Jimcamel
Can we include the font files use in a Project in the created .zip backup; or alternatively include a list of all the fonts used in a Project in a list in the "project-name.resources" folder so that they could be manually accumulated and stored with the backup. I got caught on this recently when moving a project to my laptop and the font I had used for all the title cards had not yet been installed on the laptop. jc

davegee
This has been discussed in the past. I am not sure if the following is relevant: https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=556671154&sxsrf=AB5stBjzKCzrL3aAztSmLJF9xNMYOT4_-A%3A1691996917345&q=sharing+fonts&oq=sharing+fonts&aqs=heirloom-srp..0l5 DG
Tonton Bruno
Copying a font without the authorisation of the author is infringing copyright laws. You can copy it only for personal use, even if the fonts are free of charge.
jienense
But if you could warn that such a source you do not have it installed, more and more PTE projects are shared on the network, I think it would be good that when you open a project we get the message that such a source name is not installed. to be able to avoid this. Tonton Bruno
Yes, a warning message indicating the fonts to be loaded would be very useful.

I also agree. An alert feature would be helpful.

Igor
Show missing fonts is a good idea. We consider also another idea - automatically include vectorized text objects in a .pte project to keep original look for text captions, even if a source font is not available on a certain computer.
Jimcamel
Regarding Igor’s suggestion about vectorizing the font-that’s one solution and it would allow for re-rendering a project…but the drawback would be that’s it’s not fully revisable - so if you had to update a slide you’d be out of luck. I appreciate the copyright issue - which is why I suggested including a reference in the resource files to make you aware of the issue. Now, having opened this can of worms - and I think all your responses were great…..are there any other gotcha’s, other than Fonts, that might make the .zip file not fully revisable when restored? cheers, jc
