  1. I also have problems uploading from PTE to YouTube as it seems to have difficulty accepting my user name and password that I use for YouTube. As Eric says "don't know why" so for a few extra clicks it's easier to upload directly. Mickp
  2. Thanks Ken, that does it. Just upgraded to windows 10 and the Windows Edge browser which my icons default to. I will have to go and change them all to Chrome unless a quick fix ins in the offing. Mickp
  3. I'm blowed if I can find how to give stars and comments. Do I need to upgrade and how. Mickp
  4. Thanks for the tip Barry, good point but click and drag suited the purpose this time. Mickp
  5. Hi Dave, Tried both and I think I prefer to put the main image at bottom of stack which works really well for me. Just got to remember it. Thanks.
  6. Thanks Dave, I think you have probably solved it. Obviously some technical reason why it has to be which I am not interested in and will have another go in the morning when my concentration levels will be higher. Mickp
  7. I have had this problem a number of times before and thought I had found a solution but if I did I have now forgotten it. I open a slide in O & A and then ADD a number of slides to it (not as childs). These slides I want to reduce in size, rotate and position around the base image. I highlight one of the slides use the handles to reduce it to the size I want then rotate using the rotate handle and then I click inside the image to drag it into position. At this point the highlighted slide reverts to the base slide and that moves when I drag it rather than I want. How do I keep the slide I want highlighted and therefore drag it manually rather than using Pan figures. mickp
  8. When I had Norton it did all the time - hence Norton now gone. Mickp
  9. Hi Roger, I guess some of the residents of the road did not find all the upheaval very "amusing"! Well done for a very good documented account of the proceedings - sre you sending it to the Council? Mickp
  10. Lin's method is the one I use as it is easy to understand the principle but still can me difficult if there are a lot of twists and turns and acute angles on the route. The positioning, direction and timing of the coloured jpg has to be adjusted at each turn so as to achieve a nice constant speed of the resulting moving route indicator.
  11. Hi Snapcam, Thanks for your comments. Long-shot of the cathedral was grabbed v.quickly from the car on the way home whilst holding up the traffic. Tried zooming in to crop out the roof but then cathedral is very tight in the frame but probably better. Added a few seconds to the background green at the end but don't think I want to fade from green background to black as green is the background all the way through. Thanks for your interest. Mickp
  12. After a long period of silence I have at last posted "Stations of the Cross" on www.slideshowclub.com/ . Wood carvings using 122 different woods by William Fairbank is on permanent loan at Lincoln Cathedral and this sequence contrasts the new with the old within the background of the Cathedral. A commentary describes the various stations. I hope you enjoy.
  13. Hi Bert, A really well thought out and put together show. I liked the black and white then counterpointed by the colour for present day plus the photography was very good. Hate the mini zooms, I find them so distracting as I seem to watch the edges of the images to see if it is a mini zoom rather than looking at the image itself. Not sure what the point of them is - maybe it's me, I wonder what others think? But thanks for sharing.
  14. Well done, your hard work on the sequence has bought deserved results.
  15. Hi Eric, Thanks for the link which I have checked it out. Is it any good bearing in mind the quality of the VHS tapes will not be that good and does it convert to an MP4 file? Mind you it's quite cheap so may get one and just try it out. Regards, Mickp
  16. Has anybody any experience of converting old VHS tapes to MP4 files or to DVDs. I have a large number of quite short A/Vs and videos which I want to put on a USB memory stick for playing on my TV or combine them on to DVDs. I have seen converters which I could afford up to £50 but would appreciate some input and recommendations before investing. Many thanks.
  17. Hence the file size of the MP3 exe file is 10.6mb as against 1.41mb of the WAV exe file - is that what you are saying?
  18. Hi Stripes I had a very similar problem see http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/17788-publish-dvd-video-disc-will-not-play After a lot of mostly irrelevant posts, Igor finally solved see post on same thread dated 22nd August by an update 8.0.6. Maybe you have a similar problem so make sure you have this update otherwise it may be back to Igor. Mickp
  19. As Barry knows, I totally disagree with him. By all means make kfsd as the default if you want. Unless keeping normal slide duration as an option is stopping future development of the software, and I cannot believe it is, I see no reason for getting rid of it. Not all of us make A/V's in the same way as Barry, in fact there are a huge variety of work methods and the beauty of PTE is that it can handle all of them. Mickp
  20. Thanks, found the program and downloaded it. Now, will I use it is a another matter.
  21. Very clear tutorial except (and its probably me being thick) what is OAK and where did that screen come from? Mickp
  22. Just scanned it with AVG and no threats found. Maybe others with different anti-virus programs could try.
  23. When you say Avast "refuse it" do you mean that it says it has a virus or is it just rejecting it because it is an executable file. Many antivirus programs will flag up an executable file just because it is an executable file especially if it has not had a lot of downloads. I would think if you look hard enough you will find an option to download it anyway and as Barry says if it is a show from a member of this Forum it will be perfectly safe. Mickp
