  1. No Problems on Windows 10 for PC although I did have to re-install PTE when if first upgraded Mickp
  2. This does not download if you are not registered and logged in to Diapositif, I think Mickp
  3. Don't bother to reply to above, not worth the effort. Mickp
  4. I think you need to find a way of downloading your recording onto your computer first as a file or folder, then you can transfer it into PTE. It depends on your recorder how and if you can do this. Does the recorder come with instructions? Hope I have understood this correctly. Mickp
  5. Another reason for installing Photoshop CC 2015 rather than keeping older versions is not only all the new features but also many of the existing features seem to work much better than previously. Enough said. Mickp
  6. Hopefully a good nights sleep will enable you to put aside some of the frustrations of this Forum and carry on with your excellent contributions. Mickp
  7. I don't see this effect either, seems fine to me. W10. Mickp
  8. I certainly am using CC and the majority at my club are using it. A number of the controls seem to me to work much better than previous versions. Back to the topic - I use Photoshop CC; PTE; and Pinnacle for video. These cover my every need and am not interested in trying to learn new programs even though I have some of them installed. Mick
  9. Excellent tutorial, Lin. I've just used it for a print I am putting in for a competition tonight and it worked very well. My knowledge of Photoshop has now increased from 5% to 5.5% - onward and upward. Thanks for posting. Mickp
  10. If I want feedback to improve a show that is exactly what I do with a few people whose opinion I trust (plus I reciprocate). Mickp
  11. You could also try downloading various meters from www.darkwooddesigns.co.uk . Very helpful. Also if you slightly minimise PTE the meter will stay on the screen whilst you operate PTE. Mickp
  12. I logged via PTE using my icloud account and got a similar response but later I got an email from icloud to say they they had stopped a request as it was from a site which did not meet their security requirements (forgot the exact wording). So I log in directly to youtube and upload the MP4 from my computer. Mickp
  13. Hi Eric, Glad you liked it. There were a couple more close-ups in my first version but they seem to have "disappeared". I think you are right in that they could have helped particularly with the music tempo changes. Next time. Mickp
  14. Looks like everybody has hibernated early but just in case anyone is awake I've put a new show on Slideshow Club. It's a walk around Wakehurst Place in Sussex showing the Autumn colours. Sorry about the typo in the title but I don't know how to edit it. Mickp
  15. Windows Explorer Sorts according to Date Created, Date Modified or Date Taken. Not knowing anything about programming but I would think it cannot be difficult for PTE to Sort to any or all of these. Obviously it is not difficult to achieve the required result just quicker for the program to do it for you.
  16. Cannot think of a reason why you would want to sort a show out according to "Date Modified"
  17. It would be nice to arrange slides in slide list in chronological order of the time taken, not easy if you have multiple cameras with different file numbering. I am unclear what "Date" is used in the existing Sort set up. mickp
  18. Indeed well done Eric. Living in Kent, I know Dungeness quite well and often get the comment from non-photographers "Why would you want to go there!" - especially in weather like you had. But you have depicted very well and captured the atmosphere with your music adding to it. Glad to see someone putting a show on the Forum. mickp
  19. Oh by the way, the meter I downloaded for free comes from Darkwood Designs who were also very helpful in getting it installed on W.10. I shall make a donation. www.darkwooddesigns.co.uk
  20. Yippee! Problem solved. Dell had installed a Dell Audio program which has a device called Maxx Audio 4 which is supposed to give studio quality sound. I've switched this off and now I can hear the sound difference between all four tracks with my peak meter readings being 6.0, 5.2, 12.2 and 18.8 respectively. Thank you all for helping and Peter for the little tutorial. Now back to the show. Mickp
  21. Further to above, I have now acquired a free screen levels meter and have put together a short test program. This consists of four sound tracks of identical music but each one with a different setting of the sound envelope. The levels are 100%, 196%, 49% and 25%. I find when playing these tracks in turn the sound to my ears and my meters are exactly the same for the first three and only reduces on the 25% level. The peak readings on my dB meter are - 5.3, - 5.3, 5.3 and -10.4. If anyone could spare the time would they do likewise and let me know the result whether by ear or meter and in case there is a W.10 issue what O/S they have. If this result is expected then a not too technical explanation would be helpful. Sound Test.zip
  22. Hi Gary and Judy, Have downloaded latest driver for Realtek even though Device Manager said the existing driver was up to date. Not cured my problem but I think part of my problem was that the level of the music at 100% on the PTE envelope was up to 85% of the maximuim before distortion takes place and increasing it by 6db would have taken it over the top. I guess PTE or W.10 stops it from doing that although it does not explain why my club's laptop (on Vista) did make it sound a lot louder. More experimentation and back to the club. Thanks for you help.
  23. Hi Eric and Gary, All settings are correct but as show was conceived in W.7 I will do a small test show entirely in W.10 and put project file on here to see if same effect as I am getting is replicated on other computers. Maybe later or tomorrow. Thanks for you interest.
  24. I am having big trouble setting sound levels for my current project. For a particular section I want to increase the sound of the music dramatically for a short section. Judging it by ear I found increasing the sound envelope to the maximum, plus 6.0db of 200% seemed to make hardly any difference on my computer speakers (new) but when played through my A/V club's laptop, projector and sound system it certainly did. It fact all the levels were all over the place but they sound okay on my system. I have recently upgraded to W.10 and re-installed PTE. Any ideas? Mickp
