https://existential.audio/blackhole/ Thanks, Tom
  11. Hi Rosy, Great video quality. I like TP-Link products. We have 3 indoor cats but they have an enclosed Catio (Patio for Cats). Thanks, Tom
  12. Hi Igor, Good to know. Also, if there is a directory path in front of the filename does PTE first look in that directory, then if it does not find the file, also look in the current working directory? I try to remember to remove the path in front of filename but not sure if that is required? Thanks, Tom
  13. Only noticed during testing Menu compatibility between Mac and Windows. Easily fixed by renaming the .pteav file or moving it to a different directory. Thanks, Tom
  14. I noticed that Windows PTE AV Studio created slideshows (Executable File for PC) checks for a .pteav of the same name before looking inside itself for .pteav data. For instance, if I have test1.exe (created with Executable File for PC) and test1.pteav (created with Show for Mac) it will play the contents of test1.pteav (might not contain the same media as test1.exe) if they are both in the same folder. Maybe PTE AV Studio only has one type of player which may or may not be integrated with data, so it defaults to searching for a .pteav file first? Maybe just normal behavior? Thanks, Tom
  15. I'm not sure if this is how it works for everyone else but on both Windows and Mac I just use "Run Slideshow With Return" and point to the .pteav file. It seems to work fine. I'm guessing it just uses the same player in memory instead of loading a new copy. Thanks, Tom
  16. Thanks everyone. I know the name is kind of misleading. Maybe I should have made two versions, inflate and deflate. So many variations possible of a simple theme. Tom
  17. Hi Smithrg, The transition editor makes it easy to create transitions and it's fun to experiment. Thanks, Tom
  18. I'm sure others have created such a transition but it is fun to experiment. The outer buttons are 100% opacity and inner buttons are variable opacity. Created on Mac, tested on Windows. 16:9 aspect ratio. Images from pixabay.com. Thanks, Tom Balloon.pteeff
  19. Welcome Jacques, I think this will help. https://docs.pteavstudio.com/en-us/10.0/customtransition/main?s[]=transitions#import_custom_transitions Thanks, Tom
  20. Thanks everyone. It's a very simple transition compared to most other custom transitions. I have added 4 corner diagonal transitions in this version. Probably many other variations possible with a little imagination. Tom Stretch 2.pteeff
  21. Very simple transition. Sorry if someone else already posted. Created on Mac and tested on Windows. 16:9 Format. Media from pixabay.com. Thanks, Tom Stretch.pteeff
  22. I was using the Windows version but the Mac user interface is identical. Mac and Windows projects are compatible. The performance of the Mac M1 version is fantastic. Kudos to the developers. Thanks, Tom
  23. Interesting. There are two other apps I have never used. Maybe you have Wine or CrossOver installed? For me the file CHESS.zip extracts to CHESS.exe. CHESS.exe will extract out to a 0 byte % file. Another unsolved mystery. Tom
  24. Hi Henri, The PTE transition editor is amazing. So many different transitions are possible. Thanks, Tom
  25. If you can play the .exe on an Intel processor Mac then you are probably using either 1) Bootcamp 2) VMWare Fusion 3) Parallels. It might be possible in the future Igor could associate .exe files with the PTE AV Player and it would automatically extract the .pteav/.ptshow data. Definitely great slideshow of 3D animation. Thanks, Tom
