  1. Further to the above post, here's a Style which you could use to determine the correct percentage for your DVD Player / TV. Import the style and apply to a blank 16:9 slide. This will produce a short 8 slide project. Burn to DVD and try it on your setup. Whe the white line fits your TV correctly - that's the percentage you need to use. TV Safe Zone.ptestyle You could also use it to prove the MP4 method. DG
  2. All DVD/TV setups have a "TV Safe" Zone which varies from brand to brand and was greater on CRT TVs than on modern LCD (etc) TVs. If you use a figure of AROUND 90-93% for your TV you will not be far out. (Experiment). For your own viewing on your own TV you would be far better off using the "Publish as HD Video" option and outputting as an MP4. The MP4 can be transferred to a USB Memory Key and plugged into the USB port on your Panasonic TV. TV Safe area does not then come into play. If you wish to send DVDs to friends etc then you need to take account of the 90-93% reduction in size needed to get all of the picture into play. DG
  3. So it is, Mick. DG
  4. Let us know when it is approved, Mick? DG
  5. Hi Chuck, A good place to start would the "Suggestions for new versions". When you do that users sometimes step in with workarounds etc. Igor will pick it up eventually. Right now there is a big push on Version 9 which appears to be keeping the team busy. DG
  6. By "show" do you mean as an "executable" or as a "video" (mp4; avi etc).

  9. .......or even in Windows Explorer DG
  10. Mick, Is it, perhaps, best done in your RAW converter or Image Processing software? I adopted a File Naming Protocol a few cameras ago by changing the Prefix of the File in camera to the camera name so that my images are named: 200_xxxx 201_xxxx etc 300_xxxx 301_xxxx etc 600_xxxx 601_xxxx etc 700_xxxx 701_xxxx etc 720_xxxx ...and with the exception of the glitch between the 700 and the 600 (the 700 came first) all of my files will automatically fall into chronological order. But I accept that it is not always that easy especially when someone has two cameras of different makes etc running concurrently. My RAW Converter will sort files in a folder and rename them in the following protocol regardless of camera model (but they have to be .NEF): 20040323-024417.NEF ...........Date-Time. It is very likely that Photoshop, LR etc will do this for a folder of JPEGs provided that you have not discarded the EXIF data but I don't know if the file has to be re-saved during the process. A lot of people I know swear by "PhotoMechanic" for this sort of work but if LR is as good as I am told it is surely it will also do it? When I went to the Cloud I left LR where it was - it is still up there somewhere I don't like renaming my images but if it really is a requirement for someone I think that it is best done by software which is designed for the job.
  11. This is an "offshoot" of the discussion in "Suggestions" regarding Buttons. The attached Style and EXE both show the PTE Preset Buttons and what to expect when they are configured with links. All colours etc are fully configurable. The Style allows you to see how they are configured - for those who are not conversant with Styles the EXE shows the same Presets but obviously you cannot examine in depth in Objects and Animation. Buttons 2.ptestyle - Add a blank slide to the Slide List and Apply the Style. Buttons 2.zip DG
  12. Jeff, It might take you a few days to get the answer so why not test it for yourself? Make a couple of short test shows with short expiry dates (tomorrow, the day after etc) and embed them into a master show which would expire the day after the last one to expire. That might give you the info you want. Search for "Create a Menu Slide" in the Online Help File for more details. http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/main DG
  13. It doesn't answer Geoff's (specific) requiremet, but I "think" that this is what Denis is suggesting."Deep Aqua" Button with HSL adjustments. Button.ptestyle Apply the style to a single blank slide. Play in Preview or EXE mode. DG
  14. Thanks Peter, I have updated the Online Help File. http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/techniques/button#properties_of_the_button_text DG
  15. Geoff, I agree that a workaround is not a long term solution. Why not mention it in "suggestions for next version"? It might not be too late? DG
  16. Jeff, Put a TEXT BOX over the top of the Button and the Mouse will respond to it - change to a hand. Adjust the Button to create the size/length that you want and apply text over the top with the link. DG
  17. Can you give us some details of a typical project which crashes? What is the size (in Mb) of the project? Create a Template or a Backup in ZIP and read off the size in Mb of the folder or Zip File. How many JPEGs, Videos, Audio Files etc? Have you reduced your JPEG files to the bare minimum required for the project e.g. 1920x1080 is all that you need for a static image in a show if you are outputting in HD (1920x1080) format. Are you using WAV or mp3 Audio files? Do you have any video in the project - have you converted the video in PicturesToExe? It sounds like a resources problem because of your past experiences with other software. Try creating a number of test versions of your project - Leave out the Video and / or Audio - does it work with just the JPEGs? Try starting a new project with just 10 or so JPEGs (1920x1080) and try to create the HD mp4. Try 100 JPEGs (1920x1080) and try to create the HD MP4. Add some mp3 Audio and try to create the HD MP4. Add a properly converted avi / mp4 and try to create the HD MP4. Start from a positive position and work your way up to the position where it fails and then analyse what you did to make it fail. DG
  18. Jeff, You can easily create this effect in Custom Transitions. DG
  19. Just out of interest I tried a shot that I had taken this morning as a full resolution JPEG (6000x4000) and zoomed into it over a twenty second duration. Smooth as silk, and the resulting percentage at the end of the zoom is 370%. I then upscaled the same JPEG to 10000 wide and did the same test. I got the same result - smooth zoom to 617%. W7 i7 - nVidia GT545 with 3Gb Ram. DG
  20. It is back up now. DG
  21. Just guessing here, but if you are refering to the "Centre of Circle Effect" is it possible that it ONLY operates on the CIRCLE effect. If that is the case maybe it should not be there for Diamond and Square? If it is a fault then the "Centre of Circle Effect" needs to be renamed. DG
  22. Why not resize a COPY of the image and work your way down until it shows OK? Try 50% - if that works OK try 75% - if that works OK try 87.5% etc. Please let us know and we can try it on our PCs? DG
  23. Frans, A search for "insert" would find it. DG
  24. Hi, In W7 and PTE V8.0.18 I cannot reproduce your problem. Perhaps my settings are not the same as yours? With the settings as shown below, I have control of the show, my cursor is always available and the Slide name is always shown. DG
