Lin, The Black JPEG only disappears if you try to make a second generation Style from an original. I have proven that. Trying to make Snowy from your Original was not possible and I had to add my own Black JPEG. Trying to make Snowy2 from Snowy was not possible so I had to once again add the Black JPEG. What I don't understand is why second and third generation Styles are possible with regard to the PNG files. I have asked Igor if he can explain it. When I made Snowy and Snowy2 I did not close down between different ARs. I just altered the AR and made any necessary modifications before updating the Multi AR Style. DG

Lin, This is Snowy2. Snowy2.ptestyle It is based on your 1 Minute Snow Style and was constructed using the method described here. Everything is "Cover Slide" Mode so that even if the User adds an image which does not match the Project AR, it will work. I have added the 16:10 AR in place of 5:4. DG

Lin, Snowy was made from a single 1920x1080 project which was then modified to make the other two AR. I used the method that I outline in the article on multi AR Styles in the Online Help File. I have since thought of two modifications to Snowy and I will upload later to show you. DG

It is only three AR: 16:9 3:2 4:3 .....but all different AR will work. I have slightly re-arranged your objects DG

Lin, Before you go try this as a proof of concept. Snowy.ptestyle DG

Lin what are your settings? I had a 16:9 Template set for New Projects so I deleted that, re-started PTE and asked for a New Project. I was not asked to change the AR - just accept Project1. I can't remember what circumstances brings up Project1 and change AR?? DG
-
Well, for what it is worth, I would immediately delete it anyway. It is not necessary. DG

Sorry Lin, Still not found, DG
-
Lin, The Black16:9.jpg is "Image not found" - in the 16:9 and 3:2 version. DG P.S. I still don't really understand why it is there? I removed it (in O&A) and added a second slide and once again applied the style and (in a KFSD Project) the two slides dissolve into one another nicely.

STYLES FOR MULTI ASPECT RATIOS The information for creating Multi Aspect Ratio Styles already exists under STYLE but I have added a technique article describing the process in a little more detail. http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/techniques/multistyle Feedback always welcomed. DG

It would be nice if there was a reminder that you are UPDATING an existing Style? DG
-
So you would need all three versions each with a different name?? "If solution A is implemented, only one png image will be copied in the zip." DG
-
Lin, In this case, for "replace" read "update". Try making one where the image is zoomed 80% for 3:2. Then in a 16:9 zoom by 60%. The style is updated and will choose the AR/Zoom according to the Project Options. DG
-
Denis, Surely each subsequent .png will overwrite the previous one if all have the same name?? DG
-
Definitely "B". For years we have been telling users to keep all resources in a single folder (with sub folders). The "B" option is in line with that principle. But doesn't it mean that we have create or designate a project folder? DG
-
Maybe that is the way?? DG

Igor will find a way!

Lin, I agree that the components added when a Style is applied should all be indexed in properties tab of O&A and therefore should be part of the Template/BIZ but (at present) I cannot see anywhere any reference to a specific Style having been applied. So, for it to be included in the Template/BIZ is a little difficult. Maybe the fact is hidden somewhere and Igor can extract it - there is a lot going on "behind the scenes". DG

Lin, I tried the following: I used 20 seconds of the Converted GoPro Clouds in a single slide and created a 20 second EXE - good quality and around 28Mb. I created a 20 second MP4 of the single slide and inserted it (after conversion) into a single slide. The resulting EXE was indeed smaller (18Mb) but the quality took a hit - If I didn't know what the original looked like maybe it would have been borderline acceptable but knowing what it looked like with the original I don't think that I would use it. Sharpness wasn't an issue - in fact a little blurring might help. It is going to be a struggle to get EXE file sizes down when using Video but for USB/TV Video (MP4) applications it is great. DG
-
Now I understand! Yes I agree that is a problem. DG
-
Maybe I'm thinking this out wrong but..... ....if the style is not yet applied then how does PTE know which style to include? ...if the style has been applied then all of the constituent parts are gathered up and included in the Template. The Style itself is not listed as having been applied so how does the Backup know which Style(s) has(have) been applied. DG
-
Lin, I believe that we discussed this a LONG time ago. Can you not just add the (exported) Style to the ZIP Folder. The components of the Style are then unpacked when you apply the Style. I might have misunderstood your "problem". DG

Standard advice from me: On the final page of the VideoBuilder untick everything except burn/create ISO. Create the iso and then, if successful, use your normal DVD burner to burn the iso. Media Player Classic will play iso files to check them. If you have the right Tv with usb making an mp4 is a MUCH better alternative. DG

Good idea Lin, I haven't tried that yet - it might work with a bit of pre planning. This is 4k in-camera time lapse video and obviously is handy to be able to zoom into the scene with no losses. The "old-fashioned" method of time lapse is also available in HD format but involves the use of the software to get the final video. Lots of options and much experimenting to do. DG
