In timeline view I can set the red line time cursor and right click on the video and select "Trim Beginning of Video". The end of the video can be set by click and drag. Is this the method you are using to adjust the transition points? If it is fast and simple then I'm all for using that method.

Hi JT, I don't think I would use a feature that requires me to offset the start time of the video for multiple slides. If absolute time reference is not a solution then maybe slide name + relative time is a better solution. Another possible solution would be if we could name keyframes we could have the button action "Go to Keyframe". I'm sure there is a workable solution that saves time. My specific use is a training video slideshow with F1 window that has chapter markers to offset into video. Thanks, Tom

We have "Go to Slide With Name". It works great for photos but not for long duration videos. It would be great if we could jump to a specific time in the slideshow. It would be useful for video bookmarks since we do not have an easy method to split video like we have for audio.

I think after you spend more time using the software it will be less of a problem. PTE is like a musical instrument, if you practice you will get better. You might try adding your videos after you apply the default duration to your slides (Project Options, Main, Timing, Default slide duration). Some users like to time their slide durations to the music using the + - transition point option on the timeline tab. Thanks, Tom

That is the method I use. Before we had the separate audio from video option (right click on timeline video object), there was a different method that I think still works. You have to mute the video and then import the video again as an audio track (change file type option to video). Tom

I am using a custom window (Project Options, Advanced, Custom windows, Show settings) for a F1 help/navigation menu so I can jump to a specific slide. The button action on mouse click - "go to slide with name" are missing names. It is possible to select a slide name/number button action from a non-custom window slide. I can make it work if I copy a non-custom slide with buttons and paste the button objects into a custom slide. Maybe not a bug but if possible add go to slide with name to custom windows. I have checked PTE 9 and PTE 10. Neither work unless I use the alternative method. Thanks, Tom

I think if the main object (1) of the slide is a video it would display the filename and extension on the bottom of the screen *if* you have it enabled to display under Preferences, Toolbars, File name. Also you could right click on the slide and select file info (ctl + i) for file type. You could also select a slide and press the space bar to see if a video plays. Many options to choose from. Probably other methods that I can't remember. Tom

Clone keyframes very common. Alt + Insert or right click on the keyframe and select clone key frame. Tom

Hi Paul, Your rotating decorations reminds me of a wireframe sphere a few of us were playing with about 10 years ago. I remember someone embedding images in the center of the sphere. This video sample has artifacts compared to the PTE player version.

You could also use a button action to open a new window over the same slide with the answer and another button action to close the foreground window. Tom

I like the XY tripod base and external monitor. Much faster to transfer slides to digital than a flatbed. I also remember installing SCSI I/O cards for scanners and external DVD drives a long time ago. USB is so much easier now. Kodak Slide Projectors reminds me of my first job at our local University in early 80s. The Media Services department had hundreds of slide projectors for faculty to use in the classroom. My job was repairing VCRs, CRT type TVs, and servicing slide projectors. A projector has a cam stack with many levers. Timing and lever travel was critical in order to avoid stuck slides. Cams would wear out and need replacing, greasing, etc. Eventually Windows PCs with MS PowePoint replaced most of the projectors and I am glad those days are long gone. Tom

A nice feature available in some video editors is the ability to adjust track volume and master volume separately. We have keyframe volume adjust but if you have multiple clips in one track you have to adjust them separately. The ability to mix keyframe volume, track volume, and master volume would allow greater control and faster adjustment. Thanks, Tom

Great minds think alike. I like your animated water and look forward to possible displacement mapping in a future PTE version. In 2020 I created 2 YT videos something like your slideshow but using wallpaper engine for videos instead of animated photos. Music obtained from my Filmora library. Video and audio combined in PTE. Many years ago Igor posted a flying in clouds over ocean (not video) slideshow that was interesting. I am hoping 2021 will be better. Tom

It sounds like it should be fixed if it's not correct for your regional formatting. I hope Igor reads this and puts number formatting on his low priority patch list. Our scientists have converted to metric but everyone else over here is stuck on Imperial measurements. Tom

Version 10.0.14 One of my favorite features in the Objects and Animation Editor is the variable zoom hotkey combination (Ctrl + Mouse Wheel). The number formatting for percentage zoom decimal point for the US (and I think the UK) is a dot instead of a comma. If the decimal separator could be location specific that would be nice.
