Well, suppose we do this. But what will happen when user opens this project in PicturesToExe where this style already installed? Should PicturesToExe use a style from a backup copy or from own storage?
-
A style may includes resources: - custom transition effect; - additional image/video files which are not main images. For example, background picture. These files are not being copied when you create a backup of a project in a ZIP archive. Because project links resources of a style. There is a global storage of the installed styles (built-in and user styles). If you want to copy your project to another PC, you have to export your style and copy a project. Import the style on a new PC and then open your project. Some built-in styles contain custom transitions ("Basic" -> "Blur - Zoom In/Out"). Users can create their project they don't see "additional" files of custom transitions. I understand that probably some users might find useful copying of all style resouces to a project folder. But it will mean one more option when author creates a new style. Also we should develope a new conception - THE FOLDER where to save project resources. Or several sub-folders - for images, audio, other resources. We could save audio comments there, custom transitions. Currently PicturesToExe is not ready for the idea which you asked.

Upgrade to PicturesToExe Deluxe 8 For existing users who want to do the upgrade to PicturesToExe Deluxe 8. And if you have installed any previous version of PicturesToExe (1.0 - 7.5) with activated license key. Download PteUpgradeTool (0.6 MB) 1. Run PteUpgradeTool. 2. Click "Upgrade" button. 3. Your web browser will open the page to perform the upgrade (on PayPro Global site which accepts payments for WnSoft). This utility will find and pass your existing license key automatically.

There is no English User manual for PicturesToExe 8 yet. Sorry! We'll launch English Wiki soon. You can find the information about PicturesToExe 8 here: http://www.av-group.org.uk/avnews/images/articles/pte8-194.pdf http://www.beckhamdigital.com.au/newsletter/2013/PTE8_Launch_Newsletter.pdf

I didn't realize that it might cause such problems. We'll think how to simplify the upgrade for existing users who have old long license key (up to v6.5). Please give me several days.

Steeplejack, The upgrade form doesn't accept extracted key which looks like this: 0ebaWDX70BKxW <...> Flg/uDddY8a8cjiDJDF4XkI= (Keys for PicturesToExe 1.0 - 6.5) You need to use the original key which we sent you in the email after purchasing. Please use this utility: http://www.mediafire.com/download/mzimoduazzy/PTE-KeyCopy.zip to extract your current license key from Windows Registry and save it to a file. It will save the file "PTE_KeyCopy.txt". Load this file and use in the upgrade form

Sorry, I should to take at least short break with further answers, or it may damage to my health. I was in a strong tension for many days due to hard work on PicturesToExe 8. Please write to our support team: http://www.wnsoft.com/support/

Eric, Please re-read my message above. P.S. I owe you £3

Chris, Please send request to our support team: http://www.wnsoft.com/support/ Eric, Today the internal exchange rate GBP to USD on PayPro Global is 1.54. It's floating every day as I know. PayPro Global is a Canadian company. I just corrected the upgrade price in GBP. Now it's £22 for the UK + VAT. Probably I'll turn on dynamic price for the UK customers, the prices in GBP will depend on current rate of USD.

I'll collect all responses and we'll try to improve the upgrade page. It's first time when a new version requires to upgrade for all users. So we have more questions and problems, especially during first days.

misterk, DavyC, I apologize for difficulties with the upgrades! The upgrade form on WnSoft website should work correctly. I tested it many times with different keys. We successfully received the orders for the upgrade to PicturesToExe 8. I see two typical problems: 1. The order page on WnSoft website contains two links: - Upgrade from versions 1.0 – 6.5 to Deluxe edition - Upgrade from versions 7.0 – 7.5 to Deluxe edition First link - intended for long license keys (or a key in a file) which we sent to customers up to version 6.5 The second link - for short license keys since version 7.0. Regrettably some users tried to enter key to a wrong form intended for another type of a license key and it doesn't work. 2. In case of the problems with a long license key entered to necessary form, users submited a modified key with removed beginning of the key. The key should be entered "as is", like it was entered to activate old versions of PicturesToExe. We use services of PayPro Global to accept payments. Companies can return VAT after purchasing. They should contact to support@payproglobal.com Thanks for this information! I'll contact to PayPro Global to clear this situation.

I thought VAT will be added regardless of chosen currency. Because it should be based on the country which you set in your order.
-
I just checked up - the cost of the upgrade for the UK is £25 + VAT. It should be equal to $34.

Thanks, Barry, for useful information! P.S. I moved this topic from the Offtopic section to this section of the forum.
