Maybe that is the way?? DG

Igor will find a way!

Lin, I agree that the components added when a Style is applied should all be indexed in properties tab of O&A and therefore should be part of the Template/BIZ but (at present) I cannot see anywhere any reference to a specific Style having been applied. So, for it to be included in the Template/BIZ is a little difficult. Maybe the fact is hidden somewhere and Igor can extract it - there is a lot going on "behind the scenes". DG

Lin, I tried the following: I used 20 seconds of the Converted GoPro Clouds in a single slide and created a 20 second EXE - good quality and around 28Mb. I created a 20 second MP4 of the single slide and inserted it (after conversion) into a single slide. The resulting EXE was indeed smaller (18Mb) but the quality took a hit - If I didn't know what the original looked like maybe it would have been borderline acceptable but knowing what it looked like with the original I don't think that I would use it. Sharpness wasn't an issue - in fact a little blurring might help. It is going to be a struggle to get EXE file sizes down when using Video but for USB/TV Video (MP4) applications it is great. DG

Now I understand! Yes I agree that is a problem. DG

Maybe I'm thinking this out wrong but..... ....if the style is not yet applied then how does PTE know which style to include? ...if the style has been applied then all of the constituent parts are gathered up and included in the Template. The Style itself is not listed as having been applied so how does the Backup know which Style(s) has(have) been applied. DG

Lin, I believe that we discussed this a LONG time ago. Can you not just add the (exported) Style to the ZIP Folder. The components of the Style are then unpacked when you apply the Style. I might have misunderstood your "problem". DG

Standard advice from me: On the final page of the VideoBuilder untick everything except burn/create ISO. Create the iso and then, if successful, use your normal DVD burner to burn the iso. Media Player Classic will play iso files to check them. If you have the right Tv with usb making an mp4 is a MUCH better alternative. DG

Good idea Lin, I haven't tried that yet - it might work with a bit of pre planning. This is 4k in-camera time lapse video and obviously is handy to be able to zoom into the scene with no losses. The "old-fashioned" method of time lapse is also available in HD format but involves the use of the software to get the final video. Lots of options and much experimenting to do. DG

Thanks Lin, I had a problem downloading from the original Link so I changed it to a ZIP Folder - Sounds like it was unecessary because you were able to d/l. That was not my original idea for getting the GoPro but it occured to me that Clouds are another use to which I can put it. The conversion to B+W is easily done in the GP Software and there are many options for output. Finding the right one is a little daunting. PTE reduces the size of the video to a fraction of the original but only when outputting Video - EXEs are LARGE! DG

Need to sort link out DG

Inspired by Lin's use of Clouds I am playing with the use of GoPro Time Lapse Video in PTE Projects for similar effects. The final version will probably NOT have the clouds moving throughout the show - it looks to be a little distracting. For Intros etc it looks promising. Igor, It fixes it on my PC. DG

I am only seeing one "User Styles". DG -

I can only think that the style might contain a "forbidden" object - but then why would it work on your system? If you send a Template of the Style you are creating to Dropbox, I will try to create and export a style from it. DG -

Screen shots? Can you post a Template of one which will not work? DG -
Peter is probably right here. I use a specific "Template for New projects" and "Custom Transitions" is unchecked when I open Project Options/Transitions. Try opening a New Project, unchecking Custom Transitions and re-saving as your "Template for New Projects". See Settings/Preferences/Templates. DG

Gary, Just tried a little test. Started a new project and saved it in an obscure folder. Closed PTE and re-opened by double clicking on another project in my usual folder. When opened I went to File/Open Recent Project and, sure enough, there was the project I had just saved in the obscure folder. One thing to note, the Recent Files List will not list recent projects that were closed without being saved. It works OK here. I think that it would help if you could detail a specific instance when it will not appear? DG

Janet, Just change the directory / folder to which you want to save and that message will disappear. It shows up if your selection is something like "Computer". Click on "Computer" in the Organize Pane and choose a Drive / Folder in which to save such as Z:/My PTE Shows etc DG

Their existing software gave me a few small problems initially but as with all software, once you find out by "tinkering" it comes together in the end. It relies on a fast "up to date" processor and requires the latest Open GL so that is why I could not process the files on my laptop while I was away. If PTE could handle (convert) the RAW Time Lapse mp4 files it would be a big help but Igor has enough to do right now. Maybe in the next version?? DG

Apologies Celou, The "problem" I percieve has nothing to do with AR/Resolution. In the image below, I would have prefered the object which I have indicated to be hidden. DG
-
Thanks Celou, I am just pointing out that your style appears not to work with all aspect ratios and resolutions. DG

You have corrected the "jump" but I can still see the last image behind the current image (1280x800 screen). DG
