  1. I work in 1920 x 1080 now but have old shows that are 4:3 as that is what the club projector is. Also most screens at club venues are square although when eventually replaced they are 16:9 or 16:10 I don't have a TV so no problems with that. Jill
  2. It does not seem to work the first time but then does I opened a 4:3 project but the Save Slide settings were still showing 1920 x 1080 a 16:9 ratio When I changed the width to 1600 and then clicked the Yellow Lock Icon it did then change the Height to 1200 I then opened a new 16:9 project the width was still set to 1600 but the height had changed to 900 When I typed in 1920 in the width it changed height to 1080 I then opened another (New) 4:3 project and the width was still 1920 but the height showed 1440 so a 4:3 ratio Would it be possible for the pixel width dimension to change to reflect the Ratio? For a 16:9 set to 1920 x 1080 and for a 4:3 set to 1600 x 1200 But then I suppose some people may want different dimensions Maybe a drop down list for the most common ones? Jill
  3. It looks like you have changed your file associations somehow, so your system thinks that the .pte file is actually a Firefox File. There was no need to uninstall Version 11 as all Versions can easily run alongside each other. When installing look for the check box that says 'Associate PTE AV Studio with the .pte file extension' For a beta Version leave this unticked and always open PTE 11 first then do a File Open. When reinstalling 10.5 then make sure it is ticked. Your files should then open & save as normal Once the final Version 11 is released then make sure you tick the box when installing Jill
  4. Hi Igor, Thanks for this feature - although I didn't spot the new tick box straight away. It keeps the durations that I set when moving keyframes or changing Slide Duration as I would expect. One thing that was confusing me (and may do others who also work visually) I couldn't understand why the end time in the Text Animation window kept changing when I moved keyframes. I now see that the time always starts at 0.0 no matter where the first keyframe is and runs to the last keyframe, so it is the duration of the actual animation and not that of the Slide. I never normally look at numbers as I work visually and expected with Fixed Times for it to show the actual Times for start & end of the Text Animation. I usually have Global Times on. If it is at all possible it would be better if we could see the 'Slide' Times like we can in O&A with the grey bars for Transitions in & out to be able to set the Text Animation positions against these. So if I want the animation to start at 9 secs I can easily see this. But if this is a lot of work then don't worry, hopefully I now understand the way it is working and I will be able to set things up quicker. Jill
  5. As far as I know the new Buttons are not yet finished Jill
  6. Thanks JT49, I did know this but forget! With Audacity yes you could be right, it is not something I have done as I do everything within PTE. It may be slightly larger with extra header information but most likely not much to worry about. Jill
  7. If they are on the same track you cannot link them to the same slide even if they have different names. If they are on different tracks then they can be linked to the same slide. Splitting your clip up in Audacity will increase the file size as you will be using lots of single clips instead of just one. Also doing it in PTE is so much easier and if you get it wrong you can just adjust the ends of each section to get what you want. Jill
  8. Igor, sorry I do not have a copy of the project before the change. The previous version I have has no Text at all. I have tried to recreate the problem several times on a new project with just 1 Blank Slide & adding Text to that. But I cannot recreate it. If it happens again I will let you know. The problem with the Times changing when ever I move a KeyFrame or adjust the Slide duration still exists. It is always basing the IN & OUT times on the %duration and not what I type in. It also seems to use Full Slide Duration even though I always have this set to OFF. Jill
  9. I don't think so as it is the same file. Why do you want to? Jill
  10. Igor, we heard last week that someone else had a similar problem. The sound was ok in all other programs and had been playing ok in PTE. Then suddenly it became distorted. Other music tracks were ok it was just the voice track. I will ask tonight if he has managed to find the problem. Jill
  11. It has always been like this, only main images show. It has been asked many times to also show images added in O&A. Maybe in a future version this can be done. Jill
  12. Thanks Igor. Only one object was selected, but it is good to know that you can edit several at once if needed. Jill Ps you will find there is a missing image in the .PTE file I sent in the above post. But it is only a background image so not important.
  13. A couple of problems 1. It seems that when I have Text Animations on several Objects that if I change one then the others revert to the default Dissolve. I have noticed this before but put it down to me doing something silly but it has happened again in a new project example I have 4 text Objects, initially I have them all set to 'Out' disabled while I work out the timings and keyframe starting positions the 'In' was set as follows - first Text Object is set to 'Zoom In', the others are 'Slide Down' all with a 3 sec duration - set by clicking the time under the 'In' Slider & changing it to 3 This worked as expected. I then changed the first Object to have an 'Out' which I set to 'Zoom In' When I played it in the O&A window the other 3 Text Objects had reverted to 'Dissolve' instead of the 'Slide Down' I went through & made sure the 'In' was still set to 'Slide Down' and set the 'Out' on all Objects to 'Zoom In' with a 2 sec out time. - again set by clicking on the time under the 'out' Slider This then seemed to work ok But I decided that the 2 sec 'Out' Time was too short & so I extended the duration of the Slide in Timeline by an extra 2 secs. It was 14 sec & I extended it to 16 secs by dragging the end of slide in Timeline 2. Now when I go back into the Text Animation box to adjust the 'Out' Durations I find that the durations of both 'In' and 'Out' have changed It appears to be going by the Percentage Time & not by the actural duration that I have typed in. If the user enters the 'In' and 'Out' Durations manually then they should stay fixed until changed by the user This is the last Slide in the project I have now got it working as I want, but I seem to have to keep going back & changing each Text Object more than once to get it to stay. Slide attached Jill TextAnimation.pte
  14. As I said above, if for example you want 3 ripple areas, then you need Opacity Masks to 'Blank' out the areas where you don't want ripples. So add the Masks to everywhere you don't want affected. You may need several depending on how complex the shapes are. I have done it with just one mask for the overhanging branches, but if you don't want ripples in other areas then just add more Opacity Masks. Make sure that these are above the Displacement Mask Replace the file WaterRipple with your own image in the attached .pte file to see how to do it Jill Water.pte
  15. Hi Rosemary, you should really post this under the PTE11 Beta Topics Section. You only apply 1 displacement map to an image. To create movement you need to move the displacement map using keyframes, either via a Zoom or Pan or both. A small movement for a very subtle effect & a larger movement to be more visible You would them mask out areas that you don't want to move with normal opacity Masks. Play around with it & you will find out how to do it, it is the best way to learn Jill
  16. you have a displacement Map - Circle Wave in your project, not an Opacity Mask When you add an Opacity Mask - Circle, you will see the chequer board transparent circle You then add another image into the Mask Content Jill
  17. Opacity Mask is the standard Mask that we have had in all previous versions of PTE Use it add other images onto the background image Jill
  18. When you installed 11 did you tick the box - associate with PTE? (or similar wording) Sounds like it was unticked - which I think is the default for betas, but not sure. This would explain why your project is opening with 10.0 or 10.5 I never tick that box while I am working with beta versions, so all my older shows I can simply double click in Explorer & they will open with 10.5 While I am working in the beta I always start PTE11 & then do a File Open - it will of course open the last project I was working on. Once PTE 11 is finally released I will then tick the associate box when I install it. Jill
  19. You will need to have your plane as a .png file, then you can easily move it across the screen in front of another image Jill
  20. if you have no animation on that image then it shouldn't move. There should only be 1 keyframe at the start & no others Which version of PTE are you using? Jill
  21. videos can also be used as displacement maps. But to acheive the effect of height differences then a Normal Map is best. Jill
  22. Any fonts that are on your computer will be picked up by PTE. Simply add them to the Windows Fonts folder. Jill
  23. I am assuming that these are exe files you are playing? Unless you specifically set to Windowed Mode then they will always fill the screen - why would you want it any smaller? Do you know which version of PTE these were created with? As I said above as long as you allowed 'Control of Keyboard' then you can easily move through using the left & right keyboard arrow keys. Also pressing the Spacebar will pause & restart the show. If you didn't allow Keyboard Control, then you have no way of controlling. You say some show controls so I assume you had the Nav Bar set to on with those. You talk about moving through the video? but if these are exe shows then it is not a video. The keyboard arrows or on screen arrows will move you through 1 slide at a time. As I suggested above as long as you have the project files then you can recreate these in the latest version of PTE and set them up how you want them to play. See Project Options - Screen Tab & Control Tab You could also create an MP4 file as output which depending on which program you use to play them will allow you to quickly scrub through the video & adjust the window size it is played at. If you don't have the original project files (you should always save these & keep backups) then you have no way of altering. Hope this helps Jill
  24. It will work up to 7, after that it was considered to be a new product. If you only have 5, then you can upgrade to 7 for free. Anything after that you will have to purchase. You will find that the improvements are well worth the cost, the program has changed a lot. Even going from 5 to 7 there are big changes. The developers need to make money to keep on improving PTE AV Studio. They cannot work for nothing. You can download the latest version & try it out for 30 days for free. The current price is still a lot cheaper than some other products & well worth it, give it a go Jill
