Hi Don, Sadly Lin Evans passed away, so you will find it very difficult to communicate with him now. If on your old shows you allowed 'Control of Keyboard' then you can easily move through using the left & right keyboard arrow keys. Also pressing the Spacebar will pause & restart the show. Hi Gary, thanks for sharing the video, some lovely pics. Can I sugest to you that you make all your images the same aspect ratio, 16:9 It will flow much better, as it is distracting when images don't match. Difficult without seeing the originals, but yes I agree they do look a little oversaturated, I am viewing on my laptop, but that is also not calibrated. I can only assume that it is your monitor profile that is causing the oversaturation. Jill

I don't use Lightroom, but maybe you have that set to Adobe RGB? This has a wider Gamut than sRGB, so may make your images look more saturated. PTE could be handling that being set to your Monitor Profile. But if you have saved from Lightroom in sRGB then I am not sure. I always use sRGB throughout, in camera, in Photoshop (when I use it) and in PTE. My monitors are just as they arrived, never have calibrated them. I find that my AV's always look as expected, on my monitor and on different projectors when shown at various clubs & festivals. Also over Zoom they look as expected. If you do a lot of printing then maybe you do need to calibrate, but I don't print so have never found the need for it. Is it easy to switch the Monitor calibration off just to check? Jill

A Are you using a different colour space for your images other than sRGB? PTE can handle other colour spaces but the Windows viewers may not. Check the Settings/Preferences/System Tab in PTE to see what it is set to. Jill

what program are you using to play the MP4? Could that be altering the colour. If you bring the MP4 back into PTE does the colour look correct? Jill

Yes you can. PTE is upwards compatible. If it was made in a very early version, then best to open in PTE8 first, then in the latest version 10.5 or 11 Beta. Earlier versions can still be downloaded from the website https://www.wnsoft.com/en/pte-av-studio/old-versions/ Jill

I notice in Barry's video that the built in Displacement Maps show X-Waves and Y-Waves In Beta 5 we only have Waves? Will the X & Y be in the next beta?? Jill

you can always use the 'Action on Mouse Click - go to Slide' If you make it a hidden button - zero opacity - say down in a corner, then during your talk just click it & it will go to whatever slide you want Jill

Hi Igor, The project that I was working on in V11 has been updated many times since the problem occured. I was working on it all last week. I can send you the Template Folder if you think it will help. But at the time it locked up I was still using files from my USB3 external drive, they are now all on my hard drive. I have the .pte file from the day before & one from about 4 hours after the lockup, but the project will have changed several times in between. I know I was working in Timeline & I think I had just dragged in a video file in between 2 slides, but realised it had dropped in the wrong place so quickly tried to reposition it along the Timeline. The freezing occurs when repositioning a Slide/Video or a Sound Clip in Timeline view. Only when you are working quickly. No freezing with any other tasks. I will try to see if I can reproduce it later, but have to go out now. Jill

Hi Igor, Sorry but it is not something that is easily reproducable, it just happens. If it does happen again, then I will try to get a screenshot. As I said I think it is if you do something too quickly after doing something else But very difficult to pinpoint what. John says it usually occurs for him when trying to reposition a sound file in Timeline, so just trying to drag the sound clip along. It just freezes & you can't do anything. Igor, we have left it several minutes, but it still stays frozen. Says PTE Not Responding at the top of the Window. On my laptop I only have a hard drive no SSD. I think I was using a USB3 external drive when it froze as my images are on there. Although I do transfer them to the internal drive as I develop the project. I do have an SSD on my Desktop, but that is only for the Programs C: Drive. All other files are on an internal hard Drive. Don't think John has an SSD on his computer. Jill

Yes PTE11 is just as stable as other versions. The freezing occurs in all versions, not sure if it occured in PTE9 as that was a long time ago. I have only had it once on my Laptop, but I don't use that to make projects very often. I think I have only had it once on my Desktop, but that is a fast PC. John has it a lot more than I do on his Desktop which is less powerful than mine, usually when moving a sound file in Timeline. The other person from our AV Group has just emailed to say it happened again after he added a 6 minute video & was about to edit it. Not sure if he works on Laptop or Desktop. Jilli

It is easy, but you have to move the displacement map between keypoints for it to do anything. Jill

Igor, I had a crash - Lock up - on Tuesday on my Laptop. Can't now remember if it was with Beta4 or I had just installed Beta5. I have had the same thing with PTE10 & 10.5 on my desktop and another member of our AV Group also reported the same thing to me on Tuesday. It seems to occur if you try to do something too quickly after doing someting else. Maybe with large files/videos & PTE is still processing. Often if you try moving the playbar in Timeline or moving a sound file. I think I had just inserted a video in Timeline & was trying to move it along slightly. I have never been able reproduce it, but the screen just freezes & you can't do anything. The only option is to close down PTE. I have found sometimes that you can do CTRL+S to save the Project or a CTRL+Z to step back one change. But you still have to close PTE. Also it leaves the .lock file and that has to be manually deleted to allow you to continue. I think John reported it to you a long time ago & you couldn't reproduce it, he mostly has it with sound files. It does not occur that often, but does happen if you are doing something quickly. Jill

I always use the light interface and not had any problems. However it was set to that before I installed 11. Have you tried doing a fresh install? Jill

I have never had any problems leaving at the default settings. I produce videos, still image slideshows and a mixture of video/stills/animation. Jill

Interesting! In the 2nd image even if you move the Alpha Mask Container above the Displacement Map it still does not look the same as the 1st image. I cannot see any reason why they should be different, but they are. Jill

Fullscreen Filelist is no longer displaying the used files in Bold or Blue I don't often use fullscreen Filelist so not sure when it stopped working Jill

Mike do you mean the function to open the image in your editing software, such as Photoshop? You can access this by either pressing CTRL+W or right click on the slide & select Edit Slide If it is not opening up your editing software, then check that it is set up correctly in Preferences Go to Settings/Preferences/System Tab & click on 'Set graphical Editor', then select the program you want to use. If you have recently updated your editing program then it may have lost the link to it. Jill

I have used the Change Image command to replace the main (only) image with another one - from the same folder on an external hard drive. Some of these are inside a mask as I only want to display part of the image. This new image shows in Slide/Timeline view and mini preview & plays OK in mini preview. But when I play in full screen I am sometimes getting 'Image Not Found' displaying instead of the new image. It will then play OK, but next time I 'Preview' it displays 'Image Not Found again' Jill This image has 2 masks to adjust part of the image, all the same image inside the Masks
