It looks like will be getting an ipad4. Dg

I had a problem recently (on my laptop) where for some reason I had lost the Monitor Profile in Display / Advanced / Colour Management (Vista). When I first read this thread it was the first thing that came to mind (same symptoms), but I didn't suggest it because others would not see the same thing as you. It only affected my NX2. Worth checking? DG

Thanks Tom, In my world NAS is "Nikon Acquisition Syndrome". DG

Check the colour settings in all of the software you use - as said above convert to sRGB. ProPhoto RGB will give a similar look when viewed in sRGB space. Photoshop's Save for the Web will automatically convert to sRGB - there is a tick box to look out for. DG

Nicely done - reminds me of some of the work that Lin Evans has done. Small point - why is the finished product here such a large file size? If you are using the same large elements which will also be used in the final production it might be understandable but for a 4:3 1024x768 could these elements not be reduced in size? DG

I think that the need for some means of moving a track up or down (other than the menu) would be a welcome addition. My reason for choosing just the up or down arrow is that the one key operation cannot accidentally change the setup of the synchronisation. The position of any track from top to bottom changes nothing in the setup. DG P.S. With regard to similarities between various software packages, Igor drew an analogy between PTE and Photoshop in another (very) recent post so I merely reciprocated.

Igor, Could we use UP and DOWN Arrows to move a Highlighted Audio Track up and down?? The use of these arrows is quite common in other software applications. DG P.S. I just noticed that Peter has mentioned a similar suggestion.

Peter, Will try when possible. My post was based on a Vista example. DG

I am not seeing this behaviour - perhaps you can explain in more detail. If I adjust my penultimate slide to end with music, I can still play the last slide in O&A. Vista. DG

would anyone care to comment on their experiences with PTE Video for iPad 3. Quality? Resolution (1920x1080)? Fill Screen (or part screen)? Transitions (Smooth)? I have made a short (4 minute) MP4 using the iPad defaults and the quality when played back on my PC with MPC-HC is great for the file size (it's great - full stop!). Anyone have any do's or don'ts? I anticipate getting one in the near future and have been doing a little research into it. It seems easy enough to get the Video into the iPad using the SD Card adaptor. TIA, DG

I can confirm that a current model SONY TV can Repeat Play an MPEG4 file via its USB input. I can confirm that a current model SONY BluRay DVD can Repeat Play an MPEG4 file via its USB input. I can confirm that a Sony BR DVD Player can Repeat Play an MPEG4 file via its USB input when connected to an Epson 1920x1080 Projector via HDMI. DG

Jerry, What are you going to use to play the MPEG4? If TV Media Player, for instance, there is usually a means of repeating the play of the file there? DG

The option is for the Slideshow only. DG

The slideshow option to play continuously is in project options - Main? DG

I think that he wants to be able to mute the sound in O and A?? DG

When I first suggested "Preferences" many moons ago one of my hopes was that we would be able to set "Cover Slide" or "Fit Slide" as one of the options. Sadly, it was not to be - but it is certainly something worth mentioning to Igor? DG

John, I'm assuming that you are talking about "Ignore objects not selected"? It works for me in Beta 10. Overlay two images and make the top one s,aller than the background one. Select the Background image in the Object Pane. Click somewhere within the foreground image and drag. The Background image should move leaving the Foreground image as it was. That's how I expect this feature to work? DG

Leo, There is nothing wrong with 1920x1080 and the highest quality level possible. But it results in large project file sizes. You can reduce the project file size by reducing the quality to a level at which you cannot see any JPEG artifacts. That's why I suggested "Save for the Web" which allows you to SEE any artifacts when viewed at 100% before saving. If you intend to zoom into an image (or rotate) you will need to have a larger resolution image (e.g. 3840x2160 will allow a 200% zoom) and then the use of lower quality (artifact free) images is advisable. Shooting in RAW and post processing in 16 Bit gives a lot more leeway. DG

Because you are investigating BluRay, 1920x1080 (minimum) would seem to be the obvious choice. It will not have any adverse effects when burning a standard DVD. Regarding quality: the quality setting that you use when cropping and saving will depend on a number of factors and to give a fixed quality setting is inadvisable. If you have an editing package which allows "Save For The Web" you can usually see the quality you can expect before pressing the save button. For instance, I would quite happily try to go to 60-70% quality when saving a 16 Bit RAW Conversion to JPEG with my existing camera but when saving a 16 Bit RAW conversion from an older DSLR with a "smaller" sensor I would not go below 80-90% quality. Please bare in mind that if you are using JPEGs in-camera (as opposed to TIFF or RAW), the file has already been compressed and cropping and saving is going to degrade the image even further (to some degree!). Confirm what Lin said. It works fine in V7.5 Beta 10 but not in V7.0.7. DG

Start new project as test. Set Keep Full Slide Duration on. Drag video into slide list. What happens? DG

Keep Full Slide Duration? DG

Lin, I thought exactly the same thing as Vilara after I read your post. I knew what you meant (I think) but it did not read that way. The Audio belonging to the Video must be offset to match the start time of the Video and then, as you say, synchronisation should not be a problem. Best wishes, DG
