What does "Free lifetime upgrades" really mean?
davegee replied to alan sh's topic in General Discussion
Contact wnsoft quoting your email address and the date that you purchased v7.5. DG Check your existing serial. If the format is: xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx it "might" allow you to install V8?? V8 will not overwrite V7.5 so you won't "kill" anything. -

At the time of writing Styles are not “additive” and if a Style is applied to a Slide then any original animation is overwritten by the Style. However, it is possible to “combine” styles in two ways (with a proviso). If the two Styles being combined relate to different object/images then the process is no more complicated than a simple Copy and Paste from one Slide to another and the resulting “combined” Style can be saved as a new Style. If the two Styles to be “combined” relate to the same Object/Image then in is necessary to adopt a new strategy for creating Styles to facilitate this. The strategy that I have adopted is the use of Frames to host the Object/Image so that the Frame has all of the Animation applied to it leaving the Object/Image free of all animation (it "inherits" the animation of its parent frame). Here’s a simple example: PTE has two BASIC Styles called “Pan Down” and “Pan Right” where the animation produced by the Style is applied directly to the Image. I have made new versions of these (and other) basic styles so that the animation is applied to a frame which holds the Image. By dragging two instances of a single image into the Slide List I can apply “Pan Down (DG)” to the first and “Pan Right (DG)” to the second. If I then delete the Image from the first instance in Objects and Animation and leave its Frame I can Copy and Paste the Frame from Slide two to the Frame in Slide one as shown below. The result is shown below: Further refinements: The procedure could be repeated to obtain a result with 3 or more frames. The image could then have animation applied to it. All of these steps could be saved as individual Styles and result in a saving of repetitive work when building a project. Here are the Styles: Pan Down DG.ptestyle Pan Right DG.ptestyle Pan Down Right DG.ptestyle

Zoom value doesn't change when zooming with ALT + mouse movement?

Zoom value doesn't change when zooming with ALT + mouse movement?
davegee replied to hamsterboy's topic in Troubleshooting
Try it Lin, He can be excused for thinking that he is Zooming - that exactly how it looks Take a slide into O&A and with the object/image selected Hold Alt+Left Mouse Button and move the Mouse North/South and watch the Pan Z parameter in the 3D Box. DG -

Zoom value doesn't change when zooming with ALT + mouse movement?
davegee replied to hamsterboy's topic in Troubleshooting
"One thing that bugged me is that when I use the (undocumented?) zooming feature......." http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/hotkeys/main The reason that the Zoom Value stays at 100% is that you are not Zooming in the strictest sense - you are altering the Pan Z Parameter. i.e. you are moving the object closer or further away in 3D space at the same 100% Zoom value. Ditto the Cover Screen "Problem". See the Animation Tab / 3D Button. DG -
P.s. make sure that you do not have any previous versions I.e. version 7.xxx or v 8.xxx DG

You didn't answer my specific question - have you used the PTE uninstaller?

Give full details of the video files that you are trying to drag into the slide list.

Not too clear from your posts - have you uninstalled / 're-installed using the PTE uninstaller and the latest download from these pages?? DG

Standardise Aspect Ratio Height for New Projects?
davegee replied to davegee's topic in Suggestions for Next Versions
...was what for you Ken? -
Igor, In a future version would it be possible to standardise the Height (in pixels) for all Aspect Ratios when starting a new project? Examples: 4:3 = 1440x1080 3:2 = 1620x1080 5:4 = 1350x1080 16:9 = 1920x1080 16:10 = 1920x1200 The last one (1920x1200 = 16:10) is standardised to the width. I see no point in causing an annoyance to the many people still using 16:10 My monitor is, (for the time being) still 1920x1200, but I never use that AR for projects. I think that it is fair to say that there are now more people using 1080 high (and higher) monitors than all the rest put together?? DG

I suggest that a little time reading some of the main headings of the Online Help File would be of benefit with regard to PTE. http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/main In Project Options / Main and Screen you can change your Resolution and Aspect Ratio of your show. Set 16:9 and 1920x1080 (or 1280x720). Make a one slide show and burn to a dvd as a trial and go from there. DG P.S. have you considered upgrading to version 8?

Presumably you are making a 4:3 show?? ...and the 4:3 show is being distorted to fit the width of the TV and maintain the height?? ....thus, short fat people. Make your show in the 16:9 format and add (superimpose) your 4:3 images on the 16:9 show. If you are zooming your images you will need a Matte to contain and maintain the 4:3 images. Untick Project Options / Screen/ "Fixed Size of Slide (in pixels)" before burning the DVD. When you preview the show you should see a 4:3 show with background coloured strips to the left and right. Try making a single slide 16x9 Project and burn that to DVD as a trial. BTW you are at least two versions behind the current Version 8 which doesn't help. If you were running the current Version 8 I could post a Style which you could use as a Template for making your show. If I have made wrong assumptions about your AR etc please come back with more detail? Make of TV / DVD Player? Standard DVD Player or BluRay? HDMI or Scart connection? If you are sure that you have checked ALL settings on the TV is there a menu on the DVD / BluRay Player that you might have missed? DG

The Online Help File: http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/project-options/audio-tab#adding_the_audio_of_a_video_clip_to_an_audio_track DG P.S. if you add your video clip as the First Slide and add its audio using the above method you can LINK the audio to its slide using the right click menu in Timeline View. Then, when you re-position the slide, its audio will automatically sync to the slide.

PTE has the facility (built in) to convert all audio tracks to a single mp3 for the exe file thus reducing the exe file size and potentially solving your problem? (Or not) Worth a try? DG

Download version 7.5 from here: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/14948-picturestoexe-deluxe-75-beta/ ...or upgrade to version 8. You will be able to supply you details when upgrading. DG

Which version are you trying to activate? The key that you describe is possibly for an earlier version than version 8. Go to wnsoft.com and find the older version which suits your key or upgrade to version 8. http://www.wnsoft.com/archives/
