  1. Hi David, Yes of course you can still open old sequences in V9. Hope to see you Friday at WGAV - I can go through things with you if you need. Jill

    Path Name

Gary, surely it is the actual image that matters not what type of file it is. If you have the same file name with different extensions then you must have created them yourself? So why not give them a different name when you create them. Having the same name with different types is bound to lead to confusion. The full screen view of slides works as a light box, you can see all of your images and rearrange them easily. You can see which are video files and which are single images or PNG files by the way they display. As I said before, once an image is in the slidelist it's type shouldn't matter Jill

    Path Name

Gary, you should be able to tell what type the file is in the Filelist by it's Icon. Once you have added it to the Slidelist/Timeline does it matter - you should know what you have added? Jill
  4. Igor, will we be able to add 4K video files to the Slides to create an exe? Jill
  5. Hi Anthony, This is as expected. Each Object has it's own Timeline as in previous versions. To see the Timelines for more than one Object you can - CTRL+A to see all Objects Click on one Object then CTRL+click on the other Objects you wish to see Click on first Object you want and then Shift+click on the last Object you want to select a group You can then move the Keyfeames as a block for all selected Objects or change other properties such as colour/font etc of text Jill
  6. Al, you need to right click a keyframe & select Clone keyframe rather than using the '+' button. By selecting Clone then all parameters will be ticked. This is a change in PTE9. Jill
  7. This is sad news. We knew Maureen had not been well & was in a hospice, but didn't realise how ill she was. Our condolences to Robert,, she will be greatly missed by all who her knew her. Jill
  8. just tried 9.0.2 & it now works Also retried 9.0.1 after installing 9.0.2 & 9.0.1 works!! - something strange must have happened last night Jill
  9. Igor, I am trying to copy & paste a slide within the same project in 9.0.1 The Paste option is greyed out. Happens on both my desktop & laptop, both windows 7 64 bit Jill
  10. I am trying to copy & Paste a Slide in Slide View in version 9.0.1 Paste is greyed out. This worked in RC2 - don't have anything later on my PC now. I am sure it worked in 9.0, but 9.0.1 has overwritten that. Jill
  11. FX designer, if I am reading your request correctly, it sounds as though you want to build up several images on top of a static image. If these images are only part of the frame then they need to be .png images - ie with a transparent background made in something like Photoshop. These images can then be easily animated while the background remains static. The background image is at the bottom of the list of Objects, or it can be the actual background of the slide as DG explains. Jill
  12. Lin, As long as there is at least 1 slide in the slide list (even a Blank) you don't have to add the video file. Just go to project options/Audio Select Add audio file & the select video files from the dropdown. You can then easily add the audio from the video without having to add the video itself. Jill
  13. Hi Mike see PM The main thing I can see is that you have the full path name for the sequences which looks like a removable drive. Make sure the Menu & sequences are in the same folder & remove the full path. Also set the Slides to 'wait for Key Press' then you don't need set times for the individual slides. Jill
  14. There are times when I just want the sound from a video without actually adding the video to the slide list. So maybe the button should be called 'add audio from a video file' Jill
  15. I agree with Goddi that to include the audio from a video is not well known. A lot of people who use PTE do not look at the Forum or the documentation - Yes I know they should but they don't & this includes many established AV workers. Currently you have to know to click on the little down arrow to be able to select Video Files when you add an Audio File. Goddi's suggestion of adding an extra link at the top of the Audio Tab is a good one. Jill
  16. The 22nd Great Northern Festival took place over the weekend of 2nd to 4th December. There were a total of 49 entries, 46 made using PTE. The introduction sequence made use of the new Modifiers & Masks in PTE 9 Form more details and link to Results see post in 'AV events & Festivals' Here Jill
  17. The results of the 22nd Great Northern Festival are now available Here It was a great weekend with people attending from all over the UK, Ireland & the Netherlands. The Sequence played to Introduce the judges can be seen on our website www.gnfestival.org.uk It makes use of the new Modifier feature in PTE 9 & also text stencil Masks feature. Jill
  18. We have a total of 49 entries in the 22nd Great Northern Festival, they are very varied in subject matter and should make for a very interesting weekend. Out of the 49, there are 2 which are MP4 files & 1 is Proshow, the remaining 46 entries are all produced using PTE. If anyone is in the vicinity of Manchester on 2nd to 4th December you are very welcome to join us at the event. You can pay at the door, but it would help if you can let us know you will be attending. Full details are available on our website www.gnfestival.org.uk Details of Timings & directions can be found in the Newsletter We hope to see you there Jill
  19. Hi Tony, This is really easy to do if you set project options to default 'show next slide..' Then on the slides where you want to run them manually in Slide options set 'Wait for key press..' The show will then run or wait as appropriate. Forget about hyperlinks etc although they can be useful if you do want to miss sections out for a shorter show. I sometimes put a hidden button (zero opacity) in say the bottom left corner of each section of a manual show. I can then easily click on this hidden button (the mouse cursor will change to a hand symbol so you know you are on it) to jump to a different section of the show. Jill
  20. Oops I have changed into Jill who has been using my phone on the forum - o bgr! Is me John posting unless I get picked on at the next playtime - if so it was Jill!
  21. All very exciting - a good debate we should sell tickets! Couple if points - why cant the professional just hit control D and slap all his images into whatever size output he chooses. Yes he will have black at the sides but Lin is happy to accept that and every part of the proffesionals superb image will be shown be it on a TV projector Youtube or even magic lantern! The other point - I wonder how many proffesional wedding snappers/videographers there are that are actually current PTE users? We were promised that in America they would be queueing up to purchase the product once V8 with its slide styles came out. .... Maybe Igor can tell us if that happened? I assume at least that all Lin's proffesional colleages are Pte users?!! I await the next round with interest John
  22. Dave, a lot of camera clubs & individuals have 4:3 projectors. I still make most of my shows at 4:3 as that is the format of my camera & my own projector. It is only if I am including video that I will now make a 16:9 show. I never even realised there was a 5:4, it was not something I have ever used. Jill
  23. You should receive an email, or click on the envelope symbol top right of the forum window. Jill
  24. Hi Susan, Please see you personal messages. Jill
  25. Igor, anyone wanting to use the latest PTE will upgrade their system if the new features don't work on an old one. If they are happy with their current version & it does all they want (need) it to do then they wouldn't bother to upgrade anyway. If you can acheive more by using DirectX10, then I wouldn't worry about anyone still using XP. As Lin says they could just be using XP to go online & use a faster more up to date PC for working. I know several people like that who are afraid of picking up viruses so keep their main working PC offline. Your main priority once V9 is realeased is to provide a Mac version - everytime we give a talk we are asked "does it work on a Mac". Jill
