  1. I have found no difference between MP4 & exe and run lots of events & competitions The reason an MP4 takes longer to Publish is that it has to render every Frame in the AV. Render at 60p for best quality & smoothness. A lot of competitions are now specifying MP4, but be aware the file sizes can be larger although not always. If it is your laptop then turn off any Antivirus checks before running your show as this can delay playing if it runs checks on all files first, especially for exe's Jill
  2. Thanks I will give this a try later. Thanks for the suggestion Jill
  3. Igor, thank you for fixing this so quickly. It works great for the RGB+Premultiplied Alpha. The other video which I think is Straight Alpha doesn't show up that well, but that could be the video itself. If possible it may be useful if we could have a Checkbox for Video to set Alpha Channel On or Off as we have for Still images? Jill
  4. Hi Igor, I have installed 11.0.3 but still cannot get my videos to show with a transparent background. I have sent you sample videos & project by WeTransfer. Jill
  5. I want PTE to be able to use Alpha Channel, I do not want to have to use another program. PTE can use Alpha Channel for a still image, so why not a video? Jill
  6. The time between your keyframes will determine how fast they move. If you want them to move more slowly then allow more time between the keyframes. Render at 60p for smooth scrolling Jill
  7. vbl2007 my video is not Lagarith Code. Also the test version 11.0.2 supports Alpha Channel, I have downloaded & installed that version. Jill
  8. I have read the post on Alpha Channel with Lagarith Codec & installed PTE 11.02 build 2 but I still cannot get an alpha channel video to display without showing a black background instead of transoarent. If I import the video into Photoshop it displays with a transparent background. How do I tell PTE to display as Alpha Channel?? I have tried creating the video as a straight Alpha & also as RGB+pre multiplied Alpha & still can't get it to work. It is in ProRes format as a .mov file Importing into Photoshop & then exporting as a .avi file greatly reduces the file size from 890 mb down to just over 7 mb, but PTE is still not displaying the transparency. The only way I can get it to work is to reduce the opacity to enable the image underneath to show through but this darkens the image as the black background of the video is still partly visible. Any help would be appreciated. Jill PS Some videos I need to keep as RGB+pre multiplied Alpha to keep the individuals colours within them. Others are fine as straight Alpha as I can easily colour them as one colour within PTE
  9. best to render at 60 fps for smooth playback. PTE can handle all frame rates on input, no need to convert anything Jill
  10. Silly question, but do you have an image underneath the .png? If you are just adding the png on it's own then the standard black background will be showing. My laptop is Win 7 & I don't have any problems with png files Jill
  11. I don't use Styles, but guess that the standard ones that come with PTE are built into the actual program. So when you install PTE on a different computer those should all be there. Jill

Centre X 100 moves the centre point to the right hand edge of the image If you look at the 2 keyframes for the Pan Left you will see that in the first Pan & Centre X are set to -100 The 2nd keyframe is set to 100 All this is doing is making sure that the image starts at the left hand edge of the frame & ends at the right hand edge. I suppose this allows it to cope with different sized images always giving the same result But it doesn't work well for portrait images. For something simple like this it is better to do it yourself rather than use a Style, then you can get exactly the effect you need Jill
  13. It is a common mistake that even experiened user make sometimes. But once you know about it, it is very easy to correct especially now with the new Drag'n'Drop The Help files are useful https://docs.pteavstudio.com/ as are Barry Beckhams video tutorials https://www.pteavstudio.com/forums/forum/8-tutorials-video-lessons/ Jill
  14. It sounds like you have them as parent and child ie attached to each other. Add your text image. Then make sure you click off that so it isn't highlighted in the list of objects. Next add your frame image. It should appear above the text image in the list of objects. You should now be able to move the text independently. Also if you are trying to grab it in the main viewer it may be grabbing the frame as it is over the top. So make sure that you click on the text image in the object list. Also go to Tools (bottom right of the window) and tick Ignore objects not selected. You should now be able to do what you want. Jill Ps if you are using PTE11 then you can simply drag n drop the objects into the correct order.
  15. Project Options - Default Tab - then Tick Cover - click Apply to all Slides
  16. Rosy, Closing PTE either way is exactky the same, you should get a message asking if you want to save. If you click on 'Don't Save' then your original project should remain untouched. Doing something like you describe it is always best to save as a new file name first & then work on that so that you still have your original. If you have lost it all I hope you can recreate it easily. Jill
  17. Rosy, if you cannot easily break the show into parts due to the sound changes, then you will have to edit the sound. It is very easy in PTE to copy & paste a group of Slides into another project to make a separate show. To copy the sound as well then you need to Link each sound clip to a Slide. You can then maybe adjust the sound so it ends naturally or fade it out for each part. Jill
  18. what aspect ratio is your Project? If it is 16:9 then any image/video will fit to that ratio Your image above is how I would expect it to look Jill

    YouTube

Videos on YouTube appear very quickly, unless it was a large 4K video, then it will take some time for YouTube to render it it 4K The Link is there as soon as you start the process. Jill
  20. But it only works within the same project. It would be nice if we could save a Quick Style for use in another Project as it doesn't change the Slide Timing like normal Styles do - which is why I never use them. Jill
  21. Copy & Paste the Slide to the new Show, then just change the image to the one you want. All of the keyframes will be copied with the Slide Jill
  22. Just move the next Slide up to the point you want it to stop. If this is the last Slide, then either add a Blank to fade it out or else shorten the duration of that slide. As long as 'Scale Keyframes' is turned off then it shouldn't affect anything else. Jill
  23. if you have turned off 'Scale Keyframes' then they shouldn't move. Also check in Slide options Main Tab for the Slide with the video on it. I always have scale keyframes off as it can cause a lot of problems if you are not aware of it. Jill
