Canico, In the attached JPEG the Name of the File and Location where PTE is looking for it are shown. Presumably you know where the file ACTUALLY is?? Presumably all of the missing files are in the same folder?? Copy and Paste or Move them from where they actually are to where PTE is looking for them and all will be well. DG

I have added this information to the Online Help File. http://docs.picturestoexe.com/en/techniques/mac DG

That's one of the more sensible suggestions that I have seen here! If the images etc must be in the project folder before it can be added to the show it would go a long way toward a proper workflow. However, it would need something else built in which would prevent removal of images etc from that folder or at least a warning that removal will cause problems. I suppose we can dream DG

A method for drawing a Line on a Map in real time. Other methods exist. In your Image Editor, set up a Hot Key (Action) for merging an existing Layer into a New Layer - in my case it is F5. Set up a suitable brush type, colour and size to draw your line Add your map to a background layer in your Image Editor. Hit F5. Place a Dot on your Start Position. Hit F5. In the New Layer with the first dot place another dot which overlaps the first dot by about 25% - 50%. Hit F5 and repeat the above step of adding a new dot with a 25% - 50% overlap following the Line or Road which you want to delineate. Continue as above - F5; Dot; F5; Dot; F5; Dot until you reach your destination, changing direction with the road as required. When you have reached your destination you will have many layers but this takes relatively little time. The example below has 150 Layers and took about 10 Minutes to complete. Go to File / Scripts / Export Layers to Files and create all of the necessary JPEGs to a dedicated folder. The files will be created from the top layer downwards. When complete go to Windows Explorer and do a Batch Rename to reverse the order of the JPEG Files. The method is well documented on the web so I won't go into detail here. Alternatively use the PTE Settings / File List Order / Reverse Order command. Add the JPEGs to a New Project and adjust the timings to get as smooth a drawing of the Line as you can get. In the example the Slide Duration is 0.1 seconds and the Transition Time is 0.045 seconds. Note that when previewed the drawing of the line will possibly look a little "staccato" but when converted to an MP4 will smooth out nicely. When satisfied with your creation save the Project and create an MP4. The resulting MP4 can be added to another project, converted and its Slide Duration can be adjusted using the Speed/Duration Controls in O&A / Properties if required. DG

Use the "Rasterize to PNG" command in O&A Properties of the Text for the EXE. DG

Always wanted to go there - STILL want to go there!! Nice images. DG

The best "cure" is prevention. ALL Images, Music, Video and the .pte file in the same project folder. DG

Just a guess: The drive letters on your old and new PC do not match? DG

To convert a video or not? That is the question!
davegee replied to wideangle's topic in General Discussion
Wideangle, I found this problem a week or so ago and pointed it out to Igor. The V8.0.13 which will be released tomorrow (?) will cure it. I have tried a beta version and it solves it completely. BTW, try clicking on the first clip and Shift/Ctrl Clicking on the last and drag them all into the slidelist in one action. You will find that you only get one offer of Conversion but all are converted and will replace the originals automatically. DG -
Hi TC. You mentioned Version 7 (3 times ). There was no Standard/Deluxe in Version 7. Can you confirm that you are talking about Version 7? DG

4 K presentation from pic2exe ( UHD, Ultra HD )
davegee replied to ceratarges's topic in General Discussion
I think that the original question was "Can PTE export 4K Exe"? This might help: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/18190-creating-uhd-4k-videos/#entry121320 and this: http://www.picturestoexe.com/forums/index.php?/topic/17872-creating-4k-videos-using-h265hevc/?hl=h265 DG -
How have you added the music?? Have you tried adding additional slides?? DG

Added Lin's "Gatekeeper" information to the "PicturesToExe and Mac" article. DG

David, In the Publish Menu (PUBLISH SHOW) you can choose to make an "Executable File for PC" or an "Executable File for MAC". Which one are you trying to play on the MAC? If you are trying to play the PC variant then the MAC will need to be able to run Windows (Parallels etc). The other possiblilty for cross-platform use is to create an MP4 or AVI (from the same menu). File sizes can be quite high but are ideal for sending on a CD or DVD or on a USB Memory Key (in the post). MAC users usually have Quick Time which will play these files. There is quite a lot written here about using (up to) 1920x1080 MP4 files which will then play on a suitably equipped TV with USB input and Media Player. However if it MUST be for use on a MAC then "Executable File for MAC" is probably the best option. It then runs in the same way as other similar files on that platform. DG

Take a look at the Hotkeys section of the Online Help for the Timeline/Slide List. You can change the width of the view. DG -

Custom transition - Invalid floating point operation [SOLVED]
davegee replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
Tom, My guess is that, because all elements of a Custom Transition (CT) have to be proportionally changed (time-wise), the audio is not used in the saved CT. We have already seen that when the duration of a video added to a slide is increased or decreased the audio is "lost". You probably need a higher degree of sophistication of video/audio editing than PTE is capable of to be able to compress or expand the audio of a video in real time in an exe. Just a guess. DG -
Whatever you decide on, or are persuaded to do, I seriously suggest that you rehearse it thoroughly before your big night. DG

Correct Denis, The setting of Native Size in th Properties Tab of O&A makes the procedures outlined in that article unecessary. I have amended the article. I will now make some additions to the O&A / Properties Tab article. Many thanks, DG

Custom transition - Invalid floating point operation [SOLVED]
davegee replied to tom95521's topic in Troubleshooting
The exact same procedure does not produce this problem in Windows 7. More Windows 8 testing required? DG -
Did you see my post above? The Media Player MUST be in use (running) to be able to access the display parameters for the usb input. Your show must be playing. DG
