  1. yes, you can install PTE on 2 computers. Jill
  2. Simply drag the next image to the left to cover the end of the video so that it transitions smoothly Jill
  3. just make sure no Object is selected when you add text. Either click on the space below all the Objects, or click outside the Objects in the view above. When no Objects are selected any new item will automatically go to the top of the stack. Jill
  4. This is a very old topic, things have changed since 2010 you don't need to copy the individual Objects, just copy the whole slide from Slide view & paste into Slide View in the new Project. If you have any sounds linked to the Slide it will also copy the sounds into the new project as well Jill
  5. You can't expect the program to do everything for you automatically. It doesn't know what you want to move unless you tell it. It really is quite easy once you get used to it. If a lot of your sound is overlapping then just linking the first clip will move the rest along. If clips are independant then you need to link each. It may be better to build up your slides first, then add the audio if you are going to be continually adding/deleting/moving them. Maybe try to get used to it on a short piece first then do it on your longer show. Jill
  6. yes the crossfade will disappear. But you can move the Slide to keep it in sync & then unlink the Audio to get your crossfade back. I do it all the time when buildings AV's & have some very complex soundtracks. Jill
  7. That is why you link the audio to those specific slides. It will then move with them. Jill
  8. If you drop a new slide - in Timeline - between 54 & 55 then you will have to adjust it's duration so it doesn't overlap 55. Slide 55 will remain at the same position as now All the Audio will remain as it is. You can Link the start of an audio clip to any Slide, but you can reposition it once linked. So if linked to slide 55 & you drop in a new Slide before 55. That new Slide will become Slide 55 & the original 55 will become 56, the audio will now Link to Slide 56 If you want your new slide to have a longer duration then the current gap, then you will have to move the other slides along the Timeline. This where Linking the audio clips is needed if you want their relationships to the following slides to remain unchanged. You appear to be using the auto crossfade & adjusting the volume maually as well. In most cases the auto crossfade works extremely well without needing extra manual adjustment, but it obviously depends on what music you are using. Jill
  9. you can easily Link Audio clips to Slides. Click a Slide, then right-click on the audio clip & select Link. You can Link Audio on multiple tracks to the same slide. Then if you move the position of the slide the audio will move with it. To add or delete slide, but keep the same overall positioning, then do it in Timeline view. If you add or delete in Slide view, then the following slides will move along. PTE is great for syncing audio as you can get it so accurate. Doing it manually is both the fun & skill of making an AV personal Jill
  10. You cannot do it in PTE, it is in whatever program you use to play the video. If you use VLC Player to play the videos then the keyboard arrow keys move your video by 10secs. Shift+arrow will move faster Jill
  11. For anyone who uses Microsoft Outllok to access their email & also has AVG Anti-Virus software installed. The latest update to AVG is stopping Outlook from accessing the servers. My AVG updated automatically yesterday & I could no longer get my emails. I did a system restore & it worked again. However AVG automatically updated again today & I could no longer get emails. Apparently AVG are 'working' on solving it, but it seems this has been going on for a few weeks now. The current solution is to disable the AVG Email Scans to receive or send your emails. Jill
  12. yes, PTE has a Main Object - the image you see in SlideList & Timeline. By copying it will tick Main Object for the copy also - forgot about that So you have done the correct thing by unticking main Object on the copy. At present there is no other way to copy KeyFrames Jill
  13. Hi Gary, it will retain the full 1 hour of video, which is why you can go back later into O&A & change the time/position if you need to. Usually when using video you will be Publishing as an MP4 rather than an exe. The MP4 will only be the size of what you see. An exe would be the sum of all the file sizes used. If your original video is 1 hour long & you only want a very small part of it, then it may be better using the trim feature. Or create a simple project to select the bits you want & then Publish that as an MP4 to use in your final project. I rarely have videos that are much more than 5 minutes, most are usually about 30secs. Alyhough I have some up to 20 minutes. I have produced final shows up to 2 hours. Jill
  14. The easiest way to do it is to copy & paste ypur first MP4 into the Object List. This will copy all of the keyframes also. Then change the MP4 for your second one - click the little down arrow next to Picture in the Properties tab. To shift all the Keyframes, click on the first , then shift click on the last so they are all highlighted & drag to the new position. Jill
  15. I agree a 'cut; facility would make things easier, but I really find it very easy to work with as it is. By putting the next slide where you want the previous video to end you are in effect trimming the end of the video by adding the same video twice, you can easily cut a portion out of the middle. You can add any transition between the 2 portions. Jill
  16. If you edit the video directly into the Timeline, then the Slide duration will be correct. Add your video, right click & select 'Trim start of video' to the point you want. Then simply add your next Slide/Video to the point you want the video to end. Very quick & easy. You can use the same video multiple times, selecting the portion you want each time. No need to use the Trim facility or save as separate files. Jill
  17. DaVinci Resolve, which is free, can do this, but it is a massive learning curve. Depending on how much the subject moves you should be able to do it in PTE using keyframes. Jill
  18. Audacity has an auto duck feature. But you are never going to get it as good as doing it manually. An automated system can only react after the event, it can't predict something about to happen, so you will always get a noticeable change in volume. Adjusting the volume manually you can smooth the changes. Good sound is as important as good pictures and good production. It is worth taking time over. Jill
  19. It is actually very quick & easy to edit clips in the Timeline in PTE. But I agree that being able to 'Split' & 'Trim' video clips in the way we can do with sound files would speed up workflow. Hopefully in Version 12 Jill
  20. I have had a couple of Acer laptops & they are good. If you want it for PTE both stlls & video then I would say graphics is more important than processor. Ram is always useful. Jill
  21. Sorry this is not possible, you can only move things around in the SlideList. Jill
  22. It may be something to do with the Dual graphics. We had this problem a long time ago and it was to do with an Intel driver, although Microsoft would never admit to the problem. Make sure you have the latest Intel drivers, even though it is a new laptop the drivers could still be old. Not used Win 11, but if VLC is also cauing a problem then it must be graphics related. Jill
  23. Hi Rosy, What you are showing is for the Slidelist Fullscreen which you can rearrange. SeismicGuy wants to be able to rearrange the Filelist, which you cannot do. You can get Fullscreen Filelist view by using F3 or clicking on the Triangle at the top of the screen (once you have enabled it in Preferences/Toolbar) Jill
  24. you do know that you can sort the Filelist by Date or Exif Date. See Settings/Filelist Sort Order. Maybe this will help you. The other option is to add all of the images/Videos into the Slidelist The go to FullScreen View & move them into the order you want & delete those you don't want to use from the SlideList. Jill
  25. Hi Mark, You use Master & Linked Video when you want a single video to run over multiple slides. What I think you are trying to do is run a short video over a single slide which has a duration that is longer than the video. By slowing down the video - I set the Speed to 50% - it gives you a duration of just over 12 secs which is long enough to cover the side & the Transition. I also put a very soft blur on the video. Depends how visible you want it to be, but on my laptop anything less that 30% opacity is not really visible. May be different on your Mac. If you want to keep the rain at 100% speed then you need to add a second copy with an Offset of 6 secs (the duration of the video) This 2nd copy will then start to play as the first copy runs out. Both are single video clips. If in your final project the slide duration is longer than 12secs then simply add more copies with the appropriate offset. Hope this helps - but email me if you need more. Jill
